I. Introduction
===============================================================================
At the end credits of the Legend of Zelda, after completing both quests, it
will say "Legend of Zelda 1". That must mean that there's gonna be more, right?
People were demanding a sequel to the historic game and in 1988, people got it.
However, they found out that it has been changed dramatically. No longer do
we have the overhead view of the original game. Now people were given a side-
scrolling, rpg-based game. Though this disappointed many diehard fans of the
first game, some people (like myself) favored this game over the rest of the
series (yes, I favor this one over Ocarina of Time even).

The following gives you all the information you'll ever need in this sequel
to the most revolutionary game ever to grace the world.

Ganon has been defeated, but peace didn't exactly return to Hyrule. Many of
Ganon's minions remained to spread havoc, awaiting the day when Ganon would be
revived. The only way that Ganon could be revived was to sprinkle the blood of
Link, the hero who killed him, over his ashes. As Link gets close to his 16th
birthday, a mark suddenly appears on his hand. The same mark is that of the
crest of Hyrule Kingdom; 3 triangles formed together to form a larger triangle
(this symbol becomes VERY popular throughout the series). Link goes to see
Impa, Zelda's handmaiden. Impa took Link to the North Palace and showed him
the REAL Princess Zelda, who has been asleep for many MANY years due to her
brother the prince and an evil Wizard. Grieve-stricken, the prince took Zelda
and laid her in the North Palace, ordering afterwards that all girls born into
the Royal Family shall be named Zelda (thus this is the REAL Legend of Zelda).
Link then learns about the third piece of the Triforce; the Triforce of
Courage, which is hidden inside the Great Palace, which can only be entered by
placing the 6 Crystals on the 6 statues inside the 6 Palaces. Only when the
three pieces of the Triforce are put together can the spell over Princess Zelda
be broken.

II. Walkthrough
===============================================================================
So you've decided to play this game? Well, you're in for a wild run. This game
can be difficult even to a gaming master. Unlike the first one, you must gain
experience to power yourself up. This means there are no extra swords and no
rings to boost your power. This is the closest thing to a true RPG that Zelda
has ever been.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a. Prepare for Parapa
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But enough of my rambling. For starters you'll want to exit the North Palace
to Western Hyrule.

-Western Hyrule-
Follow the road going east until you reach the town of Rauru.

-Rauru-
There isn't much to do here. Young women in Red usually restore your life while
older women in Orange usually restore your magic. In every town in this game
there is usually a Wise Man who teaches you a spell, but only if you can find
them and do something for them. However, in Rauru, you don't have to do
anything. Go left from the entrance until you reach the next screen. Go left to
the 2nd house and wait for a woman in purple to come out. Talk to her and she
will lead you into her house. Enter the house and go right. Talk to the Wise
Man and he will teach you the Shield spell. Now exit town.

-Western Hyrule-
Before going any further, it is time to do some leveling up. If from Rauru you
follow the road north and west, you'll see a lone forest. Enter it and grab the
P-Bag in there for 50 Exp. (these bags are valuable, so make sure you grab them
when you can. To grab any item, stab it with your sword). This bag will give
you your first level. Exit the forest. Remember that you'll only find monsters
if you are OFF the road. Don't attempt to fight the large monsters, and don't
fight in the forest right now. Just fight the small monsters (look like slimes
on the world map) and fight on the open field. Kill the monsters on one side,
but don't exit. Go to the other side and do the same. Keep repeating until you
do some leveling. Remember that the stab in this game is more useful than
zapping your enemy. The monsters here are only worth 2 Exp. each, but sometimes
they may drop P-bags for 50 exp. Use Shield as well, because you'll get Magic
Bottles quite often here. Level up until your Life is at 3, your Magic is at 2,
and your Sword is at 2.

Head back to Rauru to heal up (it's the red lady with nothing on her head that
looks like a hooker). Once you've healed up, go outside and then go northeast
through the forest into the cave. The cave is dark and there's one monster
here, so be careful not to hit it. Go left and exit.

Now like in Zelda 1, there ARE Heart Containers here. Before going to Parapa
Palace, go southeast along the mountains until you reach a road. Follow it
(you'll be taken to a battle scene along the way, but no monsters, just a lot
of jumping and a lot of floating bubbles, but BE CAREFUL when jumping and time
your jumps right). Continue going and enter the clearing at the end. Go right,
but don't grab the Heart Container yet. Kill the Goriya first then grab it to
refill any lost life. This will also give you an extra bar on your life meter
(which calculates to about 16 hp in rpg terms). Now head north (going through
the battle area again) and enter the Parapa Palace.

Map Legend:
E- Entrance/Exit K- Key
P- P Bag R- Red Jar
L- Locked Door I- Item
F- Fairy *- Pit (down only unless looped)

+- False Wall ><- Pass to other room
^v- Elevator X- Boss/Key/Locked Door/Statue Room
Y- Boss/Key

Remember that these maps are side-scrolling and not overhead, so read these
maps like side-scrolling maps. You will ALWAYS start at the upper Entrance
(marked E for your convenience). From the entrance, take the elevator down.

Now that you're inside, go left. If you get hit by the Rat Heads, you'll lose
Exp., so watch out. Go left to the next area. Kill the Bots (slime-things) and
the Stalfos (duck and stab, since its shield is always up). Go left and grab
the Key at the end. Go back right. Keep going right all the way, unlocking
the door along the way. When you reach an elevator going both up and down, go
up it.

You should now be at E-1. Go right again and grab the Key on your way. Go to
the next room (F-1). Cast Shield and kill the monsters on your way right. Now
you'll face a Hammer Thrower. They aren't too hard to kill. Wait for it to
jump and throw a hammer before you sneak in underneath and stab it to death.
Take the Key and stab at the statue for a Red Jar (which completely refills
your Magic Meter). Go back left and down the elevator. When you reach E-2,
go left one screen back to D-2. Take the elevator down. Go left, avoiding the
Bubbles if you can (if you want to take the time to kill them, they are worth
50 Exp. each). Go left to C-3.

Here is a huge room with a disappearing bridge and a P-bag in the middle of it.
My strategy is always to hop along the bridge and quickly duck and stab at the
P-bag before falling into the lava (which will cost you a life I might add).
Grab the P-bag for 50 Exp. and go left to the next room. Kill the Hammer
Thrower again and then go left for an Ironknuckle. These guys can be hard if
you don't know how to kill them. The easiest way to kill them is to jump and
stab as you're coming down at their head. Their shield will NEVER block that
attack. Once it is dead, go left, unlock the door, and grab the Candle.

Go back right and up the elevator. Go right again back to E-2. Here is a good
chance to level up fast. Kill the lone Bot here and then focus on the bubble.
Stab VERY quickly at it to prevent it from moving. You'll be pushed back a bit
while you attack, so make sure to close in if you get too far. It will take
many stabs, but once it's dead, you'll get 50 exp. Repeat until your Life is
at 4, Magic at 3, and Sword at 2. Also try to get your Exp. up to 200. Go down
the elevator now to E-3.

Go right, killing the Iron Knuckle and two Stalfos on the way to the next room.
Now kill the Hammer Thrower and unlock the door to the next Iron Knuckle.
Before going right to the next room, make sure you're just 50 or less Exp. away
from leveling up. Once you are, go right to the next screen. Cast Shield and
walk right to the boss, Horsehead.

Horsehead:
20 HP
50 Exp.

This boss can be tough if you don't have Shield cast. Kill him the same way
you kill an Iron Knuckle; jump and stab at his head. Once you land, make a
quick retreat and repeat. Keep it up until he dies, leaving 50 Exp. (and a
level up if you followed my advice). Grab the Key it drops and go right,
unlocking the door. Go right to place the Crystal in the statue, which
automatically gives you a level! (this is why I have you do this).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
c. Path to Death Mountain
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Western Hyrule-
Now that you've got the Candle, the caves won't be dark anymore. Make your
way back to the North Palace (where you started out). Go southwest a bit to
the cave here. The cave isn't too big. Use Shield if you wish and take and
go right, killing the monsters until you reach the Magic Container, giving
you an extra 16 MP. Exit.

Now go north past the desert to the lone cave up there. Jump over the lava
while avoiding the Octoroks and at the end of the cave is a Red Goriya. Kill
it and get the Trophy. Exit this cave. Now head west along the road until you
reach the town of Ruto.

-Ruto-
Heal up here and go left to the 2nd screen. Wait for the woman to come out of
the first house and talk to her. She will thank you for saving her Trophy and
will let you talk to her Uncle. Go inside and talk to the Wise Man to learn
the Jump spell. Exit town once you have that spell.

-Western Hyrule-
Just go south to the cave.

You need the Jump spell to get through this cave. Go right and kill the
Octoroks and Goriyas that live here. In the next screen you'll see Lowders and
another Red Goriya. On the 3rd screen are a few Aches and a high wall. Use
Jump to clear the wall to the exit of the cave.

If you find you need life head east a bit to the lone forest. A Fairy will
wait there. Now head south along the side of the swamp (not inside) until
you reach the mountain. Go east until you reach the forest. Go to the top part
before entering the forest, then walk 4 squares east and 1 square south.

You will now be at Bagu's house. Talk to him inside and he will tell you to
show his note to the "river man". Exit back to the overworld. Walk one
square east and then south until you reach the road. Follow the road west to
the bridge.

The bridge is pretty straightforward. Just go right, avoiding the Bago Bagos
that fly at you. Only one screen so it's nothing to worry about. After you
exit, go off the road a bit and go east to the forest. There is a P-bag here
worth 100 exp. Go out and follow the road west until you reach the town of
Saria.

-Saria-
Go left until you reach the 2nd screen. Enter the first house you come to.
There should only be a table in here. Check the table and you'll find a Mirror.
Go back right and wait for the woman in purple to come out of the first house
you come to (a large blue house). She'll thank you for finding her mirror and
ask that you follow her. Go inside and learn the Life spell from the Wise Man.
This spell is VERY valuable, yet expensive. It will restore 48 HP (3 bars) of
your life.

Now head left two screens until you come to a big gap with water. Enter the
house and talk to the guard. He will see Bagu's note and lower the bridge for
you. Go left and exit.

-Western Hyrule-
Just go down to the cave. It will automatically warp you to Death Mountain.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
d. Death Mountain
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Death Mountain-
This place is pretty complicated. You're here to look for the Hammer and a
Magic Container. This is a long journey and you may lose a life or two, so
be prepared for that. Unless needed I'm not going to explain how to get through
the caves. You just have to take the right one. If I go into detail then there
are a few things that can happen.

From where you are now, take the cave on the right. After you pass, take the
next one on the right. Take the next cave going right as well.

In this cave there is an elevator in the middle. For the sake of making this
journey quick just go right all the way until you exit.

Once you're back to the overworld, take the cave to the right again. And after
that cave, right again. In this cave there is a Red Jar. If you need the jar,
use Jump to get it. Make sure you use all your magic before grabbing it though.
If you need magic to use jump, just go back and forth killing the Bots. Exit
this cave.

Now take the cave do the south, and after that the next one to the south. After
you clear that one, go take the south cave one more time. At the end of this
cave is a Red Jar. Exit this cave.

Now go west a bit and up. Enter the cave that is right beside the rock. This
cave can be hard so make sure your Life is kept up. Go right a screen and then
go down the elevator. Go right and hop over the lava pits to the right. In
this screen there is the Hammer guarded by two Darias (Axe Wielders). Kill them
and grab the Hammer. Now go back to the elevator and exit the cave.

Smash the rock to your left and fall down the hole that it opens. Here you
will grab another Magic Container, bringing your total MP to 96. Exit and
head to the cave on the far east side. Clear the cave and head north to the
next cave which will lead you out of Death Mountain.

-Western Hyrule-
Go east and cross the bridge. Now follow the road northeast past the graveyard
and close to the coast until you reach the town of Mido.

-Mido-
There are two things to do here besides heal up, but you can only do one right
now. In the 2nd screen there is a church with a shut door. However, the top
door is unlocked. Use Jump and jump up to the top and enter the room. Go
inside and the Knight inside will teach you the most useful technique in the
game... the Downward Thrust! This will make your battle so go much easier.
Exit back to the overworld.

-Western Hyrule-
Follow the road west. Smash the rock with the hammer and continue along west.
Go west until you reach the Swamp, then go north across it until you reach
a cave blocked by a rock. Smash the rock and go inside. Go right and kill
whatever you can (using Downward Thrust kills monsters easily and keeps them
out of your reach). At the end is the Water of Life. Grab it and exit. Make
your way east back to Mido.

-Mido-
In the 3rd screen is an old lady in purple who comes out of the first house.
Talk to her and she'll ask you to follow her since you have the Water of Life.
Inside the Wise Man will teach you the Fairy spell. Not useful right now but
it will be later. Exit town

-Western Hyrule-
Follow the road west again and smash the rock. This time go north. To your
east you should see a cave with a rock in front of it. Smash the rock and go
inside. At the end of this cave is a Heart Container! Exit and go west to the
cave on the west side of the road. In here is a P-bag worth 200 Exp.! Grab it
and get out of the cave.

Go south into the swamp. There are little roads that can ensure your safety.
On the road to the south of the cave is a Red Jar. Use it if you NEED it. Keep
going west through the swamp until you reach the Midero Palace.

Since you have the Downward Thrust, this level will be MUCH easier. If you need
magic, stab the statue on the outside for a Red Jar. From the entrance, take
the elevator ALL the way down to the bottom. Go right to the next room. Here
are a pair of Hammer Throwers guarding a Key. Kill them and take the key, then
go back to the elevator. Take it up one floor and go left. Grab the Key at the
end guarded by a pair of Blue Stalfos. Go back to the elevator and up another
floor. Go left to the next screen. Unlock the door while avoiding the Unicorn
Heads. Go left to the next screen again. Jump across the lava and grab the
Key on you way to the next screen. Kill the Iron Knuckles here and go left to
the next screen. Kill the Bubbles with your downward thrust (takes a bit, but
it's still worth the 50 Exp.). Take the elevator down one floor and go left
again, unlocking the door on your way.

At B-3 is a P-bag. Don't worry about it right now because there are falling
blocks here. Go left. Kill the two Red Ironknuckles and unlock the door to get
the Glove. Go back right. Grab the P-bag for 200 Exp. this time. With the Glove
you can now break blocks with your sword. Go back to the elevator and go down.

Go right all the way to the end past the elevator. At the end is a Hammer
Thrower guarding a Key. Grab it and go back left to the elevator at E-4. Go
down the elevator. Go right, killing the Hammer Thrower and Bot. Here at F-5
is a P-bag on a small disappearing bridge. Stand on the disappearing bridges
on top of it and downward thrust the bag quickly and get off the bridge before
you fall into the lava. Go right and kill the Blue Stalfos and Iron Knuckles
waiting for you. Now try to get your Exp. from within 200 of leveling up. If
you need to, kill the bubbles at E-4 to do that. When you're that close come
back and go right to H-5. When there, cast Shield and Jump if you can (Shield
takes priority). Go right until you face your next boss, Helmethead.

Boss: Helmethead
28 HP
200 Exp.

This boss isn't too hard. Jump and stab at his head to remove his helmet. After
removing it twice, his head will be vulnerable. Watch out for his magic and
stab at his head (downward thrust on the open head will wipe him out fast.
Grab the Key and go right. Unlock the door and put the Crystal in the Statue.
By now, Life should be at 6, Magic at 6, and Sword at 5. Exit the Palace.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
f. Island Palace
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Western Hyrule-
Make your way towards Mido again. Go south to the graveyard and to the lone
grave in the middle. Go directly south from the grave until you fall down
a hole. Go right to exit the cave and then follow around until you reach the
Island Palace.

From the entrance take the elevator down. Go right past the Doomknocker and
Stalfos Knight. Keep going right until you reach D-2. Here in the blocks are
a Key and P-bag. You need both the Glove and Downward Thrust to get these,
which you already have. Grab them and go right. Now you have to break the
blocks to create a "stairway" to the right side of the room (or you can just
cast Jump). Kill the Iron Knuckles if you wish, but go right to F-2. Grab the
Key past the Red Iron Knuckle and then go back. Take the elevator.

Go right. Cross the Lava pits, grabbing the key on your way. At G-2 there is
a Red and Blue Iron Knuckle. The Blue one is worth worrying about since it
can shoot magic from it sword. Kill them both the same way and grab the Raft
past the locked door. Go back left past the elevator to D-3. Kill the Red
Iron Knuckle and go left past this elevator as well. In this room are a bunch
of flying Bear Heads and a Key at the bottom of a block floor. Quickly get the
Key and go back to the elevator at D-3. Go down. Use Jump to get the P-bag
worth 100 Exp., then go right. Kill the Blue Iron Knuckle and the 2 Red ones
and grab the P-bag worth another 100 exp. Try to get within 300 Exp. of your
next level before going right. After you do so, go right. Cast Shield and Jump
if you can and face your next boss; the Iron Knuckle.

Boss: Iron Knuckle
25 HP + 20 HP
300 Exp.

This isn't too hard, but this time the Blue Iron Knuckle will ride a horse to
try to charge you. Stand in the middle and wait for the horse to charge. Jump
and downward thrust the horse. Do this a few times until the Iron Knuckle jumps
off and starts to attack you normally. Just jump and stab like you always do
to this guy and before long he'll die out, leaving 300 Exp. and a Key. Unlock
the door to your right and put the Crystal into the statue. By now you should
have another two levels on you, so your Life should be at 7, Magic at 6, and
Sword at 6.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
g. Eastern Hyrule
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Western Hyrule-
Make your way back to Mido. Heal up there and then go east along the road to
the raft port. The raft will take you to Eastern Hyrule.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Quickly make your way east to the road and then to the nearby town. The reason
being is that the monsters here can't be killed alone. Enter the town of
Nabooru.

-Nabooru-
Heal up here and go to the 2nd screen. Go past the first house and check out
the fountain to get some water. Go back right and talk to the woman in red
that came out of the big house. She'll let you inside since you have water.
Go inside and you'll learn the Fire spell. This is the spell you need to kill
some of the monsters in Eastern Hyrule. Exit town.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Now there are a few things left to do. There is a lone forest to the west of
town with a P-bag worth 200 exp. Then just south of town in the cave is another
P-bag worth 500 exp. And just to the right of that cave is a rock. Follow
the beach but hang along the mountain and you'll find another P-bag worth 500
exp.

Head back to Nabooru to heal. Now follow the road north to the cave. Use Fire
to kill the Basilisk here. Once you're clear the short cave, go north and
then east to the bridge to Maze Island.

-Maze Island-
There are two things here you must get. The Lost Child and the Magic Container.
To get the Lost Child, from the entrance to the maze, go south then east all
the way to the end. Follow north to the very end until you fall down a hole.
Go right, killing the Lizalfos (kill them like you would an Iron Knuckle) to
get the Lost Child. Exit the cave.

Now back to the maze, go south until you reach the bottom of the maze. Go west
and then take the first path going north. Follow north, ignoring the first
bridge you come to yet taking the 2nd (the 2nd goes north/south while the first
goes east/west). After you cross the bridge, go west and take the first path
going south. Continue until you fall down another hole. This will take you to
your Magic Container. Exit and retrace your steps back to Eastern Hyrule.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Head all the way west to the end, past the forest and to another beach on the
western side. Follow the beach east, going past the two battle zones, until
you reach the town of Darunia.

-Darunia-
There are two things to do here. First off, go to the 2nd screen. Cast Jump.
Go left until you reach the 4th house. Jump on the roof and then go roof
jumping to the right until you reach the chimney. Go down it and talk to the
Knight inside to learn the Upward Thrust. This is pretty handy in itself, but
the downward thrust is better to me. Still, at least now you can attack
overhead.

Go left to the 3rd screen. Wait for the old lady in purple to come out of the
first house. Talk to her and she'll thank you for saving the lost child. Follow
her inside and talk to the Wise Man to learn the Reflect spell. You NEED this
spell to complete the next palace. Exit town after you've healed up.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Make your way back to Maze Island.

-Maze Island-
Make your way back to the hole that had the Magic Container in it. After you
exit, go north and follow. Take the path going north and follow west. You
will find yourself in a Battle Zone against a pair of Basilisks and a Tektite.
Kill them with Fire and go right to finish.

After you exit, follow east to the fork and go north. Follow north and west
to the far west wall, then go north to the far north wall. Go east and take
the first path south. Follow south and east until you reach the Maze Island
Palace.

If you need Magic, attempt to stab the statue out front. You'll either get
a Red Jar or a Red Iron Knuckle. Remember this also if you need some Exp.
before the boss, go here.

Go down the elevator and go right to the next room. Wait patiently for the
Stalfos Knights to come up. Grab the P-bag worth 100 Exp. and go down the
elevator one floor. Go right to the next room at E-3. Cross the half of a
disappearing bridge and jump right at the end of it to the other side. Go,
crossing the lava pits and killing the Doomknocker. Grab the Key at the end
and stab the statue for either a Red Jar or a Red Iron Knuckle. Go back left
to the pit and jump down it. Land on the bridge and jump to safety to your
right. Go right, killing the Doomknocker, Stalfos Knights, and Iron Knuckles
on your way to the Boots past the locked door. Go back left and jump down
the it again. Land and go right.

Cross the Lava pit and grab the Key at the end. Go back left. Cross the
bridge and continue left. Unlock the door and ignore the elevator, just keep
going left. At the end buried under blocks is a key. Grab it and go back to
the elevator. Ride the elevator to the top.

Go left past the next elevator and unlock the door at the end. Continue and
kill the Iron Knuckle in the next room. Use Jump and upward thrust to break
the block in front of the key to get it. Unlock the door and go right past the
elevator again. In this next room are a Key and P-bag in under some blocks.
Take them and take the elevator down. Go right to C-3. Cross and take the key.
Go back left past the elevator and to the lava pit. Cross carefully to the
next elevator and go down.

Unlock the door and go right. There is a P-bag up top worth 100 exp. Go right
and kill the pair of Iron Knuckles. Try to get your Exp. around 300 from
leveling up. Go right to C-4. Cast Reflect and Shield and enter the boss room
to fight the Wizard Carock (make SURE that you have enough magic to cast
Reflect, else you are screwed).

Boss: Carock
32 HP
300 Exp.

The only way to beat Carock is with Reflect. Stand in the corner and kneel
down. Let his magic hit your shield and bounce back to him. Just stand still
in the corner and let him do this. The magic will eventually kill himself in
8 hits and he'll die. Grab the Key, unlock the door and put the Crystal in the
Statue. By now your levels should at LEAST be at this: Life - 8, Magic - 7,
Sword - 6.

-Easter Hyrule-
After you clear the Maze Island Palace, head back to Nabooru. Heal there if
you need to. Walk directly east from Nabooru and you'll walk onto the Water.
Keep walking east until you line up directly with the north side of the beach
to your south, then go north and east. You'll be above the Ocean Palace, but
if you keep going east, you'll enter a battle zone with a Heart Container. Once
you have it, go back to your original path and go east to the Ocean Palace.

Aside from the Great Palace, this is probably going to be your hardest Palace
to clear. Take the elevator down from the entrance. Go right and cast Fairy
when you reach the super high wall. Once you enter the next room, go back left
to get the Key you missed. Go back right and cross the bridge, grabbing the
P-bag on the way. Go right and unlock the door past the Iron Knuckles. Go down
the elevator.

Go left to the next room. Hide under the block where the Key is. Wait for the
blocks to form a huge wall, then make a "stairway" to it using your Glove.
Grab the key and stab your way left. Go down the elevator. Go left. Above
the next elevator is a P-bag. Use Jump to get it then go down the elevator just
one floor. Go left for the P-bag and right for the Key guarded by a Red
Iron Knuckle. Go right all the way to the wall. This wall is fake. Jump a bit
and you'll be right inside of the wall. Go right to the end, ignoring the first
elevator and taking the 2nd elevator up. GO left all the way and grab the Key
in F-4.

Go back down the elevator and left. Take the elevator you come to going down.
Unlock the door and go left. Fight the two Iron Knuckles and grab the Flute
past the locked door. Also in this room at E-6, if you cast Jump and stab the
statue above the entrance to the room, you can get a Red Jar.

Make your way back to the elevator at C-5. Go up and unlock the door to the
left. There is a P-bag past the elevator here. Take it and go down the
elevator. Go left and grab the P-bag, then the Key guarded by the Iron
Knuckles. Go back to the elevator and then all the way up. Go right past the
Iron Knuckles again and to the next room. Get about 500 Exp. away from leveling
up if you can. Cast Shield and Jump before facing your next boss: Gooma

Boss: Gooma
56 HP
500 Exp.

This boss is quite tough and you may need to use Life if your Life goes down.
Wait for him to spin his morning star, then jump. By the time he'll swing it,
you'll land safely. Quickly stab him in the belly, then back away. Keep away
from his morning star as it can hit hard. Keep attacking his belly and he will
fall. Grab the Key, unlock the door and put the Crystal into the Statue.

By now you should be very close to having all your levels at 8, which is the
Max. If not, your sword should be at 7 and 8000 Exp. away from leveling up.
If everything is at 8, then 9000 Exp. will give you an extra life.

j. 3rd Eye Blind
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Eastern Hyrule-
Now that you have the Flute, head back to Nabooru. Go south there until you
see the black River Devil. Play the Flute with your B button. Now go south
along the road, stopping at only 3 Battle Zones. Follow the road, ignoring
the Graveyard. Before you reach the bridge, go left 4 squares and then up past
the forest and through the swamp to the cave. Inside the cave is a P-bag worth
500 Exp.! Exit the cave and head east along the mountainside. There should be
another cave. Go through the cave to the other side. Use your Hammer on the
2nd set of trees on the 2nd row from the top. This will reveal a town.

-New Kasuto-
There are a couple of things to do. First go right and wait for the old lady
in purple to come out of the 2nd house from the entrance. Talk to her and
follow her into the house. Here is where you can get your 4th and final Magic
Container. Exit and go right to the next screen. Go right until you see an
open door. Enter the house and go inside the opening in the chimney. Inside
will be a Wise Man who will teach you the Spell spell (weird name, eh?). Exit
the house and go right to the 3rd screen.

Go to the end here and use the Spell spell. A building will then appear. Go
inside and grab the Magic Key! Restore your Magic again and exit town.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Go through the cave again. Hug the mountain southeast. Once you reach the
beach, go south to the ocean and follow along the beach west. You will soon
reach a battle zone with your last Heart Container. Exit and go west. See those
3 rocks? Stand where the 3 of them meet (in a cross fashion). Play the Flute
and the Three Eye Palace will appear.

This will be very straightforward now that you can unlock any door. If you want
P-bags, just follow the map. I'm gonna make this real simple.

From the entrance go down the elevator to the bottom. Unlock the door and go
right. Jump across the pits with Jump and go right to the next room. Keep
going right until you're at F-3. While you walk right, count statues. After
you reach the 3rd statue, cast Jump and leap over the invisible pit. Go right
to face your first mini boss; Iron Knuckle. This is just like the time you
fought him in Level 3. Nothing hard. Kill it and go right to grab the Cross.

After you get the cross, go back left all the way until you reach the pit
area again at C-3. Fall down until you reach C-5. Start going right once you
land. When you reach the huge lava pit, use Fairy to get across. Keep going
right, ignoring the elevator. Keep going right and you'll face the boss
Iron Knuckle again. Just destroy him like the last two times and go right.

Use Jump to cross the pit. Kill the bubbles and Blue Iron Knuckle to get the
extra life. Make sure you get it! Go down the pit. Before you fall down the
next one, cast Fairy and go right (if you don't have the magic, fall to the
bottom and go right on the disappearing bridge to get the Red Jar from the
statue, then go left and up the elevator and back down the pit). Now get to
the middle and cast Jump and Shield before the boss shows up.

Boss: Barba
70 HP
700 Exp.

Barba isn't too tough if you can cast both Jump and Shield. If not, at least
get Jump first. Stand on the 2nd platform and wait for it to come out. Wait
for the head to come out of either the 2nd or 3rd pit, then jump over it and
thrust on your way down to the other side. If you time it right, you can get
two attacks off before it goes down. Don't try it if it comes out on the left
side, else you will fall into the lava. Keep it up and it will die out. Grab
the Key, unlock the door, and put in the final Crystal.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
l. A Few Loose Ends
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Eastern Hyrule-
Now that you have put all the Crystals into the Palaces, it's time to wrap up
a few loose ends. First off, make your way back to Western Hyrule.

-Western Hyrule-
Throughout the game there are 1-up Dolls that will give you an extra life. I
never had you grab these because this is the one place where you will NEED
them. There are two dolls in Western Hyrule. One is in the swamp right by
the cave where you got the Water of Life. It hidden one square down and
one square left of the rock that blocks the cave.

There is also another one by the graveyard. Go to the far southwest side of
the graveyard to the beach. Follow the beach west and you'll find a battle
zone with the doll in it. Now you can head back to Eastern Hyrule.

-Eastern Hyrule-
The next doll is near the bridge to Maze Island. On the south side of the
beach right below the forest near the bridge is where the doll is.

The last doll is at the southern part of Eastern Hyrule. Remember the cave
north of the graveyard and in the swamp? Go back to that cave but this time
follow the mountains west. You'll enter a small battle zone with a doll there.

Now there is only one place left to go. Go back to the area where the Three
Eye Palace was. Go west to the bridge and cross it to the town of Old Kasuto.

-Old Kasuto-
With the Cross you can now see the Purple Moas that fly around. Enter the
first house you come to to learn the all powerful Thunder spell. Exit town
quickly as there is nothing else to see.

-Eastern Hyrule-
Make your way back to New Kasuto and heal up. Head back and take the small
path to the south of the graveyard. Cross the battle zone and enter the Valley
of Death.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
m. Path to the Great Palace
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Valley of Death-
This is why I had you get those extra lives. You're gonna need it for this
journey to the Great Palace. Make your way west until you reach the battle
zone. This place will really be dangerous so you have to be extra careful. Use
Jump and Spell to change the Moas into Bots. It might eat up magic but it's
better than being killed by them and it's cheaper than using Fairy.

Once you cross the first area, go north to the next battle area. Cross and
enter the cave. Go through the cave and to the next area. Follow the path to
the next battle zone, then to the cave. Cross the cave and you're at the Great
Palace.

You finally made it past that death trap and to the Great Palace. And if your
luck is as bad as mine lately you're down to your last life :p. There is a lot
of NOTHING in this palace, and you have to be SUPER DUPER EXTRA CAREFUL what
you do here.

Enter the Palace and the barrier will drop. Go down the elevator. Go left,
watching out for the Firebird. At B-2, walk up top and once you pass the
statue that's below you, jump over the false floor (if you're low on magic,
fight the Bots until you recharge your magic. Also handy if you want to use
Life to fill up your Life and then recharge your magic). Take the elevator
down.

Go right to the very end and take the elevator going down, killing anything
on your way. Once you take the elevator, go right. Take out the blocks and go
right. In the next room is a dangerous Dreadhawk. They hit fast and can be
annoying to take out. The strategy is to wait until they jump and then use the
Upward Thrust on them. Go right and take the elevator down to the bottom.
At the bottom go right to the next room. Take the elevator down at the end.

Go right break the blocks to find a Blue Dreadhawk. These are even deadlier,
but do the same thing you do with the Red versions. Go right to the next room.
Cross the disappearing bridge and take the elevator down. Go right past the
Firebird to the next room. Kill the Blue Dreadhawk again and take the elevator
down two floors. Go right to get a fairy and go left to the next room for an
extra life! Now go back to the elevator and go down. Go left, killing the
Firebird. Jump on the blocks and go to the left. Count 5 blocks from the
left side and break it below you to fall down the hole.

Once you land, go right. Fight the Boss Bot if you'd wish, but it's not worth
it unless you want some more magic. Go right across the disappearing bridge
and somewhere in the middle is a hole. Let yourself fall down that hole.
Hopefully your magic is full. If not, go left and stab at the blocks and you
may get lucky and find one. Else go left. Cast Shield and Jump and stand on
the platform in the middle.

Boss: Thunderbird
64 Hp
1000 Exp.

Wait for the Thunderbird to appear then cast Thunder on him. He will turn blue
and will show a head. This battle isn't too hard but the Thunderbird can hit
hard. Jump and stab at his head. Upward and Downward Thrusts won't work. You
have to stab at his head. 8 stabs at full power will kill him. After he dies,
grab the key and go right.

In the next room, cast Shield again. Go right all the way and you'll see the
Triforce of Courage... but you can't have it just yet.

Boss: Dark Link
64 HP
0 Exp.

The room goes dark and you'll be face to face with Dark Link. He can do every
move you can do. But he can't avoid you if you stand on the left corner, kneel,
and just stab away at him. He'll get close and get hit by the attacks, yet he
won't touch you. Do this to him 8 times and he'll die.

Congratulations! You have obtained the Triforce of Courage and rescued
Princess Zelda... again.

VI. Heart/Magic Container Locations
===============================================================================
Heart Containers:

1. After you exit the cave leading to the Parapa Palace (Palace 1), instead
of going to the Palace, go south along the eastern beach to the road. Cross
a couple of battle scenes and enter the grass area to reach the Heart
   Container.

2. Once you have the Hammer, from Rauru, break the block to the south of the
town, then go east and break the block in front of the cave. The container
is inside the cave at the end.

3. In Eastern Hyrule, after you have the Boots, head east from Nabooru into the
water. When you're directly north of the beach, head north and then east
to a hidden battle area with the Heart Container.

4. After you reveal Three-Eye Palace, walk north from the palace until you hit
the upper rock, then walk directly east to the shores. There is a battle
   area with the Heart Container.

Magic Containers:

1. Once you have the Candle, head a bit southwest from the North Palace to a
cave in the mountains. The Magic Container is there.

2. In Death Mountain, get the Hammer. Once you have it, smash the boulder to
the left of the cave leading to the Hammer. Fall inside and the Magic
Container is there for the taking.

3. This Magic Container is on Maze Island. The battle zone with it is directly
west of the Maze Island Palace on the far west side of Maze Island.

4. Once you have the other 3 Magic Containers, go to New Katuso. Talk to the
Old Lady in Purple that comes out of the 2nd house from the entrance. She
will take you into the house with the Magic Container.
===============================================================================
VII. Extra Life Locations
===============================================================================
1. To the left of the rock that blocks the cave to the Water of Life is a
battle area with an Extra Life.

2. After crossing the bridge from Death Mountain to the Graveyard, go south
along the shore from the bridge and follow to the Extra Life.

3. Just before crossing the bridge to Maze Island, grab the Extra Life located
to the south of it below the forest.

4. North of the graveyard in Eastern Hyrule is a cave. Before entering the
cave, walk west along the mountain until you come to a battle zone with the
   Extra Life.

5. In Three-Eye Palace, go to I-5 (in my map above) and at the end past the
   pit is the Extra Life.

6. The final Extra Life is at G-11 in the Great Palace. Once you find the
Fairy at H-11, go left to find the Extra Life.

IX. Tips & Tricks
===============================================================================
Extra Lives:

Do NOT bother to get your Extra Lives early in the game. When you're about
ready to head to the Great Palace, grab all that you can before continuing.
When going to the Great Palace, you WILL need all those lives.

Killing Iron Knuckles easy:

This is an easy trick to minimize the damage dealt by Iron Knuckles and to
save time killing them. Killing them is simple, stand in front of them and
jump. Before landing stab at the head. The hit rate is 100% and they will fall
fast. Works for Stalfos and Darias as well.

Killing Dreadhawks:

Dreadhawks in the Great Palace are so annoying, but if you bide your time and
wait for them to jump, you can kill them easily with some Upward Thrusts.

Full Healing:

If you're close to the beginning of the Palace, stab at the statue for a Red
Jar. Use it, Heal, exit, and repeat. Works most of the time.

Magic Recovery:

A lot of people don't know this, but for every 5 Bots (blue slimes) that you
kill in the game, you will get a Blue Jar. Many Bots in Palaces regenerate
quickly so if you are patient, you can completely restore your Magic and Life.
Each Blue Jar restores 16 MP, and Heal at its highest level cost 50 MP and
heals 48 HP. 3-4 Jars will give you enough to restore 3 bars of life.

Fast Experience:

While you're in a Palace, if you know you're about ready to face the boss, get
your EXP to within 50 or so from leveling up (or if you know how much EXP the
boss will give, get it within that number). Fight around if you have to then
fight the boss. Kill it to gain a level. Now put the Crystal in the statue at
the end and gain another level. This will let you level up a lot faster then
you normally would.

Restart Quest:

After you defeat Dark Link and defeat the game, you can restart the game from
the beginning with some extra stuff. Here is what you can keep and what you
lose in the restart:

Keep:
Life/Magic/Sword Levels
All Spells
Upward/Downward Thrusts

Lose:
Heart/Magic Containers
Items
Extra Lives
