                                  II. Story

Link awoke one day to find himself deep in a strange forest. As he started to
walk through the woods, he heard cries for help coming from just up ahead of
him. Link hurried toward the voice, only to find a group of monsters
surrounding the woman who was screaming. When the monsters saw Link, they
immediately fled.

The woman who was being attacked was none other than Impa, nurse to Hyrule's
Princess Zelda. Impa said she had come to the forest to search for a singer
named Nayru.

"Can't you help me look?" Impa asked. Despite the strange look she gave him,
Link could not refuse her request. Together they found a large stone with a
Triforce on it. Naturally, Link moved the stone, but Impa wouldn't so much as
lay a hand on it.

As they traveled even deeper into the forest, they found a young woman
singing. Invited to sit by the group of animals that listened to the girl's
song, Link joined in the circle and let the beautiful song fill his ears and
penetrate his heart. This was surely Nayru, the singer Impa was searching for.
Just then, Impa erupted in a cackling laugh.

"Ah ha ha ha ha ha!"

A darkness surrounded Impa, and a frightening shadow lifted from her body.

"Nayru! Oracle of Ages! I, Veran, Sorceress of Shadows, shall make you my
own!"

The shadow that called itself Veran began swooping about the forest before
flying straight into the body of the frightened singer. A blinding light shone
forth from Nayru's body.

When Link's eyes had grown used to the light, he realized that Nayru looked
very strange. Her face seemed veiled in shadow, and her bright smile had
vanished. A piercing, evil gaze had replaced it.

"Ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Now the power of the Oracle of Ages is mine! I can travel through time at
will! Now a new age shall begin-an age of shadows!" And with that, Veran and
Nayru vanished.

Nayru was actually the Oracle of Ages who controlled time in this land of
Labrynna. When the oracle was kidnapped, the flow of time in Labrynna was
distorted, and strange things began to happen. Before vanishing, Veran said,
"When the past changes, so does the present." Her plan was to travel to the
past and gather power from the sorrows of the people of Labrynna so that she
could create her age of shadows.

Will Link be able to free Nayru from Veran's evil clutches? Such is the quest
that Link must now undertake.

===============================================================================

                               III. Characters

Link:

As in all of the Zelda titles, Link is the hero of the game and the character
you'll be playing as. Raised in the land of Hyrule, it's only natural that
he's the chosen one to rescue Nayru from Veran's evil grasp. Link will be
travelling back and forward through time in order to stop construction of
the tower and to save Nayru from Veran.

Nayru:

Aside from being a very beautiful singer, Nayru is also the Oracle of Ages,
meaning she has total control of time in the land of Labrynna. After being
possessed by the evil Veran and taken back into the past, it's up to Link
to rescue her and return things to normal in Labrynna.

Maple:

Maple is a young witch who always seems to be running errands. You know
she's around when you see a shadow flying around the screen, and if you hang
around for a bit, she'll bump into you, causing items from both her and Link
to go soaring. From there, you can either gain or lose some items depending
on how much you can collect before her.

Veran:

The ultimate evil in this game, also known as the Sorceress of Shadows.
Veran interrupts Nayru's lovely singing in the beginning of the game and
possesses her body then returns to the pas to wreak havoc. You'll be seeing
more of her as you progress through the game.

                              IV. Game Overview

Controls:

A Button: Use item assigned to button A
B Button: Use item assigned to button B
Start: Pause the game; bring up menu
D-Pad: Use to navigate Link around
  Select: Bring up on-screen map
  A + B + Start + Select: Restart game.

Gasha Seeds:

You can find around thirty Gasha Seeds throughout this game (see Gasha Seed
Listing section) and they can be planted inside soft dirt patches outside
where they will then grow into trees, thus producing nuts with cool items
inside. Check the Gasha Seed Listing section for all current Gasha Seed
Locations (soil patch locations coming soon) that I've found so far.

Rings:

A change from old Zelda games, this one contains Rings. Rings give Link
magical powers (depending on which one he wears) and can be found all over
the game (see Ring Listing section.) Before given access to using rings,
you'll first need a Ring Box to carry them in. For ring descriptions and
locations, see the Ring Listing section.

Saving/Loading:

To save your game, press start anytime during the game and then press select
twice to move over to the save screen. Select the "save" option and you'll
be able to save/continue or save/quit. When you save, you can later access
your game by selecting your name from the save slot menu and you'll leave off
  where you last saved.

Level/Dungeon Overview:

Anyone who's played any other Zelda titles is familiar with the dungeon style
levels the games all feature. Each dungeon/level in this game consists of
a chain of rooms connected with doors. In most rooms, you'll have to solve
a puzzle or kill enemies or do something to open the doors leading to other
rooms. Each dungeon in this game features one mini-boss and one main boss.
Once you defeat the mini-boss, a warp portal will appear linking from the
entrance of the dungeon to where you defeated the mini-boss.

Your goal in every dungeon is to go through each room, solve all the puzzles,
collect all the keys and items, find the boss key and defeat the boss of the
dungeon. Every level has an 8x8 map, but most are much smaller than that.
There are a total of 8 'official' dungeons/levels in this game. Players of
Link's Awakening will be very familiar with this game's style of play.

Deep Water/Gaps/Lava

You'll find lots of water, a few lava pits and tons of gaps throughout the
game, all of which can be very deadly. If you accidentally fall into deep
water (water with large waves) without the Mermaid Suit, or through a
hole/gap in the floor, you'll lose half of a heart on your energy meter.
Unless you have Roc's Feather, stay away from gaps as best as possible
because if you're low on health and you fall through one, you'll most likely
die. Lava isn't very common, but has the same effect as water (only you
  can't swim in it.)

                                V. Walkthrough

Items: Wooden Sword

Select a save slot, enter your name and choose a message speed to begin the
game. When you're left to play, go north a screen to hear somebody cry out
for help. It's Impa - she's being attacked by enemies. As Link comes in, the
enemies flee and Impa will follow you wherever you go for fear of being
attacked again. Go north a screen then west a screen to find a rock with the
Hyrulian symbol painted on it. Impa asks you to move it, so do just that --
go north two screens to find Nayru singing. Talk to one of the animals twice
for it to move, then list to Nayru's singing. You'll then be introduced to
Nayru and her friend, Ralph.

After they tell you what's going down, the evil Veran will appear and steal
Nayru's body then warp back in time. Ralph will run off to save her, and Link
will go and talk to Impa, who explains what you must do and gives you the
Wooden Sword. She then tells you to go see the Maku Tree in Lynna Village, so
that shall be your next destination. Go south into Lynna City then go north
(stop at the jewelry shop if you want to get a ring/box) and through the cave
into Maku Road.

*******************************************************************************

                                   Lynna City

Items: Shovel, Heart Piece

Now in Maku Road, go north three screens and down the stairs to find the Maku
Tree. The Maku Tree will disappear due to something Veran has done in the
past, so go right a screen and use the time portal. You've gone back in time!
Head south in Lynna Village again and head: left a screen, south a screen,
left a screen, north a screen, left 2 screens (stop in the building here for
a Gasha Seed), south 4 screens, right 1 screen and talk to the miner to view
a custcene about the tower.

Go north into the Black Tower and head right a sceen, north a screen and left
a screen to find a miner reading something near four black holes in the ground.
Talk to him and he'll give you a shovel which you can use to shovel dirt.
Backtrack out of the Black Tower and use your shovel on the dirt to the right
to get your first heart piece. Exit this excavation area and go back to where
the Maku gate is (near the entrance of Lynna Village.) Use your shovel to
remove the dirt in front of the cave, then go in to enter Maku Path.

Go north a screen and push the block up to open the door -- go through it.
Push the block to the left/right to clear a path, then go right one screen.
Kill all the enemies in this room to open the doors, then go through the north
door and push the block into the gap in the floor. Go right, move the two
blocks out of your way and step on the switch to make a treasure chest appear.
Go back around to the other side of the room and open the chest to get a SMALL
KEY. Exit back into the central room and use your small key on the door to the
left.

Push the blocks on the left out of the way then step on the switch to open the
doors -- go north. Kill the two stalfos then push the blocks to get a HEART
PIECE. Push the lone block to open the doors; go right. Go up the flight
of stairs and you'll find the Maku Tree (when she was just a little child)
being tormented by two enemies. Kill them both and the Maku Tree will remove
the gate for you. Go south and through the time portal to return to present
time.

*******************************************************************************

Lynna City (Revisit) / Yoll Graveyard

Items: Seed Satchel, Ember Seeds, Graveyard Key

Head north to talk to the Maku Tree again and you'll receive the SEED SATCHEL
with some EMBER SEEDS already inside. As the Maku Tree pointed out, the first
place you need to go to is the Yoll Graveyard near the east of the map. First,
buy a shield from the shop (if you don't have enough rupees, burn the tree and
get the 30 rupee from the hidden chest) then go over to where you first started
the game. Burn the sapling near the sign then go right a screen and burn the
next sapling to enter the graveyard.

Go east a screen, south a screen and west a screen to find three boys who get
frightened by a ghost. After they run off, go down the bridge, make a right
and burn the sapling on the bottom to reveal a hidden staircase -- take it
down. Light both torches in this room and the GRAVEYARD KEY will appear; grab
it and leave this room. Backtrack to where you entered the graveyard and go
right a screen then north a screen to find the graveyard gate -- use the key
to open it then go right a screen and south three screens and enter the
structure which happens to be the first level.

                            LEVEL 1: SPIRIT'S GRAVE

Items: Small Key (3), Power Bracelet, Ring (2), Boss Key, Compass, Dungeon Map,
       Gasha Seed

                           |#|#|#| |#|#|#|#| S - Start

                           |#|#|#|#|#|#|#|#| B - Boss Key

Head right one screen, kill the enemies in the next room, push the block and
go north a screen. Push the cube into the hole, go around to the left side
of the room (onto the raised platform, south a screen) and open the chest for
the map then go back into the room with the cube, push it into the hole again
and go through the right door. Kill the enemies then go north a screen and
kill the enemies in here to make a SMALL KEY appear -- grab it. Go left a
screen and use your key on the door to the north, go through and come back
out. Push the block out of the way and open the chest to get the COMPASS. Use
your ember seeds to burn away the brush covering the hidden entrance next to
the chest.

In this next room, kill the snakes and hit the switch then open the chest to
get a RING. Go back into the previous room and head back through the north
door and push the blocks out of the way to the right. Open the chest for a
SMALL KEY then make a left. Push the two blocks out of your way then follow
the path around to the top and over east a screen.

Go north a screen, move the blocks out of your way then step on the switch up
on the right raised platform to make a moving bridge appear in the gap. Push
the blocks on the other side out of your way and step on the other switch to
make a chest appear. Take the moving brdige across and open the chest to get
a SMALL KEY. Leave this room and take the first north path you come to -- you
should be in a room with a square moving platform in a gap on the left side of
the room with blocks on the right side. Take the platform up to the top of the
blocks, hit the switch to make a chest appear and open it for a GASHA SEED.
Hop back onto the platform and get off on the other side; go left a screen.
Chop up the shrubs then use one of your keys on the south door. Time for a
mini-boss fight...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Giant Ghini

Giant Ghini has two attacks consist of charging at you and sending three
smaller Ghini after you after you. When the smaller Ghini are deployed, kill
them quickly then go after Giant Ghini. After enough attacks, he'll die and
the warp portal will appear. Go left a screen and use your key on the south
door.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head down and push the two blocks on the sides down and the middle block either
left or right, then go south another screen. Kill the Stalfos then go north
a screen on the right. Light the two unlit torches with your ember seeds to
make a hidden staircase appear -- take it down. Climb down the ladder and
up the ladder on the other side to get the POWER BRACELET! Climb back up the
ladder, go south a screen and move the pots with your new bracelet. Go up
the steps and open the chest for another ring then go south a screen.

Push the pot onto the switch in this room to keep it held down, then go through
the right door. Kill all the Stalfos in here then move the pot and open the
chest to get the BOSS KEY. Go right a screen and you'll be back in the first
room. Use the warp portal to get to the mini-boss room then go north two
screens and use the Boss Key on the door and you'll face off against the boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Pumpkin Head

Items: Heart Container, Eternal Spirit

The pumpkin head is actually a disguise the ghost is using to hide from you.
It has two attacks: spitting energy orbs at you and jumping up and down. Hit
it with your sword about five times and the body will disappear. Use your
power bracelet to pick up the head, thus revealing the ghost. Toss the head
across the room then slash the ghost with your sword. Repeat this method until
it's defeated and you'll get a HEART CONTAINER. Go north a screen and pick up
the ETERNAL SPIRIT (an essence of time.)

*******************************************************************************

                              Lynna City (Revisit)

Items: Harp of Ages, Gasha Seed, Bombs

Before leaving the graveyard, head south and plant your Gasha Seed, then go
south another screen and left to get the heart piece behind the rock, then
leave the graveyard and go back to Lynna City. From where the shop is, you'll
have to go to the far west side of town. When you reach the entrance to the
tower, don't go inside, but go left two screens, down one screen, right one
screen, down one, left one, down another and left another, then go north to
find three fairies by the tree playing hide-n-seek.

If you want them to return the forest to normal, you'll have to find all
three. From where you start, go left two screens and chop up the lower-left
bush to find the first fairy. Go right a screen after you find it to return to
the starting point. Go right one screen and down a screen then chop up both
bushes next to the chest to find the second fairy. Go up and left to return to
the starting point. From here, go north a screen, back south a screen the
north again and lift the rock with your Power Bracelet to find the last fairy -
they will now return the forest back to normal for you.

Go right a screen and pick up the rock -- the Wing Dungeon will crumble and
you'll have to go back to Nayru's house. Backtrack all the way to where you
entered Lynna Village and go northeast to find Nayru's house. Once inside,
push the statue sitting behind Impa to reveal a hidden entrance - go through.
Take the stairs and pick up the HARP OF AGES, which allows you to time warp!
Since the Wing Dungeon collapsed in this time, you can go back in time to enter
it. Play the harp just outside of Nayru's house then go through the time
portal to warp back in time.

Go left a screen, south a screen and left screen to enter the village again.
Make your way to where the tower entrance is (don't go in) and move the rock
to the left with your Power Bracelet. Go left two screens, south a screen
and right a screen on the lower path. You should see an old woman -- go south
and left. If you go left some more and north a few screens, you'll see two
rocks blocking a staircase; move the rocks and take the staircase to enter a
room with a chest and three rocks blocking it.

Push the right block down, then go around to the left side of the room and push
the left block down then push the center block to the right and open the chest
for a GASHA SEED. Leave this cave then go south and north (on the other side)
then go left 1 screen, south two and left another to find a sapling; burn it
with your ember seeds. Follow this path up, move the rock with your Power
Bracelet and take the staircase here. Move the rock and open the chest for
30 rupees. If you don't have a shield, take the upper-left path and buy one
from the Deku Scrub.

If you have a shield already, then take the lower-left path and go up the
stairs. Hit the tree with your sword to get some mystery seeds, then go back
to the previous room and leave the way you came in. Go south a screen and
you'll be stopped by a guard who will take you to meet Queen Ambi who is in
search of the Mystery Seeds you found. After giving her the mystery seeds,
she'll reward you with BOMBS, which you'll need to open the Wing Dungeon.

Once you're left to play again, go left a screen and south two screens to reach
the Black Tower entrance. From here, go left twice, south once, take the
lower-right path, then go south and left to find the closed off Wing Dungeon.
Use a bomb to blast it open and go inside.

Go north a screen and use your shield to flip the enemies over, thus exposing
their soft bellies -- slash them with your sword when they're on their backs
to kill them. The door will open once all three are gone -- go left a screen.
Follow the path left, then go up to the top part of the room where the cube
is. You can't just push the cube in the hole, as that won't open the door.
Instead, push it down twice, right three times, up three times, left once,
down once and left six times (into the hole) and the door will open.

Go north, move the top-right block and kill the snake. Bomb the right wall and
open the chest to get the DUNGEON MAP, then go back into the prvious room. Go
up the stairs and kill of all the snakes, then go north a screen. Kill the
keese (bats) then go left a screen. Avoid the enemies that move along the wall
and go left another screen. Kill off all enemies in this room and a SMALL KEY
will appear -- grab it and backtrack to the second room of the level. Kill the
spiked enemies again then use your small key on the door to the right.

Destroy all the ropes (snakes) here, move the block and open the chest to get
the COMPASS. Bomb the cracked wall to the south of this room then go down the
stairs into a dungeon-like area. Use the ladders to get onto the first moving
platform then use the second moving platform to get across the gap; go right
a screen. Approach the large block to make it fall, then quickly run under
it while it rises back to the top. Take the moving platform up the ladder and
into the next room. Kill all the snakes here to make a chest appear, then
open it to get another SMALL KEY.

Backtrack to the room where you got the compass then go north a screen and use
your small key on the door to the left. Ride the mine cart to the end of the
path then go north a screen to fight the mini-boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Swoop

The only real difficult thing about this battle are the holes Swoop makes in
the ground when he lands. First, run around and wait for him to flap his wings
really fast. When he does this, he's about to jump on you, so move out of the
way quickly when he does so. When he lands, attack him with your sword.
Everytime he lands, he'll make a hole in the floor, so be careful, because if
you go through the hole, the battle starts all over.

Continue attacking in this method and after about 6 hits, he'll start bouncing
after he lands, so watch out. After you hit him ten times, he'll be defeated
and the warp portal will open up leading from this room to the first room of
the dungeon. Take the upper-right opening and go right a screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go down the stairs and head south a screen once you get to the next room.
Ignore the enemies shooting arrows at you and go right a screen -- kill both
of the arrow-shooting enemies in here then take the stairs to enter another
dungeon-like room. Approach the large, spiked block to make it fall, then
run underneath it while it's rising -- go right a screen and pick up ROC'S
FEATHER (which allows you to jump.) Beware of the spiked block again then jump
up the steps using your new feather. Go down the ladder and back into the
previous room.

Stand to the right of the yellow tile then jump over it to turn it blue (don't
stand on the ground too long, or the floor will cave in.) Jump over it again
(this time to the right) to turn it red, thus matching the tile next to it
and the door will open -- go right. Hop over all the gaps with your feather
then get on the mine cart. When it takes you into the next room, make sure you
hit the switch to change the tracks to make the cart stop in this room. Get
off and blast away the cracked wall to the right with a bomb.

Kill all enemies in this next room to make a chest appear with a SMALL KEY
inside. Leave this room the same way you came in then go over to the cube,
push it: down once, right once, up three times, left once, up once, right
once, down once and left to turn the light blue. Get back into the mine cart
and ride it into the next room. Kill the enemies then go over to the panel
of four tiles (all red.) Jump over the left set of two one time to turn them
yellow, then jump over the right set of two twice to turn the blue (matching
the blocks to the left) and a SMALL KEY will drop from above -- collect it.

Go left a screen and take the stairs then go left another screen back into the
mini-boss room. Take the lower-right path then head south and jump over all
the gaps until you get to the red tile on the other side of the room. Jump
over it twice to turn it blue, then go back into the mini-boss room and take
the upper-right path. Use one of your small keys on the locked block then take
the mine cart until it stops. Hop over the gap in this room and kill the two
enemies then open the chest to get a GASHA SEED.

Hop back over the gap and go north a screen. Use your Power Bracelet to remove
the first pot to your left, then push the upper-right pot all the way over to
the other side of the room and onto the switch that opens the door (switch back
to your feather to jump over gaps in between pushes.) Go through the newly
opened door and head south a screen. This next puzzle shouldn't be too hard,
all you have to do is match the right set of statues with the set on the left.
First, jump over the red tile in between the two sets to turn it yellow, then
go over to the right set and push the yellow statue left twice (it should be
in the center.)

Now, go back and jump over the tile in between the two sets again to turn it
blue. Now, on the bottom row of the right set are four blue statues. Push
the first one (from left) up twice, the second one up once, push the third one
up twice, and push the last one up three times and left twice. You should now
have the yellow statue in the middle and the four blue statues surrounding it.
Go back to the tile in between the sets and jump over it again to turn it red.
Now, from the row of red statues on top of the right set: push the first one
(from the left) down once, the third one down once, the fourth one down three
times and left once and the third statue left twice, down three and right
once. The right set should now look identical to the set on the left and a
SMALL KEY will fall from above -- collect it.

Go north a screen and use one of your small keys on the locked door to the
right; go through it. There are several small enemies in this room who
camouflage themselves to match the tiles on the floor. The only way too see
them is by jumping over the color-changer tile in the center of the room then
running up and slashing them before they change color again. Do this until
all of them are gone and a chest will appear - open it to get the BOSS KEY.
Leave this room and use your last small key on the door to the north. Kill
the keese (bats) and go around to the other side of the room. Go through the
boss door, break the pots for some bombs and a fairy then go up the stairs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Head Thwomp

Items: Heart Container, Ancient Wood

If you don't know what you're doing, this boss can be very tough to defeat.
You must throw bombs from the tops of the ladders into the Thwomp's head and
he'll start spinning like a slot machine (only horizontal) if he lands on red,
he'll take damage; if he lands on blue, he'll send a spinning orb of fireballs
after you; if he lands on purple, he'll crash into the ground causing rocks to
fall on you from above; if he lands on green, he'll spit fireballs at you from
the top of his head.

You can avoid the fireballs by standing on the top platform; avoid the rocks
by hiding under one of the immobile platforms next to the ladders and avoid the
spinning fireball orb by going to the bottom of the ladder. For the entire
battle, you should stay at the top of the ladder except when he spits out
bombs, hearts or lands on the blue face. After you get a red face four times,
he'll be defeated and you'll get another HEART CONTAINER. Go down the right
ladder on the bottom then right one screen and pick up the ANCIENT WOOD.

Lynna City (Revisit) / Yoll Graveyard (Revisit)

Items: Zora's Flippers, Cheval Rope, Ricky's Gloves, Island Chart

Head southeast to where you enter Lynna Village. Go south a screen, past the
seed tree, then go right a screen and use Roc's Feather to jump over the
water. Go north and into Cheval's House, talk to him then leave and you'll be
confronted by Ralph, who leaves again. Go back near the entrance of Maku Path
and play the Harp of Ages to activate the time warp portal -- go through it to
warp into the present time.

Go south and east to leave Lynna City then go around to where Yoll Graveyard
is. Burn the sapling with an ember seed then go right a screen to find Moosh
being attacked by three ghosts. Kill all three then talk to Moosh and he'll
offer you a ride on his back. Tap A repeatedly to make him hover/fly or hold
A to make him slam into the ground. Don't take him near water, though, as he
hates it. Once on his back, go left a screen then north a screen and he'll
tell you that he can hover over gaps. Tap A repeatedly while navigating him
over the gaps with the D-Pad.

Continue doing this until you reach the rock -- get off of Moosh (B) and push
the tombstone here up to reveal a hidden staircase; take it. Once inside,
slash the two squids into the water and go north, right and south then equip
Roc's Feather and your Power Bracelet. Hop over the water until you reach the
switch -- pull it all the way out with your Power Bracelet, then quickly jump
back over the water and run up past the closing blocks to get ZORA'S FLIPPERS!
You can now swim in water (they're automatically equipped for the rest of the
game.) Swim north a screen then left a screen (upper-path) to find CHEVAL ROPE
on dry land.

Swim back around and take the lower-path left then exit this cave-like area
and go south a screen. Since you found what you were looking for, Moosh will
leave. Go back to Lynna City and over near Nayru's house. Play the Harp of
Ages to activate the portal then warp back in time. Go south until you come
to the screen with the boys playing catch then go left, south, left, south 3
times and enter the house here. Give your rope to the person inside so he
can finish his raft, but if you want the raft, you'll first need a chart, so
leave his house and go north a screen to find Ralph again.

After giving you a brief hint of where you can get a chart, he'll be off again.
Go back up to where the entrance of the Maku Tree is and play the Harp of Ages
to activate the portal -- go through it to warp back into the present time and
leave Lynna City. Go back over to where Yoll Graveyard is and you'll meet
a kangaroo named Ricky. He'd love to help you, but he seems to have misplaced
his boxing gloves. After telling you he may have left them near a tree by the
beach, go south a screen, left a screen, south a screen and left another screen
then use your shovel on the dirt piles to find RICKY'S GLOVES.

Take them back to Ricky and he'll let you ride in his pouch. Press A to punch,
hold A for a tornado punch and press B to get out of the pouch. Go south a
screen, left a screen then jump up onto the ledge. Go around, hop over the
holes in the ground then hop up to where the floating fairy is. Get out of
Ricky's Pouch, equip Roc's Feather and your sword, then jump and slash your
sword at the same time to bring him down. It's Tingle (from Majora's Mask)!
Be his friend and he'll give you his ISLAND CHART. Ricky will leave due to
Tingle's annoyance and you'll be left to play again.

Go to where a portal is and play your Harp of Ages to warp back into the past,
then go south to the house where the raft is. Now that you have a chart,
he'll let you use his raft. Go to the right side of the house then leave
through the exit to find your raft -- hop on! Go south two screens, right one
screen and north two screens and you'll get caught in a storm. After being
struck by lightning, Link will land on Crescent Island.

                                Crescent Island

Items: Gasha Seed, Scent Seedling

Upon arrival, a bunch of Tokays will steal every one of your items and weapons,
and you'll be left to get them back. Go south a screen, right a screen and
south another screen to find the Tokay that stole your shovel - talk to him
and he'll give it back. Go north a screen and enter the cave. Head all the
way north, push the block to the left and shovel away the dirt pile. Go south
and talk to the Tokay here to get your sword back. Leave the cave, then go
back to where you landed and head up the ladder. Go right a screen, kill the
enemies then go south a screen and chop away the shrubs with your sword.

Go right a screen and buy a new shield from the Deku Scrub for 50 rupees. Go
south two screens and down the ladder. Head right a screen and north three
screens, cross the mini-bridge and go inside the teepee. Go up to your Power
Bracelet and trade your shovel for it. Leave and go south until you can go no
further, then go left a screen, [note: this guide to appear at game faqs (dot)
com] go up the ladder and turn right. Follow the narrow path up, move the rock
with your Power Bracelet and take the stairs down. Push the lower rocks in
this room then take the next flight of stairs up to get your bombs back. Take
the stairs back down and bomb the cracked rocks -- open the chest to find a
GASHA SEED!

Leave this cave and start heading north to the trading teepee again. Before
reaching it, however, you'll come across some stairs to the left, climb them
and bomb the cracked wall to reveal an entrance -- go inside. Here, you'll
be able to play a little mini-game where you have to throw meat at every single
Tokay that runs by. The key to winning is to give food to each Tokay right
when they appear, and you'll have to be very fast. After giving meat to the
last (red) Tokay, you'll win a Scent Seedling. You can play again for some
rupees and a gasha seed, otherwise just leave and go north to the trading
teepee and trade the Power Bracelet for the Shovel then the Shovel for Roc's
Feather.

Leave the teepee, go south three screens, left once, hop over the holes in the
ground with Roc's Feather, go left another screen then north a screen and
bomb the cave open -- go inside. Equip your bombs and Roc's Feather then jump
over the water on the left; place a bomb by the cracked rock then jump back
while it explodes. Make your way to the right side of the room by jumping
over the water and blasting away the cracked rock, then go down and west to
find the Tokay with your flippers; talk to him to get them back. Leave this
cave and go back to the trading hut. Get the Power Bracelet again then leave
the hut.

Go south three screens, left a screen, north a screen and move a rock. Go left
a screen and enter the cave again. Swim across the water and move one of the
rocks in the upper-left corner of the room. Swim over to the deeper water
(it's colored differently) and press B to dive down, thus entering a dungeon-
like room. Swim down (I'm reminded of Super Mario Bros. here) and right then
climb the ladders to exit. Move one of the rocks with your Power Bracelet and
take the next set of stairs. Go left a screen to find the Tokay with your
Seed Satchel -- talk to him to get it back.

Head right a screen then jump off the edge of the cliff to land below. Go up,
left, up, right and move one of the rocks with your Power Bracelet. Talk to
the Tokay here and give it your Scent Seedling to plant it, then hop off the
cliff to the right. Now that you have Scent Seeds, go into the trading hut
and give the owner 10 Scent Seeds to get Roc's Feather back. Leave the shovel
and exit the hut then go south three screens, left one, hop the gaps and go
left another then enter the cave here.

Move one of the pots with your Power Bracelet then take the stairs down into
another water-filled dungeon room. Swim left, climb the ladder and wait for
the moving platform to come near -- hop onto it. When the moving platform
takes you over to the right side, jump onto the platform using your feather
and continue jumping from platform to platform until you reach the ladder on
the right; climb it and exit this room to find the Tokay with your Harp of
Ages -- talk to him to get it back. Now that you have all your items back
(except the shovel), you can go forward in time. Go back into the cave, move
one of the pots, swim through the shallow water and exit on the other side.

Before going back to the present time, go right a screen then north a screen
and move the plant you see over underneath the cliff. Go north and head all
the way back to where you landed on Crescent Island. From there, go south a
screen and push the plant here right two times so it's also underneath the
cliff. Once both plants are underneath the cliffs (so they can grow into vines
when you travel forward in time) go back to the path that leads to the trading
hut and play the Harp near the portal to activate it. Step on the portal to
go back to the present time.

Head south a screen, left a screen and north a screen. Climb the vine to the
left (if there's no vine, you forgot to move the plant under the cliff) then
go left a screen and down the stairs. Go south a screen then left a screen
and climb the next vine; go right a screen and move the lower-left rock with
your Power Bracelet to reveal a soil patch -- plant your Gasha Seed here (if
you have one.) Backtrack to where you climbed the first vine then go north,
left, climb down the stairs, left again and you'll find another vine -- climb
it. Go right two screens to find the area where you planted the Scent Seedling
in the past. As you can see, it's now grown into a tree. Slash the tree with
your sword to get some Scent Seeds.

Hop off the cliff to the right of the tree then go right a screen and south
two screens. Play the Harp of Ages to activate the portal then go through it
to return to the past. Go north two screens and enter the trading hut. Trade
the Power Bracelet for the Shovel then give the owner 10 Scent Seeds to get
your Power Bracelet back permanently. You've now got all your items back!
Leave the hut and go all the way back to where you found the Tokay who had
your Harp of Ages. From here, go north, left and south to find a portal behind
some dirt. Shovel the dirt away then play the Harp of Ages to activate the
portal -- go back to the present! Head north three screens, right once, down
twice and up (through the bushes) to enter the third level.

Start off by going north a screen then kill both of the worms to open the door
to the right -- go through it. Talk to the owl if you want (use a Mystery Seed
on him) then hit the first crystal in this room with your sword. Go back to
the entrance of the level and look in the upper-left corner to find some
blocks. Push the second from the top left once then bomb the cracked block to
clear a path; go left a screen. Kill both of the rabbits to make a chest
appear with the DUNGEON MAP inside. Go back into the entrance room and head
north a screen then right a screen (in the room where you hit the crystal.)

Go up the stairs (to the north) then take the revolving door to get to the
right side -- go right a screen. Head over to the right side of the room and
bomb the cracked block. Once it's gone, throw another bomb over the little
bar that's blocking you and (if thrown correctly) it will blow up the cracked
block inside. Go around to the top (still on the right side of the room) and
push the solid block down then throw yet another bomb over the barricade to
destroy the cracked block. Go back to the south part of the room and push the
block up then hit the crystal with your sword.

Push the block next to the (now broken) crystal up then move the statue over to
the upper-left corner to make a SMALL KEY drop from above -- collect it and
go back into the previous room. Go through the revolving door and head south
a screen then left back into the room where you killed the worms. Use your
small key on the door to the north then drop through the holes in the floor.
Watch out for all the enemies below -- kill them and go south a screen. Slash
at the worm enemy inside the cage until you kill it then go south another
screen. Kill both rabbits with bombs to open the doors, then go north through
the door on the left this time. Head left then north and take the stairs.

Slash the third crystal with your sword then take the stairs back into the
previous room. Go back into the room with the worm enemy in its cage and throw
a bomb at it from behind the barricades to defeat it, thus opening the door to
the south -- go through this door. Go left throw a bomb over onto the moving
walkway but make sure you throw it from a distance so it'll explode when in
front of the switch. Once the switch has been hit, the statue near the north
of the room will come alive -- kill it with a bomb to make a chest with the
COMPASS appear. After getting the compass, take the stairs up.

Go south then head left a screen to find some blocks. In the upper row of
blocks, push the center one up, the left one left and the right one right to
make a SMALL KEY drop from above; collect it. Go left into the previous screen
then hop off the ledge into the room with the rabbits. Ignore them and go
right a screen. Bomb the cracked block then push the solid block out of the
way; you're now back in the entrance room of the level. Go north two screens
back into the room where you fell down the hole in the floor. From here, go
right a screen and make your way through the revolving door. Go south a
screen, left a screen and north a screen to be back in the room with the hole
in the floor. Go right once again and the revolving door will now let you go
north, so go north.

Watch out for the Like-Likes (blob enemies) and go right a screen. Step on
the switch in the upper-right corner of the room to activate the statues then
use bombs to kill all four. Doing so will make another SMALL KEY fall from
above; collect it and go back into the previous room. Use one of your two
small keys on the door to the north and equip your sheild. The tiles in this
room will project themselves at you, so you'll need your shield to deflect
them. Once all tiles and enemies are gone, the doors will open -- go left a
screen. Head south (watch out for moving shrubs), left and north then go into
the narrow area and open the chest to the south for 30 rupees. Go back up and
use your small key on the door to the north.

Ignore the unlit torch in this room and go left a screen. Kill the Mimics and
the worm-like enemies in this room to make a chest appear; open it to get the
SEED SHOOTER. Go back into the previous room and take out your new Seed
Shooter. Fire an ember seed over to the unlit torch in the center of the room
to open the south door -- go through it. Go back around to the right side and
go into the room with the projecting tiles again. Wait for them all to self-
destruct again then go south a screen. In the upper-left corner of this room
is the last crystal. Go right up against the left wall, hold down A or B
(whichever you have the Seed Shooter set to) and position your shooter so it's
facing the crystal -- shoot a seed at it to break it.

If you go south a screen you can find a chest with a GASHA SEED inside. From
here, go left a screen and drop through the holes in the floor again. Go right
a screen, take the revolving door down a screen. If you want, you can get a
Gasha Seed in this room by pushing two of the blocks on the lower-right side
of the room inward then using your Seed Shooter to light the two unlit torches,
otherwise just head left, north, right and take the revolving door up to the
next room. Stock up on bombs by slashing the shrubs then go north a screen to
fight the mini-boss of this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Subterror

Make sure you have your sword and shovel equipped then go over to where you
see the Subterror burrowing and dig him up with your shovel. Once he's out of
the ground, slash him as many times as you can with your sword before he
burrows back again. As you deal out damage, he'll start moving faster and
faster, but you should have no trouble defeating him. If he catches you, he'll
come up from the ground with a spike, causing damage. Once he's defeated,
the warp portal will be activated. Go left a screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head north a screen, kill the worm enemies then push the lower-right block
left a tile to make a SMALL KEY drop from above -- collect it and go back into
the mini-boss room. From here, go south, take the revolving door to the left
then go north a screen. Cross the bridge and hit the switch until the little
panel is facing diagonally. Shoot a seed at it and it'll reflect it down to
the switch below, thuschanging the direction of the bridge. Cross the newly-
formed bridge and use your small key on the door. Shoot a seed at the switch
across the gap to make the panel move diagonally then fire a seed at the
panel so it reflects it over to the switch, thus making the bridge appear.

Cross the bridge, hit the switch with your sword to position the panel in the
opposite direction this time, then shoot a seed at it. The bridge will now
appear to the north -- cross it and go north a screen. Move the block in front
of the boss door and make your way back to the mini-boss room. Go south and
take the revolving door to the right. Step on the switch in the upper-right
corner of the room, get off and step on it again to change the direction of
the panels, then shoot a seed so it hits the switch below, opening the door to
the north -- go through this door.

Open the chest for the BOSS KEY then hop off the ledge to the left. Go left
a screen then north a screen back into the mini-boss room. From here, go left
then north then stock up on items from the shrubs. When ready, use your Boss
Key on the boss door to face off against the main boss for this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Shadow Hag

Items: Heart Container, Echoing Howl

This battle will be much tougher than the mini-boss fight. Equip your Seed
Shooter and Roc's Feather and get ready for one heck of a fight. The Shadow
Hag splits up into four different shadows then runs around the room. If you
get hit by any of these shadows, you lose energy, so jump over them with
Roc's Feather. When the shadows combine, some butterflies will be released.
Shortly after, the hag will appear. Face away from her and fire a seed into
the wall. It'll reflect back on her, dealing damage. Repeat this until she's
defeated then pick up the HEART CONTAINER and go left a screen to find the
ECHOING HOWL.

                             Lynna City (Revisit)

Items: Ring

After viewing the short cut scene of the tower, go south, left and north (on
the other side) to find two Tokay who plan on eating a Dodongo named Dimitri.
Talk to one of the Tokay and give them Ember Seeds to make them leave (with
flaming mouths, might I add.) Talk to Dimitri and he'll give you a ride on
his back through the sea. Head north a screen back to Lynna City and Dimitri
will leave. If you want, you can go north (on the ride side) a screen and
enter the cave. Shoot a seed at the north wall so it'll reflect onto the
switch in the lower-left corner, thus creating a bridge. Cross the bridge and
take the stairs to find Tingle again.

Talk to Tingle and he'll offer you an increase to your Seed Satchel; take it
and leave back into the main part of Lynna City. Make your way toward the west
part of the city until you come to a sign which reads 'Symmetry City' -- go
north into the area leading to this city. Burn the sapling on the next screen
with your Seed Shooter then shoot another seed at the switch to make the bridge
apppear. Now, I know I didn't mention this before, but if you went ahead and
bought a flute from the Lynna Shop, this area will be more water than land. If
you didn't, you should have land with some gaps in the ground. Make your way
north to find a carpenter near the bridge. Talk to him to find out his workers
have gone on break. Not much else to do here so go south and you'll run into
one of the fairies you saw earlier in the game.

The fairy will tell you that one of the animals (Moosh if you didn't buy the
flute from the shop, Dimitri if you did) is lost in the mixed up forest and
it's up to you to find them. Follow the fairy back to the forest until you
come to the tree where all three fairies are. Search around the mixed up
forest until you find the animal then talk to it and you'll get its flute.
Since I got Moosh, the next part of the walkthrough pertains to him. If you
got Dimitri, you'll have to figure this next part out by yourself. Now riding
on Moosh's back, head up to Symmetry City again.

Talk to the carpenter at the bridge and when he asks for you to find the
workers, agree then go right a screen. Hop off of Moosh and chop up the shrub
then hop back on. Fly over the gaps (press A repeatedly) and fly up the steps
into the next screen. Fly across these gaps and go north a screen to find the
first worker. Hop off Moosh and talk to him -- he'll get back to work. Get
back on Moosh and leave this cliff area the same way you came in. Go right
a screen, fly over the gaps to get to the right side of the screen then chop up
the shrubs and go south. You can fly over the gaps to the left and enter the
cave to get a RING, otherwise just fly over the gaps to the south and go left
a screen.

Fly north, over the gap and up the steps then go right a screen and north a
screen while on the higher cliff. Get off of Moosh and talk to the second
worker to get him back to the bridge. Leave this area and go back to the
screen that leads up to where you found the first worker. From here, go north
two screens, right a screen, down the ladder (enter the cave to heal) then
go south a screen. Fly over all the gaps with Moosh until you reach the last
worker -- talk to him and they'll complete the bridge. Moosh will no longer
be with you so cross the bridge and go north a screen into Symmetry City.

                                 Symmetry City

Items: Gale Seeds, Tuni Nut, Heart Piece
Songs: Tune of Currents

As you can see, this is not a lovely place. Beware of the large fireball
enemies, as they can shoot fireballs at you causing a lot of damage. Go left
a screen and slash the tree with your sword to get some GALE SEEDS. Chop away
the shrubs to reveal warp portal then play the Harp of Ages and warp back in
time. Go inside the big house in front of you and talk to one of the girls
to learn what's happened to Symmetry City. Once finished, leave this house
and go into the house in the upper-right corner of the city. Talk to the man
inside and he'll give you the broken TUNI NUT which you must take to a guard
named Patch at the top of Restoration Wall.

Go to the lower-left corner of the city and head down the ladder. Go left a
screen then climb the next two ladders you see. Swim through the water and go
over to the upper-right corner and press B to dive down. Swim through this
little underwater area (avoiding the fish) and climb the ladder on the other
side to exit. Talk to Tokkey then play your Harp of Ages so he'll remember
his tune. After dancing around on the table like a mad man, he'll teach you
the TUNE OF CURRENTS, which allows you to warp forward in time whenever you
want (no need for time portals.)

From here, go back through the little underwater area then go south a screen
once back in the city. From here, go left a screen (through the shallow
water) and stand on the lower part of dry land then play the Tune of Currents
to warp forward in time. Cross the bridge to the right and collect the HEART
PIECE. Warp back to the past and go right a screen, south a screen and left
a screen to find the owl statue. Stay on the lower half of this screen and
play the Tune of Currents to warp into the present. From here, go southeast
until you reach a large staircase, climb it and move the rock to reveal a
warp portal -- use it to warp back to the past.

Now in the past, go into the cave to the north and take the stairs inside.
Exit to the right and push the red block to the left once to swap the left
side of the screen with the right. Go back into the cave and take the stairs
once again. Leave this cave, go down the large staircase and move the plant
over underneath the cliff on the right. Play the Tune of Currents to warp
back to the present then climb the vine to the right. From here, go right
a screen, swim through the water and climb the ladder in the upper-right
corner. Go north (watch out for the enemies) then left a screen. Climb down
the ladder and play the first song to activate the portal -- take it to the
past.

Go north, right, south three times, right and north to find a bunch of vines
with a sign in front of them. Read the sign and you'll find out this is
Restoration Wall. Climb up the vines while avoiding the rocks until you reach
the top -- go inside the cave. Talk to Patch and he'll tell you his
'Restoration Ceremony' should fix the Tuni Nut. Follow him down the stairs and
talk to him once you arrive to play the Crazy Cart game. The goal is to push
all of the squid enemies into the holes while Patch performs the ceremony but
you must also make sure the mine cart doesn't hit your Tuni Nut or the game
will end.

To stop the cart, just step on the switch to change the tracks everytime it
comes around and it'll go right past it. You won't take any damage from the
squids, but be careful because they can overpower you and shove you into the
hole if you aren't careful. Go after one at a time and once all are gone (and
the cart hasn't hit the Tuni Nut yet) the ceremony will be over and Patch will
give you the repaired Tuni Nut. Leave the cave and go right a screen -- hop
off the cliff. Go north a screen to re-enter the main part of Symmetry City.
Head left a screen and enter the large house. Once inside, place the Tuni
Nut onto the pedestal to stop the volcano.

Leave the house and play the Tune of Currents to return to the present. Go
north a screen and enter the volcano which happens to be the fourth level.

Upon entering, go north a screen then left a screen. Kill all the enemies
in this room to open the door then go left into the next room. Hop over the
lava with Roc's Feather then go north a screen. Go around to the other side
of the room (beware of the fire bats) then go south a screen and push the block
down then open the chest to get the COMPASS. Go south a screen, hop over the
lava with Roc's Feather and push the cube: down four times, right once, up
once, left once, down once and left twice to make a chest appear with a SMALL
KEY inside -- collect it and go up the stairs to the right. Head north a
screen and jump off the ledge then go right three screens. View this diagram
to get up to the locked door:

Jump to 1 then from 1 jump to two. Walk right and jump to 3 then jump over
to 4, go up and jump to 5 then to 6. Push the * block to the left then jump
from where that block was to 7. Push the @ block right then use your small
key on the locked door straight ahead. Kill all the Stalfos in this room then
go right a screen and hit the switch. Jump into the mine cart and have it
take you to the other side. Hop over the lava and open the chest for the
DUNGEON MAP. Ride the cart back and hit the switch again to change the
direction of the tracks.

Hop back into the cart and as it takes you to the other side, hit the switch
on the left when you come to it. Once you reach the end, go down a bit and
equip your Seed Shooter. Angle it southeast and when the switch on the other
side of the room touches the left wall, shoot a seed. If your timing and aim
were right, you'll have hit the switch and a chest will appear -- open it for
another SMALL KEY. Hop back into the mine cart and it should stop in the
room where you got the map. Kill the enemies then use your small key on the
locked door in the upper-right corner of the room. Go right a scren and
watch out for the sensor spikes. Jump over the lava and go north a screen.

Kill the bats in this room first then equip your Power Bracelet and pull the
switch all the way back to make a floor appear instead of lava. Let go of
the switch then quickly run left and then north a screen before the floor
disappears again. Kill the bone-tossing Stalfos to open the door then go left
into the next room. Take out your Seed Shooter and shoot some seeds at the
squid enemies to take care of them. Hop over the lava with Roc's Feather then
go north a screen. The goal here is to match the tiles on the left with the
pattern on the right. Below is a diagram showing the order in which you should
jump on each tile followed by the number of times you should jump on it.

                               _____ _____ _____
                              | | | |

Once that's done, the door to the left will open -- go through it. Watch out
for the spikes when you enter (as well as the weak floor) then kill the Stalfos
in the room. Go back and tigger the spikes then quickly run up where the top
spike sits and push the cube down twice, left twice, down twice and left two
more times into the hole to remove the gate on the mine cart tracks. Hop onto
the cart and when it takes you into the next room, go right a screen. Jump
onto the moving platform and equip your Seed Shooter. Angle it so it'll hit
the switch then fire a seed. When it hits the switch, a chest will appear with
a SMALL KEY inside -- collect it and go back into the previous room.

Go left a screen and use the small key on the locked block. Jump on the red
tile twice to turn it blue then go back into the previous room and take the
other cart (not the one you came in on.) As it goes south into the room with
the Stalfos, equip your Seed Shooter and shoot seeds at the Stalfos while
still riding the cart to kill them. Once all three are gone, the door to the
left will open -- go through it. Take the moving platforms to the southeast
corner of the room then go south a screen. Kill both peahats (spinning
enemies) in the room first then match the lower tiles with the upper patern
to make a SMALL KEY appear -- collect it and go back into the previous room.

Use the small key on the locked block then take the mine cart to the other side
of the tracks. When you get off, kill the Gibdo (mummy enemy), pick up the
pots for items, then go left a screen to fight the mini-boss of this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Armos Warrior

This battle isn't overly difficult, but you may have some trouble. The Armos
Warrior will toss his magical sword up and it'll begin chasing after you. The
goal is to make the sword accidentally hit the Armos Warrior instead of you.
To do so, follow him around the room, but make sure you keep some distance to
avoid taking damage. After three hits from his sword, the Armos Warrior's
shield will break and he'll start charging after you in anger. To defeat him,
simply wait for him to charge, then move out of the way and let him crash into
the wall, stunning him for a second -- this is when you attack. After a few
slashes from Link's sword, he'll be defeated and the warp portal will be
activated -- go south a screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kill the Stalfos then head up the stairs. Kill the worm-like enemy here then
go south a screen and cross the bridge to the right. Go right a screen and
bomb the cracked wall then go north into the next room. This is the first
tile puzzle in the game, and can be confusing if you don't know which path to
take. Below is the solution to this room; just follow the arrows. An 'A'
stands for 'Armos Statue' while the 'F' stands for Finish and the 'S' stands
for 'Start.'

Once the tile puzzle has been solved and the chest appears, open it to get the
SWITCH HOOK. Head left into the next room and test out your new Switch Hook on
the diamond object to switch places with it. Go back into the mini-boss room
and head right a screen. (Note: this guide is always available at game faqs
[dot] com) Take the stairs to the north then face right and use your Switch
Hook on another diamond object across the way to switch places with it. Go
south a screen and kill the mummy enemy then head right into the next room.
Use your switch hook on the diamond to get across the lava, kill the Stalfos
then stand on the switch. While standing on the switch, Switch Hook the
diamond to switch places with it, thus holding the switch down.

Head up the stairs then south into the next room. From here, go right two
screens, north two screens and left one screen then take the stairs down. Kill
both mummies then go north a screen and kill all the snakes. Stand on the
bottom part of the room and switch with the diamond object across the lava
using your Switch Hook. Once on the isolated island surrounded by lava, switch
with the pot to the right then switch back and forth with the diamond again
until you get it on the switch but you also must be able to reach the door.
Once it's on the switch, head through the door that opens and go left a room.

When you enter, use your Switch Hook on Pot #1, then from there, switch with
Pot #2, then with #3. From #3, switch with #4 and finally switch with #5
behind the blocks and take the stairs and go south a room. Hop over the tile
in the center of this room to change the color of the tiles in the room. Be
quick and slash as many blobs as possible before they camouflage themselves
again. Continue changing the colors and slashing the blobs until they're all
defeated -- go left a room. Hop over the lava with Roc's Feather and watch
out for the sensor spikes on the other side; go left a room. Kill the snakes
first then exit/re-enter to solve the tile puzzle. Here's the solution, and
remember: 'A' stands for 'Armos Statue,' 'F' stands for 'Finish,' 'C' stands
for 'Chest' and 'S' stands for 'Start.'

Once you finish the tile puzzle, open the chest to get a SMALL KEY then go
north a screen. Hop onto the moving platform then use your Switch Hook on
the diamond object to get off the moving platform. On the left side now, wait
for the single moving platform to arrive then step on it and jump over the lava
with Roc's Feather to be in front of the Boss Door -- go up the stairs. Kill
the bats in this underground area then jump up the steps and take the moving
platforms over to the other side -- climb the ladder to exit. Use your small
key on the locked block and go left a screen then switch with the two diamond
objects to get over the gap, go left again.

Head down the stairs to the south and equip your Power Bracelet. Pull the
switch all the way to make ground appear over the lava, then quickly run all
the way around to the upper-side before the floor disappears again. If done
correctly, you should make it right when the lava reaches you -- go north into
the next room. Pull the next switch the same way you did the other to make
the ground appear, then quickly run down and pick up the first pot with your
Power Bracelet -- stand on this tile to ensure you won't fall into the lava
once the floor disappears. From here, just use your Switch Hook to switch from
pot to pot until you reach the end -- go north into the next room.

Go up the stairs to the right and jump over the lava with Roc's Feather. Use
your Switch Hook to switch with the pot below you then push the pot to the
right of you over one tile. Look up and switch to the pot up on the ledge
then push the pot to the north of you up a tile. Go in front of the pot you
just pushed and switch to the one behind the barricade. Now push the final
pot onto the switch to make a chest appear then switch back to the pot on the
other side of the barricade and open the chest to get the BOSS KEY. From
here, jump off the ledge to the right, go south a screen then right a screen
and switch with the diamonds. Take the stairs down, go back through the
underground area and enter the boss door when you emerge to face off against
the boss of this level.

BOSS: Eyesoar

Items: Heart Container, Burning Flame

Eyesoar isn't really a difficult boss to beat, so as long as you have a full
(or close to full) energy meter. First, get rid of one or two of the four
mini-eyesoars then use your Switch Hook to grab Eyesoar, causing the remaining
mini-eyesoars to scatter. Run up to Eyesoar and slash it with your sword.
Repeat this until it's defeated then pick up the HEART CONTAINER from the
center of the room. Head north into the next room to pick up the BURNING FLAME
from the pedestal. Congratulations, you're now done with 4/8 main dungeons!

*******************************************************************************

                              Rolling Ridge Base

Items: Heart Piece, Ring, Pegasus Seeds

Either backtrack into Lynna City or use a Gale Seed to warp back then make your
way northeast over to where Nayru's house is. Use your Harp of Ages to
activate the portal then go through it to return to the past. Hop over the
gaps with Roc's Feather then go north right a screen, north a screen and left
a screen to find some pits with a diamond on each side. Use your Switch Hook
on the one to the left then go left a screen and enter the cave to find some
Gorons. If you talk to all of the Gorons, you'll learn that the Elder Goron
is trapped under some rocks and they need a Bomb Flower to get him out. Leave
the cave and play the Tune of Currents to return to the present.

Now in the present, go back into the cave and head right a screen. Take the
lower stairs and head left a screen. Go up the small flight of steps then take
the stairs to the right. If you go up and right, you'll find a piece of the
wall that looks odd -- bomb it and go through to get a HEART PIECE. Head back
down and exit through the south opening back into the overworld. If you
go right a screen, up the steps and north a screen, you'll find Moblin's Palace
where you'll be able to get a RING by going through the underground area. Go
back into the overworld and head south a screen then right two screens to find
a cave entrance and a rock -- move the rock to reveal a warp portal.

Play the Tune of Echos to activate the portal then go back in time. Head left
a screen then go up the steps to the north. Cross the bridge to the left to
find some PEGASUS SEEDS on the next screen. Slash the tree with your sword
to get the seeds then play the Tune of Currents to warp back to the present.
Go south, right and north to enter Moblin's Palace again. This time, use a
Pegasus Seed to outrun the disappearing floor and take the stairs twice to
fight Moblin.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Moblin

Items: Bomb Flower

Moblin can be pretty tough if you're low on health. All damage dealt in this
fight is done with bombs: Moblin tosses big bombs down at you while his two
minions throw normal bombs at you at the same time. To dodge the normal bombs,
just stand still and wait for them to throw it, then move out of the way. The
goal is to pick up the large bombs and throw them back at Moblin just as they
are about to detonate to ensure he doesn't throw it back in your face. After
six hits from the large bombs, Moblin will be defeated and the Gorons will
thank you by giving you a BOMB FLOWER of your very own.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From here, head south a screen then right two screens and play the Tune of
Echos to activate the portal -- go through it to return to the past. Go left
two screens, hop off the cliff, go left one screen and enter the Goron Cave
once again. When the Goron asks for your Bomb Flower, give it to him so he
can free the Elder Goron. Once the Elder Goron is free, he'll give you the
Crown Key, which accesses the next level. Follow the path inside the cave,
taking the stairs as you come to them -- you should exit up where you came
from. Go right a screen and north a screen then play the Tune of Currents to
return to the present.

Go inside the cave which used to be Moblin's Palace and equip your Pegasus
Seeds along with Roc's Feather. Use a Pegasus Seed then jump over the large
gap to the center platform. Do the same to the gap on the right and go right
a screen. Hop across the gaps on the bottom of this screen then go south to
exit the cave. Head left to find the door which leads into level 5, and use
your Crown Key on it to enter.

Start off by going north into the next room and kill all the enemies here to
open the door to the north -- go through it. Kill both armed enemies then go
left two screens and north into the next room. Kill the enemies to make a
flight of stairs appear to mthe north; take these stairs. Equip Roc's Feather
and jump over the gap, kill the enemies then use your Switch Hook to place the
diamond onto the switch in the lower-right corner of the room to hold the door
open -- go south into the next room. Kill the enemies if you wish then take
the stairs up. Go south two rooms and hit the switch to switch the barricades
then make your way right two screens.

Equip your Seed Shooter and stand in between the two bottom statues. Fire one
shot at the left statue then immediately face the north statue and fire one at
it. If done properly (and quickly) a chest will appear with a SMALL KEY
inside -- collect it. Leave the same way you came in and hit the switch to
swap the barricades again then stand on top the red barricades and use the Seed
Shooter (or if you want to save seeds, use the Switch Hook) to hit the switch
again. Hop off to the north and go up into the next room -- take the stairs
and open the chest in the next room for another SMALL KEY.

Take the stairs again and go right two screens. Use your Seed Shooter on the
switch to lower lower the red barricade, then hit it again with your sword
and go right (lower path, behind blue barricade) a screen. Head right then
south two screens and make your way into the next room to the right. Open the
chest to find the DUNGEON MAP then go back into the previous room. Use one of
your small keys on the locked door. Ignore the statues and take the stairs
down. Equip your ember seeds on the Seed Shooter then fire it at the rotating
panels at the correct time to light all four torches in the room, thus opening
the door to the left -- go through it.

If you step on the switch here, you can get a quick glampse at the pattern you
must make with the statues on the left. Hop over the gap and push all the
statues into their correct spots to solve the puzzle. Here's the solution
(actual solution on the left, how to solve it on the right):

                | | V
                | B |
                |_____|

If that's too confusing: push statue #1 left then up; push statue #2 right then
down twice; push statue #3 down to where #2 was; push statue #4 right, up then
left where #1 used to be; finally, push statue #5 up to where #4 was and a
chest will appear -- open it to get the CANE OF SOMARIA. Go back into the
previous room and take the stairs again. In this next room, push each statue
onto a switch then use the Cane of Somaria to create a block on the last
switch -- open the chest for another SMALL KEY. Leave this room by going right
then head north and left to get back to the room with the barricade switch --
hit it then go right (upper path) and take the stairs behind the lowered red
barricade.

Kill the bats in this room then stand on the first strip of red barricade and
hit the switch. Jump down onto the blue barricade and hit it again. Once on
the left side of the switch, hit it again to lower the blue barricade then
leave this room and go left into the next. Avoid the armos statue with the
ball/chain and take the stairs in this room to enter an underground area. Use
Roc's Feather to get across the moving platforms and climb the ladder to the
right. This next part will be pretty frustrating as well as difficult. Equip
the Cane of Somaria and use it to determine where the floor is and where the
gaps are. If a block appears, there's floor, if not, it's a gap. Start off
going right and make your way to the chest for another SMALL KEY.

Instead of backtracking in the dark, just use your Switch Hook on the diamond
north of you and take the stairs again. Go back through this underground area
and emerge in the room with the armos with the ball/chain -- ignore it and go
right a screen. Hit the switch to remove the barricades then take the stairs.
Go back to the 2nd room north of the level entrance and go right (lower path)
two screens then hop off the ledge and take the stairs to the south. Move the
pots out of your way and take the next set of stairs -- you'll be in another
underground area. Go through here, killing the bats, and use your Cane to
create blocks which you can then jump onto to reach high up platforms. Once
you reach the other side, climb the ladder.

Stand on the left side of the blocks and aim your Seed Shooter over to the
switch -- shoot a seed at the switch to lower the red barricades then go
right and shoot the switch again (once you've passed the first set of red
barricades) to lower the blue ones -- go north into the next room and hop over
the gap with Roc's Feather. Here, the two statues you see will move along
with each other if you push them. You must first push them up, then to the
left so the bottom statue is in place, then place a block to the right of the
bottom statue using your Cane then push the top statue back over to the right
until it's lined up with the colored tile. Go back to the lower statue and
place a block below it then finally go back and push the top statue down to
make a chest appear -- open it for a SMALL KEY.

Go back to the room where you first went down the stairs then head up a screen
and right into the next room where you'll find some gaps and bats. Kill the
bats first, so they won't get in your way, then equip Roc's Feather and use
a Pegasus Seed to get over the gaps. Use one of your small keys on the door
then go right into the next room to fight the mini-boss of this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Smasher

Yet another easy mini-boss battle. You may remember Smasher from Link's
Awakening (those who've played it) -- he's the one who looks like a stingray
and carries around a large, metallic ball. His only attack is throwing this
ball at you (but if you run into him, you'll take damage as well, as with
all bosses in this game) and the only attack you can use on him is throwing
the ball back at him. When it throws it, it will teleport and land -- grab
it with your Power Bracelet and throw it at him. Continue this until he's
defeated, thus activating the warp portal. Go north a screen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kill the guard in this next room then use the Cane of Somaria to place a block
onto the switch which will create a bridge over the gap -- cross it. Use the
Switch Hook on one of the diamonds then open the chest to get the COMPASS.
Switch with one of the diamonds again then go north and take the stairs down
into another underground area. Jump onto the moving platform then jump off
on the other side and go right a screen. Jump from moving platform to moving
platform then take the ladder down on the other side. Ignore the guards in
here and take the stairs to the north. Stand on the lowered blue barricade
then use your Switch Hook on the switch to change the barricades. Still
walking on top of the blue barricades, go left then south.

Use one of your small keys on the locked block then go north and left. Use
yet another small key on the locked block near the north of the room and hit
the switch to raise the red barricades. Go up the stairs onto the ledge in
the lower-right corner of this room then jump off the ledge to the north so
you'll be standing on top of the red, raised barricades. Go north a screen
and take the stairs to get to the next room. Kill the bats then use your
Switch Hook to lower the red barricade. Stand on the red barricade then hit
the switch again with your Switch Hook to lower the blue barricade. Climb
up the steps and use your last small key on the locked door.

Ignore the Armos with the ball/chain and take the stairs behind the lowered
blue barricade to enter yet another underground area. Use the Cane of Somaria
to create a block then use Roc's Feather to jump onto it and get to the ladder
on the other side -- climb it to exit. Talking to the owl (use a Mystery Seed
on it) here reveals that you must surround the owl with the statues in the
room (hence the "Bring all to me.") However, these statues are the ones
that move along with each other. Use the Cane of Somaria to block statues
from moving until you get them all in place. Open the chest that appears to
get the BOSS KEY. Leave this room, go back through the underground area and
backtrack to the room where you got the Dungeon Map to find the boss door, go
through to face off against the boss of this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Smog

Items: Heart Container, Sacred Soil

This boss fight is pretty difficult, so pay attention. Smog will break up
into parts and you must get them to recombine by placing a block from the Cane
of Somaria in between them. Once they combine, slash Smog as many times as
possible. There are four different phases of blocks, starting with... the
first phase has two sets of three blocks, one on top and one on bottom (both
the same pattern.) Use your Cane of Somaria to place a block on the top of
the bottom set of blocks to combine the pieces of Smog, then slash him with
your sword to start the second phase.
                                                    ______
                                                   | |
                                                   | |
          ______ ______ +------|______|
         | | | | | S1 | |
         | | | | | | |
         |______| |______|------+------|______|
         | | | | S4 |
         | | | | |
         |______|------+------|______|------+ S1 -- First Cane Block
         | | S2 | S3 | | S2 -- Second Cane Block
         | | | | | S3 -- Third Cane Block
         |______|------+------|______| S4 -- Fourth Cane Block

Phase two consists of three sets of blocks. On the right side of the room,
place a block in between the far-right set of blocks and the set of blocks
in the center (S1). If the pieces of Smog won't combine, slash one of them to
make it stop while the other comes along. Remember to watch out for the clouds
the pieces spit at you (they can be destroyed with your sword.) Once the
first two pieces are combined, place a block on the left side between the two
three-set blocks (S2) then wait for the smog piece to land on it. Immediately
place one next to the S2 block (S3) and it'll change its course. Finally,
place a block in between the right and center sets (S4) and slash the small
one until they combine -- slash Smog three more times to bring on phase three.

For the third phase, you must first get the piece from the left over to the
center. To do so, place a block to the left of the far left set then when
the smog piece goes on top of it, place one directly next to it and it'll
change it's course to the middle set of blocks. Now, to get them combined,
simply place a block to the right of the two center blocks and slash to stall
one of them utnil they combine. Slash the combined form of Smog three times to
move on to the last phase!

The final phase consists of several groups of blocks. First, get the two
pieces on the right combined, then go over to the left and slowly get it to
move over to the center by placing blocks in its path. Once they combine,
slash it three times to win. Some random tips for this battle: watch out for
the lightning the combined form of Smog spits at you as well as the clouds
the mini-smogs spit at you. If you step on the switch in the corner of the
room, you can start all over on phase one. Once he's defeated, collect the
HEART CONTAINER then go north into the last room to get the SACRED SOIL.

*******************************************************************************

                                 Rolling Ridge

Items: Brother Emblem, Gasha Seed (2), Rock Brisket, Lava Juice, Goron Vase,
Goronade, Letter of Introduction, Old Mermaid Key, Mermaid Key

As you leave the fifth dungeon, you'll be approached by a Goron who tells you
there's a new tunnel which will give you access to the rest of Rolling Ridge.
He also tells you there are new games to play. Head right a screen and enter
the cave via the entrance on the right. Follow the narrow path and take the
stairs at the end. In this next room, push the rocks out of the way and exit
to the south. Head right a screen, north a screen and enter the cave. Take
the stairs down which lead to the Rolling Ridge Base then exit this room to
the south. Go down two screens, right two screens and north a screen to find
two caves -- enter the one on the right (unless you're low on health, in which
case you can find a couple of Red Fairies in the left cave.)

Talk to the Gorons in this room if you want, otherwise go north a screen into
the Dance Hall. Talk to the blue Goron in the center of the room and pay him
10 rupees to play the Goron Dancing game. The goal is to emulate the blue
Goron's moves as well as his rhythm. There are two dance moves: posing (A)
and moving (B) -- each has its own tune. The key to winning is to listen to
the sounds very closely and memorize them then perform them after you're
signaled to do so. You can miss only three times then you'll have to start
over and pay another 10 rupees. You must complete a total of 6 dance sessions
to win the main prize, the BROTHER EMBLEM.

TIP: Try using headphones to better hear the sounds (thanks to Michael LeDang
for this tip.)

You can continue playing for other prizes if you wish, otherwise go south a
screen and show the Brother Emblem to the Goron blocking the stairs. He'll
move, allowing you to pass. Once inside this next room, use your Switch Hook
to switch with all the diamonds to get to the other side -- take the stairs.
In this next room, head over to the other side and take another flight of
stairs. In this next room, you can go north to find the Big Bang owner, but
it's useless to do so now, so take the stairs. Hop off the ledge to the right
and open the chest for a GASHA SEED. Hop off the ledge and exit to the left.

Make your way back to where you played the Goron Dancing game and head left
a screen from the entrance of it. Slash away the shrubs to reveal a time
portal and play the Tune of Echoes to activate it. Warp back to the past,
swim through the water to the right then go south a screen to find a sapling;
burn it with an Ember Seed to reveal a staircase. Take these stairs down and
talk to the elderly man inside to get 200 rupees. Exit this room go north into
the cave that leads to the Dancing game. Talk to the Goron blocking the stairs
and show him the Brother Emblem to make him move. After allowing you to pass,
he'll ask you to find a heirloom for him.

Take the now-accessible stairs that were behind the Goron and equip your
Pegasus Seeds as well as Roc's Feather. Use a Pegasus Seed to run faster then
jump over the gaps using Roc's Feather. Once you reach the left side of the
room, take the stairs. Exit this cave to the south and go south a screen.
Kill the enemies first then use your Switch Hook on the plant to move it under
the ledge to the right. Once it's in place, play the Tune of Currents to warp
back into the present time and you'll see a vine in its place. Climb the
vine and go right a screen. Enter the cave here which will lead you into the
Target Carts.

The goal is to shoot all 12 targets with your Seed Shooter. If you shoot at
least 9, you'll receive 20 rupees for your trouble. However, if you want to
get the prize (a Rock Brisket) you'll have to shoot all 12. Most of them are
easy to hit, but the last four can be tough, as you have to aim your Seed
Shooter diagonally to hit the one in the corner, then quickly aim at the last
three before the cart passes them. If you get all 12, the ROCK BRISKET will
be yours. You can continue playing for more prizes (rupees, Gasha Seed,
Boomerang), otherwise leave.

Lift the rocks outside to reveal a time portal then play the Tune of Echoes to
activate it. Warp back to the past then enter the cave to the north to play
the Goron Gallery shooting game. It costs 20 rupees per play and the goal is
to hit the balls that are shot at you with your sword so they hit the blocks
and statues on the playing field. A red block is -10 points, a blue is +30
points. A fairy is +100 points, while the imps are -50 points. If you miss
the ball (a strike) you get -50. I'm not sure what the minimum amount of
points you need for the LAVA JUICE, but I got it with 150. You can continue
playing to win a Boomerang for 400 points.

Leave this room and jump off the next two ledges. Play the Tune of Currents
to return to the Present then enter the cave. Talk to the Goron who was
blocking the stairs earlier and give him the Rock Brisket in exchange for his
GORON VASE. Leave the cave and warp back to the past then re-enter the cave
and give the Goron Vase to the Goron by the stairs in exchange for GORONADE.
Leave the cave once again and play the Tune of Currents to return to the
present. Enter the cave again and take the stairs behind the Goron who gave
you the Vase. Use your Switch Hook on the diamonds to get across the gaps then
take the stairs on the other side.

Hop off the ledge and take the stairs then go north into the next room and give
the Goron here your Goronade. He'll let you play his game (first try for free,
20 rupees per play after that) which isn't all that difficult. Equip your
Pegasus Seeds and use them to dodge all of the bombs that drop down at you.
If you get hit even once, you lose, so dodge as best as possible. Once all the
bombs are gone, you'll receive the OLD MERMAID KEY if you're still standing.
You can play again for a ring, otherwise leave and take the staircase to the
right. Hop off the ledge then exit the cave to the southwest. Head left a
screen and enter the cave here. Make your way all the way back to the entrance
to the Goron Dancing game and go left a screen from it to find the time portal.

Play the Tune of Echoes to activate it then warp back to the past. Head left
the north and enter the cave. Bomb away the cracked blocks and open the chest
for another GASHA SEED then go right a screen and use your Switch Hook on the
diamonds to cross the gap. Take the stairs on the other side then exit the
cave and go south a screen. Hop off the ledge then enter the cave below to
find a Goron inside. Give him the Lava Juice and he'll give you a LETTER OF
INTRODUCTION in exchange, which you can use to be introduced to the Graceful
Goron. Take the stairs in this room then go right and use your Pegasus Seed
along with Roc's Feather to cross the gaps then take the stairs to re-enter
the Goron Dancing room.

Head north a screen and talk to the Graceful Goron. If you can imitate his
rythms once again, you'll be rewarded with the MERMAID KEY. Some of the tunes
are different this time, so pay close attention and use the same strategy you
did the last time you played. Once you have the Mermaid Key leave this room
and go left a screen. Swim through the large waterfall you see then use the
Old Mermaid key on the door to open it. Go through to enter the sixth level of
the game.

                            |#|#|#|#|#|#|#|#|

Start off by going north then left and jump over the tile in the center of the
room to change the color of the floor. Kill the blobs before they camouflage
themselves again and once they're all gone, open the chest that appears to get
the COMPASS. Go back to the entrance of the level and bomb the right wall --
go through into the next room and wait for the mages to appear. Slash them
with your sword when they show up to kill them and once all are gone, open the
chest to get a GASHA SEED. Head right a screen and kill the three candle
enemies in here by shooting (or throwing) Ember Seeds at them. Once they're
gone, go through the door to the north and swim through the water to the left
and you'll find a chest with the DUNGEON MAP inside.

Swim right two screens then get out onto the land to the south. Take out your
Seed Shooter and fire an Ember Seed at the upper-left torch to light it. After
that, bank a seed off the right wall so it lights the upper-center torch,
followed by the lower-center one and finally the upper-right torch to make the
wall move. Backtrack to the first room then head north twice. Take the stairs
down to the lower area to the right then go north a screen.

To kill the candle enemies, use Ember Seeds on them. Once all have been
melted and the bats killed, the door to the right will open -- go through it.
Hop over the single gaps with Roc's Feather and kill the two enemies to make
a chest appear. Hop back over then open the chest to get a SMALL KEY. Go
back into the previous room the go south and head back up the stairs to the
higher area, where you'll find a locked door to the left. Use your small key
on the door to go through and kill the mage that appears when you enter.
Equip the Cane of Somaria and place a block on the right switch. Go around
to the other side and move all the pots except the middle one. Push it down
twice then right once so it sets on the switch, opening the door to the north.

Equip Roc's Feather and jump over the gaps to reach the door, then go north
into the next room. Kill the mage and the hands quickly before they get you
then bomb your way through the blocks ahead. Place a bomb a little more than
half-way from the left on the north wall to reveal an opening (if you run out
of bombs, pick up the pots below to get more) -- don't go through this opening
now (you can but it will lead to nowhere but another locked door.) Instead,
go back to the entrance of the dungeon and leave back into the overworld.
Play the Tune of Currents to warp back to the present and re-enter the dungeon
using the Mermaid Key.

                       LEVEL 6: MERMAID'S CAVE (PRESENT)

Items: Map, Small Key (3), Mermaid Suit, Boss Key

                                Present F1

                            |#|#| |A|#|#|#|#|

                            |#|#|S| | |#|#|#| B - Boss Key
                            |#|#|#|#|#|#|#|#|

Go north a screen and kill the snakes then go north into the next room. Head
through the door on the left and use your Switch Hook on the diamond to get
across the gap. Open the chest on the other side to get the DUNGEON MAP.
Use the Switch Hook to get back across the gap then go back into the previous
room. Take the stairs down the lowered area and swim across the water. Go
north a screen and use your Seed Shooter to fire a seed at the switch in this
room. Once shot, the floor will change -- follow it to the upper-right corner
then shoot the switch again to change the floor back. Go right into the next
room.

If you check the owl with a Mystery Seed, you'll learn at scents seduce beasts.
Equip your Scent Seeds (in the Seed Satchel, not the shooter) and place on near
the right side of the room. The snakes behind the blocks will be attracted to
it and fall through the gap in the ground, thus making a chest appear -- open
it to get a SMALL KEY. (Reminder: check game faqs dot com for the latest
revisions of this guide) Go back into the previous room and hit the switch with
the Seed Shooter to make the floor change. Go to the lower-left corner of the
room and shoot the switch again -- go left into the next room. Place a bomb
in between the two blocks along the south wall to reveal an opening; go through
it. Swith with the first diamond then with the diamond across the gap and
bomb the south wall.

Go south through the opening just just made and hop over one of the gaps so you
have access to the colored cube in the center of the room. The goal is to
remove each of the three colored tiles on the floor and to do so, the color
on the cube must match the color of the tile you push it onto. Below is the
solution to this puzzle:

Red: Push it down once then left twice to remove the red tile
Yellow: From red, push it right twice, up once, left once, down once, right
twice, up twice, left once, down once, left once, down once and
            right three times.
Blue: From yellow, push it left once, up twice, left twice, down twice,
right once, up once, left once, up once, right once and up once.

Once all three tiles are gone a chest will appear, open it to get a SMALL KEY.
Exit this room the same way you came in and use your Switch Hook on the diamond
in the next room to get back across the gap. Go north and hop over the gap
in this room. If you bombed the wall here in the past (which you should have)
you'll see an opening -- go through it and take the revolving doors; you should
end up facing north. Go up into the next room the drop off the ledge and head
south a screen. Take both revolving doors again and you should end up facing
south. Go left into the next room then go north near the left wall to find
a chest with another SMALL KEY inside.

Hop off the ledge then go south and right to come to the second revolving
door again; take it and exit to the north. Hop off the ledge (pick up pots
for a fairy and some hearts before jumping off) then go south and take the
first revolving door one last time -- you should be facing right. Go up the
steps and head north a screen then right two times. Go north, lift the pots
for more hearts then use one of your Small Keys on the locked door to the
north; go through it to fight the mini-boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Vire

Vire is a bat who serves another evil being, Veran. To deal damage, use your
sword to slash him when he charges at you. While it may be tempting to just
run after him and slash away, it's best to just stay put in the center of the
room and wait for him to come to you, as he'll run away really fast if you
try to go after him. Beware of his fireballs, as they can do damage if you
don't slash them out of your way. Once he's been hit enough times, he'll
split into two smaller bats -- kill them both to end the fight and activate
the warp portal.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the battle is over, grab the red fairy then go right into the next room
and kill the mages. Equip your bombs and time your throw so it hits one of
the cracked blocks behind the barrier. Once one of them is gone, take out
your Switch Hook and use it on the diamond then go north up the steps. Open
the chest to get the MERMAID SUIT. Switch with the diamond again then go
back into the previous room and take the warp portal back to the dungeon
entrance. From here, go right a screen, kill the candle enemies with your
Seed Shooter (use Ember Seeds) then go right another screen. Avoid the giant
spikes in this room and use one of your Small Keys on the locked door to the
north.

Switch across the gap and open the chest to get the COMPASS then hop into the
water (you'll notice that you can swim much more quickly now using your
Mermaid Suit by rapidly tapping the left or right button on your d-pad.) Go
right and take the stairs down into the underground area. Hop over the first
three blocks with Roc's Feather (watch out for the bats and spike pit below)
then go right a screen and take the moving platform to the other side; climb up
the ladder. Watch out for the mages in this room and use one of your Small
Keys on the locked block to the north. Go left a screen (on the top) then
north a screen to find two switches.

The owl here isn't much help but you can talk to him if you want using a
Mystery Seed (all he says is "Test your luck.") Equip your Power Bracelet and
pull one of the switches to make some snakes fall down. Kill them and pull
one of them again. Keep pulling and killing snakes and on one of the pulls,
a chest will appear -- open it to get the BOSS KEY. Go back into the
previous room and take the stairs back into the underground area. Use the
Cane of Somaria to create a block on the left side of the underground area
then climb the ladder to exit. Backtrack to the entrance of the dungeon then
exit back into the overworld and warp back to the past.

                        LEVEL 6: MERMAID'S CAVE (PAST)

Items: Small Key (2)

                             Past F1 Basement

                            |#|#| |K|#|#|#|#|
                            | | | |#|#|#|#|#|

                            |#|#|#|#|#|#|K|#| # - Inaccessible
                            |#|#|#|#|#|#| | |
                            |#|#|#|#| | |#|#|
                            |#|#|#|#|#|#|#|#|
                            |#|#|#|#|#|#|#|#|

From the entrance, go right two screens, kill the candle enemies by shooting
Ember Seeds at them, then go north a screen. Hop into the water and go right
a screen to where the deep water is (differently colored than the normal
water.) Dive down (B) and you'll enter an underwater area. Swim left then
go under the blocks and swim right -- take the stairs to enter an underground-
underwater area. Swim right a screen then exit to the north. This room is
odd, as it has a moving floor and you can easily be sucked into one of the
holes in the floor, so watch out. Go north into the next room and kill the
snakes with your Seed Shooter to make a chest appear with a SMALL KEY inside.

Once you have the small key, backtrack out of the underwater area and then
back into the entrance room of the dungeon. Head north two screens then left
a screen and use the Cane of Somaria to place a block on the right switch.
Push the center pot onto the left switch then hop over the gaps with Roc's
Feather -- go north into room where you blew up the north wall earlier. Bomb
away the blocks and go through the opening to find a revolving door. Take it
around to the right then dive down (B) into the deep water on the left side
of the room.

Take the left path to the north and open the chest for some rupees, then
quickly swim past the arrows and go right a screen. Ignore the statue and
snakes in this room and go north into the next. Kill both snakes in here
using your Seed Shooter then go right into the next room. Move each of the
six diamonds onto a tile using your Switch Hook to make a chest appear with
a SMALL KEY inside. After getting it, backtrack to the first room and exit
this underwater area. Once back on dry ground, go left a screen and use your
Small Key on the locked block to the left.

Use the Cane of Somaria to place a block on the switch until the panels are
both slanting up to the left (\\) then fire seeds from the Seed Shooter so
one hits the switch up above, thus creating a bridge to your right. Cross
the bridge and lift the pots for supplies, then go through the boss door when
ready to face off against the boss for this level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Octogon

Items: Heart Container, Bereft Peak

This is one of the easier bosses in the game, as all you really need is your
sword. Stand on the platforms in the center of the room and wait for Octogon
to come near, then slash him with your sword as many times as possible. When
he ducks his head under water, dive down (B) (make sure you sword is set on A,
or you'll surface when pressing B) and slash him some more until he returns to
the surface. Get back on the platforms and continue attacking until he's dead.
Collect the HEART CONTAINER then go right a screen to pick up the sixth Essence
of Time, BEREFT PEAK.

*******************************************************************************

                                 Ambi's Palace

Songs: Tune of Ages

Upon finishing the sixth dungeon, you'll learn that Ambi has left the castle,
meaning this is your only chance to save Nayru. Leave the sixth dungeon and
go back into the overworld then use a Gale Seed to warp to the Ember Seed
tree in South Shore. From here (still the past) go north a screen to re-enter
Lynna Village. Head north, left, north and left to run into Ralph again.
After talking to him, he'll run off into the palace entrance -- follow him.
Go north two screens and you'll be left to go in one of three directions.

This next sequence is very similar to the one in Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
as you must sneak past the guards in the garden of the palace. The goal is
to step on all four switches located in the garden to move the statues on the
right side of the garden. There is a switch in every corner and each is
guarded by two patrolling guards. Sneak past them and step on the switch; if
you get caught, you don't have to start all over, but make sure you aren't
caught before stepping on the switch. Once all four have been stepped on,
go to the middle-right side and slash away the bushes to reveal a hidden
staircase -- take it down.

Dive down into the water and swim left a screen. Watch out for the whirlpools
in this next room and go left into the next. Beware of the whirlpools in
this room and go left again then press B to surface on the left side of the
whirlpools. Exit the water and take the flight of stairs to the north to
enter the palace! Push the blocks out of your way and go left into the next
room. If the guards in the palace catch you, they'll attack instead of
throwing you out. Slash them a few times with your sword and they'll flee.
It's best, however, to avoid them. Avoid the guards in this room and go
north if you're low on health. Otherwise, take the stairs to the left and
go right a screen.

Watch out for the guards in here (especially the immobile one in the center
of the room) and leave to the lower-right. Follow the red path on the floor
north a screen and you'll find Nayru! However, Veran will possess her body
once again and you'll encounter a boss fight.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Nayru (Veran)

This battle will be just as easy as Octogon was in the sixth dungeon. First,
you must equip your Seed Shooter with Mystery Seeds and wait for Nayru (Veran)
to land. Once landed, run over and shoot a Mystery Seed at Nayru to make her
fall asleep then use the Switch Hook to pull Veran out of her body. Quickly
equip your sword then slash Veran as many times as possible before she takes
over Nayru's body again. The only attack Veran has is throwing fireballs at
you, but if you make Nayru fall asleep quickly enough, you can avoid these all
together. Once Veran's had enough, the battle will be over.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle's over, Queen Ambi will come in and Veran will possess her
body. Veran (speaking as the Queen) will order the guards to capture Link,
Ralph and Nayru, but Nayru warps back to the present just in time. After some
conversing amongst the three, Nayru will teach you the TUNE OF AGES which you
can play on your Harp of Ages to warp forward or backward in time whenever
you want. No more time portals! From the Maku Tree, head right a screen and
hop off the ledge. Go south then east to enter Yoll Graveyard again. In the
upper-right corner of the graveyard is a witch's hut -- swim through the water
to reach it and go inside.

Pay 300 rupees to buy the Magic Potion from her and if you have enough, buy
the Gasha Seed as well. Leave the graveyard and go back into Lynna Village.
From the shop, go left a screen and south then hop into the water to the left
of this screen. Swim south a screen then take the stairs south another screen.
Go south once more and hop into the water. Swim left once, south twice and
left once more to find a house. Stand in front of the house and play the
Tune of Ages to warp back to the past. Get into the water in front of the
house and swim left two screens then take the stairs onto land.

Play the Tune of Ages while on dry land and you'll end up in the water. Dive
down (B) and swim right a screen to the north and use your switch hook on the
diamond to get across then surface (B) and play the Tune of Ages again while
standing on dry land. Swim left twice and south once then climb the stairs
onto dry land once again. Play the Tune of Ages (make sure you're not standing
past the blobs to your left, or the warp won't work) to return to the present
then dive down and go south a screen, use your Switch Hook on the diamond then
go left a screen to enter Zora Village.

                                  Zora Village

Items: Library Key, Book of Seals, Fairy Powder

Go north a few screens and enter King Zora's Palace if you wish. You can find
a chest inside with a red rupee (worth 200) inside. After talking to everyone,
you'll learn that the previous king died from an illness and there's been no
king ever since. When ready, leave the Palace and go south once then surface
(B) and go south one more screen to find a Gale Seed tree. Stand on this dry
land and play the Tune of Ages to warp back in time. Dive back down into the
water and head north a couple of screens to re-enter the palace. Take the
stairs and give the Magic Potion you bought earlier to the King to cure him
of his ailment.

Leave the Palace and return to the Gale Seed tree to warp back to the present
time. Go back into the palace and talk to the king. He'll tell you to clean
out the filthy seawater to the east and if you accept, you'll get the LIBRARY
KEY. Leave the palace and go right three screens then surface (B) and climb
the steps onto dry land. Play the Tune of Ages to go back in time then go
right a screen and unlock the Eyeglass Isle Library. Return to the previous
screen and use your Switch Hook on the diamond to get across the gap. Head
left a screen and enter the cave to talk the Queen Fairy (who was turned into
an Octorok by Veran.)

Talking to the Queen Fairy will activate the next event, so you must talk to
her before proceeding. Once finished, leave the cave and go right a screen.
Hop off the ledge then climb the stairs and warp back to the present. Go right
a screen and enter the library. Go all the way north and talk to the old man
to receive the BOOK OF SEALS. Leave the library and go left a screen to warp
back to the past. Re-enter the library in the past and go north a screen to
place the Book of Seals in the podium. You'll be given some arrows and numbers
telling you the direction in which you should move. An arrow tells you the
direction while the number tells you how many tiles to walk past in that
direction.

Follow each of the books' directions (remember, you can use the Cane of
Somaria to see where the ground is and where the gaps are and if you fall
through a gap, you'll have to start all over) until you reach the old man
who will give you the FAIRY POWDER. Leave the library and go left a screen
then use the Switch Hook on the diamond to get over to the cave -- enter it
and give the Fairy Powder to the Queen Fairy which will cure her, turning her
back into her original form.

Now that she can help, she'll cleanse the seas with her powers, removing the
blobs all over Zora Village. Go right a screen and warp back to the present.
Dive down and go left three screens then enter the Palace and talk to the king
who will dub you Zora Hero and allow you to go see Jabu-Jabu. Leave the
palace then go south, left and north twice to find Jabu-Jabu! Swim into
his mouth to enter the seventh dungeon of the game.

Start off by going north a screen and kill the enemies in this room to make
a chest appear with the COMPASS inside -- collect it then go back into the
entrance room. Go left into the next room and equip your Switch Hook. Don't
worry about the gaps you see in this room, as you can swim right over them
without falling through. Move the diamond in the upper-left corner of the room
down in front of the statue in the lower-left. Then go down and move the
last diamond (the one that's not in front of a statue) in front of the statue
in the upper-left corner to make a SMALL KEY drop from above -- grab it.

Head north into the next room and press B while hovering over the colored
tiles to surface. Get out of the water and go left a screen. Watch out for
the crabs and open the chest on the left side of the room to get the DUNGEON
MAP. From here, go north and swim across the water (beware of the statues
shooting fireballs at you) then go north again. Go north once more then right.
Watch out for the spinning blades and unlock the locked block with your
small key -- take the stairs. Head south then go around the bottom and finally
north on the left side to find the water level control room.

Step on the red switch to release water then backtrack to the stairs -- take
them down and when you come to the room with the statue that shoots fireballs,
drop through the gap in the floor to return to the first floor. Kill the
enemies in this room then go right, push the block to get into the next room.
Push the block in front of the chest then open it to get another SMALL KEY.
Go back to the room where you got the compass and head north and place a block
on the switch with your Cane of Somaria. Go through the door to the right
and swim over to the first set of stairs you come to -- get out of the water
and take the stairs up.

Go north and follow the path around to the right side of the room -- go north
into the next. Stand on the first raised platform then use your Switch Hook
on the pot across from you to get past the barrier of blocks. Hop off the
raised platform and go left a screen. Watch out for the spikes on the ground
and switch with the diamond to the north of you. Next, switch with the
diamond to the left with you and then the one to the south of you (across the
spikes) and finally the one to the right of you to reach the stairs -- take
them. Go north and use your Small Key on the locked door to reach the water
control room again. This time, step on the blue switch (the only one you
can step on) to bring the water back in.

Make your way back into the previous room then go south and take the stairs
again. Go all the way back to the screen with the stairs that lead from 2F
to 1F and go south from there. Hop into the deep water and swim over to the
right into the next room. Kill both worms in this room to make a chest appear
with a SMALL KEY inside -- grab it. Go back into the previous room then head
north a screen and left a screen. Dive down into the deep water here and
go around to the chest; open it for a GASHA SEED then take the stairs next
to it. Go down into the underground area and over to the right side into the
next screen where you'll fight the mini-boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Angler Fish

The Angler Fish really isn't that difficult, as he only has two attacks:
jumping on top of you and spitting bubbles at you. He'll bounce all around
the room, so look out. The easiest way to defeat his is by using your Seed
Shooter to first bring him down to the ground then slash him multiple times
with your sword before he gets back up. After enough slashes, he'll be dead
and the path will be clear. Climb the ladder to the right and once in the
next room, use your Small Key on the locked block and open the chest to get
the LONG SWITCH, an upgraded version of the Switch Hook.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use your new Long Switch on the diamond across the gap/barriers and go down
a screen. From here, take the stairs down over the gap to the right (don't
worry, you won't fall in) and go left (over the gap) into the next screen.
Head left again then north and take the stairs down. Once in this underground
area, swim around to the top-right side of the screen where the ladder is and
climb it. Go left a screen and use your Long Switch on the pot across the way
then jump up and into the water on the other side of the wall. Swim around
to the far-left wall and go up to exit the underground area.

Beware of the snake that comes at you when you enter this room and kill all
three enemies (the eletric enemy can be killed with the Seed Shooter) to make
a SMALL KEY fall from above -- collect it then go south a screen. Press B
on the yellow tiles to surface then go north two screens, push the blocks out
of your way and go right another. Beware of the spinning blades and take the
stairs, go south and around to the left side then north to the water control
room -- step on the red switch again to release the water. Leave the room
the same way you came in, go back around and take the stairs down to the
second floor.

Go south a screen and drop through the pit along the right wall to return to
the first floor. Hop off the ledge (or use your Long Switch to reach the
chest on ther other side of the room for a ring) and go south two screens.
Go to the lower-left corner of the room and use your Long Switch on the
diamond surrounded by water. To get out of this confined space, use the Long
Switch again on the pot to the north. Go around and move the diamond onto one
of the switches then use the Cane of Somaria to create a block on the other
switch, thus making a chest appear; open it to get another SMALL KEY. From
here, go right then north and use the Long Switch to place the diamond onto
the switch (or use the Cane of Somaria) and go right a screen once the door
opens.

Swim through the water and take the staircase up to the second floor once
you get to it. Head north, go to the right of the screen and go north again.
Stand on the first raised platform and use the Long Switch to get across then
go left once more. Avoid the spikes by switching from diamond to diamond
until you reach the stairs that lead to the third floor -- take them. Go north
then left to re-enter the water control room and step on the blue switch
again. Go back into the previous room then use your Long Switch on one of
the diamonds across the gap -- go north and use your Small Key on the locked
block to the left.

Head south a screen and step on the second blue switch then go back around and
down to the room with the staircase leading to the second floor. Ignore the
staircase and go south a screen then climb up the stairs to the raised ledge
on the left. Use the Long Switch on the diamond to the left then from there
use it on the diamond to the south. Go around and open the chest for another
SMALL KEY then head back into the previous room and take the stairs back down
to the second floor. Use the Long Switch on the diamond to the right to get
past the spikes then go right a screen and head south all the way to the
bottom. Go left twice and hop off the ledge then go left once more. Head
north then left and swim over the gap.

Switch with the diamond near the bottom of the screen and open the chest for
yet another SMALL KEY. Swim right then south then right once more and go onto
the raised platform in the upper-right corner. Use your Long Switch on the
pot across the way then go right two more screens. Head north twice then
once more on the right side of the room. Use the raised platforms/Long Switch
to get across and go left a room. Switch with the diamond and take the stairs
back up to the third floor. Head north, use your Long Switch on one of the
diamonds in the upper-right corner and go north again. From here, head left
twice and use one of your Small Keys on the locked door to the upper-right.

Open the chest in this room for another GASHA SEED. Use another Small Key
on the next locked door to mthe right and kill the room on this screen. Use
your final Small Key on the last locked door to the right and open the chest
in this room to get the BOSS KEY. Use your Long Switch on the diamond to the
left (behind the barrier) then go left, south and use your Long Switch on the
diamond to the south in this room. Go south one more time and take the stairs
back down to the second floor. Go right, south twice and take the stairs
back down to floor one. From the stairs, swim left then north and hop off the
ledge to be in the room with the warp portal. Go to the upper-left corner
and press B to surface then go up the steps and follow the narrow path right,
south and left to the boss door -- open it to face off against the boss.

BOSS: Plasmarine

Items: Heart Container, Rolling Sea

Yet another simple boss fight. This giant electric boss, Plasmarine, has about
three attacks: charging at Link, shooting energy balls at Link and charge
himself with electricity. Equip your Long Switch and when he charges at you,
simply dodge by swimming out of the way. Once he shoots an energy ball at you,
use your Long Switch on him to switch places, meaning the energy ball will hit
him instead. When he charges himself with eletricity, don't attack or you'll
take damage. After enough hits, he'll be defeated and you'll be rewarded with
a HEART CONTAINER. Go left into the next room and pick up the next essence of
time, the ROLLING SEA.

Zora Village (Revisit) / Zora Sea (Revisit)

Items: Zora Scale, Tokay Eyeball

View the cutscene about the Black Tower and Veran after finishing the seventh
dungeon then go south a screen when you're left to play again. You'll be
approached by one of the Zoras who will thank you for cleaning their sea and
saving their king then reward you with the ZORA SCALE. Go back to where the
Gale Seed tree is and play the Tune of Ages to warp back to the past. Dive
down (B) and leave Zora Village the same way you came in. Continue swimming
right until you reach a Zora -- talk to him and show him the Zora Scale so
he'll let you pass. Swim into the area where he was standing and surface (B)
then go right once and dive back down into the water to the north.

If you swim north a screen and go into the cave, you'll find a chest with a
ring inside, collect it and exit. Surface and you'll see a pirate ship
floating about -- approach it to board. Go around and talk to the captain who
tells you he's stuck in a storm. Give him your Zora Scale and he'll thank
you by giving you a TOKAY EYEBALL in return. Link will be left on the beach
while the pirates sail off to Holodrum, but they give you some advice before
leaving: head to Crescent Island! Go back to the patch of water and dive down
then emerge on the other side. Swim north three times and north once to find
the raft house. Go into the raft house and exit on the other side to ride the
raft. Go south two screens, right once, north twice and right once more to
reach Crescent Island.

*******************************************************************************

                           Crescent Island (Revisit)

Make sure you're still in the past then go south then right and hop into the
water. Swim down to the statue missing an eye and place the Tokay Eyeball
inside to open its mouth -- go inside. Head to the upper part of this room and
kill all the Gibdos (mummies) to open the door. Go through the door into the
next room. First, go to the north of the room and break the pot then walk
forward a bit to activate the spinning blade. Run away from it and hide in the
entrance alcove while it passes, then quickly run back up to where it was and
go down to the cracked block. Use a bomb to get past the block then move the
next pot and push the two squid enemies out of your way; go right a screen.

Equip the Cane of Somaria and use it in this dark room to find the path. Make
your way to the top of the room carefully and slowly so you don't fall into
a gap, and take the stairs down. Go to the side of this underground area and
climb the ladder to exit. Since you're blocked off, surface (B) and go onto
dry land. Push the center statue left once so it's lined up with the other
two then go north a screen. Here, you'll be presented with a maze; go north,
left, south, north (on the other side of the screen), north, right, right,
south, left, right (on the bottom path), south, north (on the right path),
north, left and enter the cave which happens to be last dungeon.

Stock up on items from the pots on the sides of the first room if you wish,
otherwise head north into the dark room and kill all the ghosts. Light the
unlit torches with your Ember Seeds (the owl simply tells you to listen for
a clink when you hit your sword on the wall) then push the statue in the
upper-left corner of the room down a spot and bomb the wall where it stood to
reveal a hidden opening. Go through this opening into the next room and bomb
the south block. Go down and bomb the top block of the row of three then open
the chest to the right for a SMALL KEY. Go around to the upper-left corner
of this room and bomb the blocks.

Bomb the next two blocks in the southwest corner of the room and use your Small
Key on the door to the south. In this next room, use your Long Switch on the
diamond to place it on one of the switches on the left side of the room. Equip
the Cane of Somaria and place a block on the other switch on the left side of
the room. Now, go over to the right side of the room and stand on the last
switch then equip your Seed Shooter with Ember Seeds and bank a seed off the
right wall so it hits the unlit torch to the north. Doing so will reveal a
hidden staircase in the center of the room; take this staircase down to the
first basement of the dungeon.

Go north and take the revolving door left a screen. Kill the ghosts here then
go north a screen and open the chest for another SMALL KEY. Go back into the
previous room and push the block to make a staircase appear -- take it down to
the second basement. Open the chest here to get the DUNGEON MAP then take the
stairs back up to the first basement. From here, go right and take the
revolving door back to the south. Use your Small Key on the locked block to
the right and go right a screen to find another revolving door - take it and
go south. Kill the ghosts and go left a screen then go down the steps to the
left of the screen and head north (walking along the lowered red blocks.) Head
up the steps to the left and go left a screen. Bomb the south wall and watch
out for the sensory spikes in this room.

Make your way to the upper-right corner (beware of the spinning blade here)
and open the chest for another SMALL KEY. Backtrack to the room south of the
revolving door and go north (on the raised ledge) this time. Head left a
screen and hit the switch to raise the red blocks/lower the blue blocks. From
the switch, go right, south and left then open the chest to the north to get
the COMPASS. Now, go back to the revolving door and go through it then exit
to the left. Ignore the stairs and go north, left, north, right and kill the
Stalfos with the SMALL KEY in its hand to collect it. From this room, go
south to find the revolving door again, but instead of taking it, take the
steps to the left and step on the switch instead to make another set of steps
appear below you.

Now, enter the revolving door from the north then take the steps to the left
and enter it again from the north to emerge on the right side - go right a
screen. Kill the ghosts in this room then go south and take the revolving door
to the left. Go all the way around back to the north of this revolving door
and take it again to emerge on the right - go right a screen. Kill the snakes
in this room then use one of your Small Keys on the door to the south. Time
for another tile puzzle! Kill the worms inside first then re-enter to solve.
'A' stands for 'Armos Statue' while 'S' stands for 'Start':

Once you reach the last tile, a chest will appear - open it to receive the
POWER GLOVE which allows you to lift heavy objects! Leave this room and go
back into the room with the revolving door - take it to the north and go up
into the next room. Kill the ghosts and use your Small Key on the locked door
to the north. Go right a screen then head south and hit the switch to lower
the red blocks/raise the blue then stand on the lowered red blocks and hit
the switch again with the Long Switch so you're standing on top of the raised
red blocks. Go north a screen and walk along the path of raised red blocks
until you come to break, use Roc's Feather to jump across then go left three
times. Take the stairs in the upper-left corner and kill the Gibdos (mummies)
on the next screen. Head right twice to fight the mini-boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MINI-BOSS: Blue Stalfos

The Blue Stalfos may look tough, but he really isn't that difficult to defeat.
He'll throw two types of energy balls at you: round ones and star-shaped ones.
The round ones can be hit back at him with your sword while the star-shaped
ones just explode and cause damage. Hit a round one back at him with your
sword and he'll turn into a bat - slash the bat as many times as possible
before he returns to his original form. If you get hit by a round energy
ball, you'll turn into a baby, slowing you down and he'll start slashing at
you with his scythe. After enough hits, he'll be defeated and the warp portal
will be activated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go south a screen and kill the mages then head left into the next room to find
some more mages - kill them and go left again. Watch out for the Armos
Warriors in here and use your Long Switch on the diamond to the left of the
room (behind the barriers.) Climb the steps and go north then left and use
the Long Switch on one of the pots below to get off the ledge. Go north a
screen and avoid the spinning blades in this room using Roc's Feather. When
you reach the top of the room, open the chest for a SMALL KEY then go right
a screen and open the chest in here to get the SLATE. Take the steps to the
right of the room south a screen and hop off the ledge then go right twice,
south once and left once. From here, go south and place the first Slate into
one of the slots then go left a screen.

Watch out for the snakes that come at you - kill them as well as the Mimics
below then go south a screen and unlock the locked block with your Small Key.
Head left then south to find another switch - equip your Power Glove and pull
it all the way back then use a Pegasus Seed and run down to the lower-right
corner of the screen - go right. Open the chest in this room to find the
second SLATE. (Note: this guide can be found at game faqs [dot] com) Take the
steps to the right north then hop off the ledge and go north again. Climb the
steps and use your Long Switch on the diamond to get across the gap then take
the stairs back up to the first basement. Move the block to the right, kill
the Armos Warriors then use your Power Glove on the giant statue to move it and
open the chest for a GASHA SEED.

Take the stairs back down to the second basement and hop off the ledge. Go
south, left and south then pull the switch out again and quickly cross the
floor to the lower-right corner and go right into the room where you got the
second Slate. Take the steps to the right north a screen then go right and
hop off the ledge. Kill the Armos Warriors in this room and lift the lower-
left giant statue with your Power Glove to reveal a hidden staircase - take it
down. Push the block to the left out of your way then switch with the diamond.
Switch with the next diamond across the gap and open the chest for the BOSS
KEY. Switch back and go right then take the stairs to the north.

Push the cube down three times and left once to turn the light blue then jump
over the gap and into the mine cart. Ride it into the next room then use your
sword to deflect the tiles which project themselves at you. Once all of them
are gone, open the chest to the north for another GASHA SEED then go south a
screen. Equip Roc's Feather and jump over each spinning blade/sensory spike
you come to until you reach the switch on the right side of the room -- step
on it to make the wall move then go right a screen. Kill the Chained Warrior
then go north a screen and open the chest for the third SLATE. Ride the cart
left a screen then ride the other cart left another screen.

Go north into the next (ice-covered) room and use your Seed Shooter (w/Ember
Seeds) to light the four Wickies, killing them - go through the right door
that opens and kill the Gidbos (mummies) then take the stairs down into an
underwater area. Swim to the right and exit north then kill the mini-Biris
with your Long Switch. Go north twice from here and step onto the moving
water. Avoid the gaps and go right a screen to get back to the normal land -
take the stairs down. Swim down, right then up and open the chest in this next
room to get the last SLATE. Take the stairs back down and swim left a screen
then exit to the north (along the left wall.) Step on the switch and go down
the steps that appear then go left and souh to the 'Slate Room.'

Place the three slates you have into the three remaining slots and a staircase
will appear in the center - take it down to into an underground area. Use
Roc's Feather to hop over the blocks then climb down the ladder on the right
side of the room. Head right a screen then slash away the bush with your
sword and bomb the cracked block. Equip your Seed Shooter and fire an Ember
Seed at the unlit torch to make a platform appear over the gap. Use your Power
Glove to move the giant statue and go through the boss door to face off against
the boss of this dungeon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BOSS: Ramrock

Items: Heart Container, Falling Star

Phase 1 - Ramrock will throw his hands at you while moving back and forth.
Hit his hands back at him and hope one hits him. After three hits
from his hands, Ramrock will change his method of attack. Time for
          the second phase!

Phase 2 - In this phase, Ramrock will move around the room and try to smash
you with his hands. It's not too hard to avoid being smashes
because he stops before crushing you. The goal is to throw a bomb
in between his hands right before he closes them. If you run out
of bombs, get more from the re-growing bushes. After three bomb
crushes, you'll move on to the third phase.

Phase 3 - This phase is a bit more challenging, as you'll have to attack
Ramrock from behind. He'll be moving back and forth guarding his
face with his hands. Equip your Seed Shooter and fire a seed at
the north wall just as he's about to pass and hope it hits his back.
He has two attacks here: shooting a large energy orb at you and
using his laser vision - run to avoid both. After 3-4 hits, you'll
move on to the final phase.

Phase 4 - Not a very difficult last phase, but challenging enough. Ramrock
now has large spheres for hands. He'll (for the most part) stay near
the top of the room and launch one of them at you. When he does so,
run up and grab the other one with your Power Glove and pull it all
the way back. When he throws his other hand at you again, release
it and it'll come slamming back in his face. Repeat this two more
times to defeat him and pick up the HEART CONTAINER then go left a
screen and pick up the final essence of time - the FALLING STAR.

                             Lynna City (Revisit)

Items: Huge Maku Seed,

Now that you've collected all eight essences, it's time to head to the Black
Tower. Once you exit the Ancient Tomb, use a Gale Seed and warp to South
Shore in the past. Play the Tune of Ages near the Ember Seed tree to warp back
to the present then go north four times to visit the Maku Tree. After talking
to you, she'll give you the HUGE MAKU SEED which will be used in defeating
Veran. You'll be interrupted by Twinrova then the Maku Tree will tell you
to go to Black Tower. Go south a screen and play the Tune of Ages to warp
back to the past then head south, left, north, left twice, south three times
and you'll meet with Ralph again.

After telling you he considers you a friend, Ralph will rush off to defeat
Ambi and Veran (it's his only choice, he says.) Go south a bit and you'll be
stopped by Impa and Nayru who tell you that they've discovered that Ralph is
a descendant of Queen Ambi and if she's slain (in the past), Ralph will never
have existed (in the present.) They tell you to save him then rush off. Go
south, right and north (near the right of the screen) and enter the Black
Tower. NOTE: I advise you upgrade your sword (check Side Quests section) and
buy a Magic Potion before this next part (you can get a magic potion from the
witch's shop in Yoll Graveyard) as you may need both.

*******************************************************************************

                                THE BLACK TOWER

Talk to the man when you first enter to learn the tower is filled with beasts
and you can easily get lost trying to find the top. Go right then north and
left three times (all while killing enemies that get in your way on each
screen.) From here, head south and take the stairs. Kill the two armed
Stalfos then go north. Hide behind the statue here to avoid being hit by
the Beamos' laser the go right a screen. Kill the Gibdos (mummies) then go
right again and avoid the Like Likes. Go south and take the stairs. Head
north then left and kill the mages. Go left, south, kill the mages then go
right and you'll take out the Maku Seed. After the essences combine, go north
to enter the Black Tower Turret.

Follow the above maps to get through this area (1 matches with A, 2 with B
and so on) and you'll come out in a room with several staircases are four
flames that surround you. Wait for the flames to start moving then take the
staircase on the bottom row, second from the right to reach the door that leads
to the fight with Veran. Stock up on hearts using the red fairies in the
pots then take the stairs to the north. Head down the steps to go south a
screen then go right, north, left and north (or left, north, right, north)
into the cave for the fight against Veran!

When you enter, Ralph will attempt to attack Veran (who's still in Ambi's body)
but fails because Veran decides to spare his life. When you're left to play
again, go over and talk to Ralph then head north a screen and the battle will
begin.

*******************************************************************************

                               FINAL BOSS: VERAN

Phase 1 - This will be just like the previous battle you had with Veran when
she possessed Nayru's body. Equip your Mystery Seeds on one button
and the Long Switch on the other then follow Ambi/Veran to every
spot they warp to. Once they land, quickly use a Mystery Seed on
Ambi to put her to sleep then use the Long Switch on Veran (shadow)
to pull her out of the way. Quickly equip your sword and slash
away until she returns to Ambi's body. Continue this until the first
phase is over and watch out for the fire orbs / spiders from above.

Phase 2 - Veran's second phase is much more difficult than the previous, as you
really can't defend yourself against her attacks. This time she'll
be in the form of a fairy and will fly around the room, attacking
you with energy orbs and by running into you. To make matters more
complicated, you'll also have four dark links (that act like Mimics)
in your way. I suggest taking out the dark links first (as you can
get one heart for each) then slash Veran when she comes near. Be
prepared to take some damage, but avoid it as best as possible.
After a ton of hits, you'll move on to the third phase.

Phase 3 - Just when you thought it was over, Veran will send a floormaster after
you as Nayru, Ralph and Link are leaving. Since she didn't plan on
revealing these next forms of herself, Veran will make you pay for
her humiliation with your life (so she says.) She has three forms: a
turtle, bee and a spider. Strategies are as follows:

Turtle: This form is really easy to avoid and attack. She will
jump up and down on top of you. Just stand and wait for
her to jump, then use Roc's Feather to jump/move out of
the way as she comes down. Continue dodging the jump
attacks until she pokes her head out -- slash away!

Bee: She will first fly around the room - this is when you
attack. Slash her with your sword whenever she comes near
but watch out when she goes off-screen, as she'll quickly
return and shoot stingers at you. She will also randomly
protect herself with smaller bees, which you can slash for
items. Just keep slashing to deal damge.

Spider: Equip your bombs and toss one at her to make her vulnerable
to your sword. After the bomb, slash away to deal damage.
Beware of the web she spits at you. After you've dealt
enough damage to her (overall) the battle will end and
that's that - for the time being anyway.

Congratulations! You've completed The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages! Watch
the closing credits and cutscenes then write down the Holodrum password to
play a linked game in the Oracle of Seasons. Yep, that's it. Turn your
GameBoy off and go buy Seasons!

===============================================================================

                          VI. Mini-Games/Side Quests

Goron Dancing Game:

This fun dancing game is located in Rolling Ridge and costs 10 rupees per
play. The goal is to emulate the blue Goron's moves as well as his rhythm.
There are two dance moves: posing (A) and moving (B) -- each has its own
tune. The key to winning is to listen to the sounds very closely and
memorize them then perform them after you're signaled to do so. You can miss
only three times then you'll have to start over and pay another 10 rupees.
After completing a total of 6 dance sessions, you'll win the Brother Emblem.
  Continue playing for other prizes.

TIP: Try using headphones to better hear the sounds (thanks to Michael LeDang
  for this tip.)

Goron Shooting Gallery:

You'll find this Shooting Gallery game in Rolling Ridge. It costs 20 rupees
per play and the goal is to hit the balls that are shot at you with your
sword so they hit the blocks and statues on the playing field. A red block
is -10 points, a blue is +30 points. A fairy is +100 points, while the imps
are -50 points. If you miss the ball (a strike) you get -50. If you get
at least 150 points, you'll win Lava Juice and other prizes if you continue
playing. You can even win a Boomerang at 400 points.

Target Carts:

This mini-game is also found in Rolling Ridge and the goal is to shoot all 12
targets with your Seed Shooter while riding around in a mine cart. If you
shoot at least 9, you'll receive 20 rupees for your trouble. However, if you
want to get the main prize at stake, you'll have to shoot all 12. Most of
them are easy to hit, but the last four can be tough, as you have to aim your
Seed Shooter diagonally to hit the one in the corner, then quickly aim at the
last three before the cart passes them. If you get all 12, you'll get the
Rock Brisket first. Future plays will have random target locations and you
can win more prizes (rupees, Gasha Seed, Boomerang.)

Tokay Food Game:

Go to Crescent Island in the past and bomb the cracked wall on the right side
of the island to play a little mini-game where you have to throw meat at
every single Tokay that runs by. The key to winning is to give food to each
Tokay right when they appear, and you'll have to be very fast. After giving
meat to the last (red) Tokay, you'll win a Scent Seedling. You can play
again for some rupees and a Gasha Seed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting the Iron Shield:

Once you have the Mermaid Suit from the sixth dungeon, go to the Ember Seed
tree in South Shore in the past. From there go south a screen and dive into
the water (B) then swim south three screens, right once, south twice and
surface on the far-right side of the screen. Enter the cave and talk to the
Tokay inside to get the Iron Shield!

The Trading Game:

  POE CLOCK
Items Needed: Power Bracelet, Ember Seeds

First, go to Yoll Graveyard in the present and head right, north,
right, south twice and left to find a ghost. Move the rock in front of him
with your Power Bracelet then talk to him. He wants you to move his
headstone so he can go on to the afterlife, so push the headstone out of
the way and enter the grave. Talk to the ghost again then leave and talk
to him outside one more time to get the Poe Clock.

  STATIONERY
Items Needed: Harp of Ages, Poe Clock

Return to Lynna City and warp back to the past then head to the screen just
left of the target game in Lynna Village. Enter the small house here and
talk to the postman who tells you he can't deliver the mail if he doesn't
know the time. Give him the Poe Clock you got and he'll reward you with
  some Stationery just before leaving.

  STINK BAG
  Items Needed: Stationery

From the postman's house, go left twice, and enter the small house. Head
over to the hole in the upper-right corner and a hand will pop out asking
for some paper. Give it the Stationery you got from the postman and it'll
in turn give you the Stink Bag.

  More coming soon...

===============================================================================

                              VII. Item Listing

Bombs:

As with every Zelda game, you'll have bombs. Bombs can be used to blow up
cracked walls, damage enemies, etc. You can either buy them in shops or find
them in chests/grass/shrubs. Most of the time, bombs are necessary to have
in order to get past a dungeon, so make sure you keep a good stock.

Boss Keys:

Every dungeon/level in the game has a boss key hidden within. Boss Keys are
used to unlock the door leading to the main boss of each level and are always
found near the very end of your stay in the dungeon. Most are hidden within
treasure chests -- see the walkthrough for locations of each on the map.

Cane of Somaria:

This item can be found in the level 5 (Crown Dungeon) and has the ability
to create blocks! However, you can only create one block at a time. Use
this in dark rooms to tell where the floor is and where the gaps are, or use
it whenever you need to hold down a switch.

Compass:

The compass is used in junction with the dungeon map in that it shows you
where all of the treasure chests in the game are located as well as the door
leading to the main boss' lair. Sometimes the compass is found before the
map, sometimes it's not, but without the map, the compass really serves no
purpose other than showing you how many chests are left in the level.

Dungeon Map:

Every level has a dungeon map which will show you all of the accessible rooms
in the dungeon before you even go to them. Rooms you haven't gone to are
shaded in, while rooms you've been to are not. Once found, press the Select
button to view it. If you have the compass, you can see the locations of
  treasure chests on the map.

Ember Seeds:

You'll first receive these in level 1 and they can be used to start fires.
Use these to light unlit torches, burn down saplings, or anything that
requires the use of fire. To use them, you'll need a Seed Satchel (but
you'll get one the first time you get these seeds.)

Gale Seeds:

In the form of a tornado, these seeds make transportation much more
convenient. Simply use one and you'll be taken to the overworld map where
you'll then be able to choose any seed tree you've encountered in the game
and automatically warp there. Very useful if you're trying to get to a
  certain area quickly.

Gasha Nuts:

After planging a Gasha Seed in a soil patch, a tree will grow over time. On
these trees grow Gasha Nuts which can be picked by Link. Each Gasha Nut has
a nice item inside, thus you should plant as many Gasha Seeds as possible
  during the game.

Gasha Seeds:

Gasha nuts look like water droplets and can be planted inside soft dirt
patches. When planted, they will grow into large trees. Gasha Seeds are
scattered all over the game as are the soil patches (see Gasha Locations
  section for locations of both.)

Harp of Ages:

After finishing the first level of the game, you can head to Nayru's house
and push the statue out of the way, revealing a hidden entrance with the Harp
inside. Play the Tune of Echos on this harp to activate time warp portals,
thus allowing you to warp forward or backward in time. Once you learn the
Tune of Currents, you can play it on your harp as well to automatically warp
forward in time without using portals.

Hearts:

Use these to replenish lost health. Each heart replenishes one empty heart
on your meter. You can find hearts after killing enemies, chopping
shrubs/grass, and pretty much everywhere else. These hearts are different
from heart pieces and heart containers, as they don't increase your meter,
just the supply on your meter.

Heart Container:

Four heart pieces will result in this. Every heart container you collect
will give you one extra heart on your life meter. You'll automatically
receive a heart container after defeating each dungeon boss, otherwise the
only other way to get them is by collecting heart pieces.

Heart Pieces:

Every four heart pieces make one heart container. Heart pieces are scattered
all throughout the game and are always placed in hard-to-reach areas. When
you collect four, your life meter will increase by one. For all heart piece
locations, please refer to the "Heart Piece Locations" section.

Long Switch:

This is the upgraded vresion of the Switch Hook. Basically, it travels
much further than the original Switch Hook did. You can find it in the
seventh dungeon and use it to reach previously restricted areas scattered
  throughout the game.

Master Sword:

This is the second, more stronger version of the Wooden Sword. You can
acquire it by completing the trading sequence side quest (see mini-games /
side quests section) or by using a GameShark code (see secrets / codes
section.) It's much stronger than the Wooden Sword and will throw out some
magic when slashed if you're energy meter is full. And best of all, you
  can break pots with it!

Mermaid Suit:

Found inside the sixth dungeon (present), the Mermaid Suit will allow Link
to swim in deep water as well as dive down into it, entering underwater
areas. When you have it, your swimming pattern will also change, meaning
you must rapidly tap the d-pad buttons to swim. Link can swim much faster
with the Mermaid Suit and it's necessary to have in order to complete the
  game.

Mystery Seeds:

The primary use of these seeds would be using them on owl statues. Owl
statues are scattered all over throughout the game and the only way you can
get information from them is by using a Mystery Seed. When used, the owl
statues will give you advice about the current area you're in. You can also
try using these seeds on enemies and other objects.

Pegasus Seeds

These seeds are very useful if you need Link to pick up the pace. In the
form of wings, these seeds will make Link move much faster than normal, thus
allowing him to do things such as jumping over large gaps (when used with
  Roc's Feather) or outrunning enemies.

Power Bracelet:

When you have this, you'll be able to move heavy objects such as pots and
rolling pipes. To use it, first equip it to one of your buttons then hold
down that button while pressing left/right on the d-pad near the item you
want to move. The Power Bracelet can be found in Level 2 (Snake Remains.)

Power Glove:

This is the upgraded version of the Power Bracelet and enables you to lift
very heavy objects. You'll find it in the eighth dungeon (Ancient Tomb)
and can use it to lift the giant statues throughout the dungeon that block
you off from chests or unscoured areas.

Red Fairy:

Red Fairies can usually be found underneath pots, hidden inside shrubs,
grass etc. When you collect one, about 5-7 of the hearts on your life meter
will replenish. If you're low on health, Red Fairies are your most valuable
item (especially in the dungeons.) You'll find red fairies a lot just before
  facing off against dungeon bosses.

Red Hearts:

Aside from the other two types of hearts in the game (heart pieces and
heart containers) there are also the more common type: red hearts. When
collected, a red heart will replenish one lost heart on your life meter. Red
hearts are found pretty much everywhere in the game (pots, shrubs, grass,
enemies, etc.) and are probably the most-collected item in the game.

Ring Box (L-1):

A Ring Box is an item that allows you to use the rings you find all over the
game. This one is given to you the first time you enter Vasu Jewelers by
the owner. It's nothing fancy (you can only hold one ring at a time with
it) but it's enough to get by until you get the upgraded version.

Ring Box (L-2):

The L-2 Ring Box is an upgraded version of the first ring box you receive
and allows you to carry up to three rings at a time. You can purchase it
from the secret Lynna City shop for 300 rupees (see the Secrets/Codes section
for information on accessing the secret shop.)

Roc's Feather:

  You'll find Roc's Feather inside a dungeon-like room within level 2 (Wing
Dungeon.) With it equipped, you'll have the ability to jump. You can jump
over gaps, up steps, etc. This is a very useful item throughout the rest
of the game, as there are several gaps.

Rupees:

Rupees are the currency in all Zelda games. They come in all different sizes
and colors, each with a different value. Rupees can be found after defeating
enemies, hidden within shrubs, grass, chests, pots, etc. Use your rupees to
purchase items from shops or have rings appraised.

Seed Shooter:

The Seed Shooter can be found in the third level (Moonlit Grotto) and is very
useful for hitting objects at a distance. It can shoot any type of seed and
can be used as both a weapon against enemies as well as a tool to hit
switches, burn saplings or hit anything that Link can't reach by throwing.

Shovel:

You'll find this item when you first start the game inside the Black Tower
(past) -- one of the construction workers will give it to you. Use this to
shovel away dirt piles, giving access to previously-restricted areas. You
can also dig up the ground with the shovel so as long as there are no grass
or shrubs covering it. This tool is also very handy for unearthing hidden
  soil patches.

Small Key:

You'll find small keys in all caves/dungeons. Sometimes they're in chests,
sometimes they're not. All dungeons have locked doors that require the use
of small keys. You can carry more than one small key at a time, but once you
use it on a door, you cannot use it again. Most small keys can be found by
performing certain tasks such as moving blocks, killing enemies or stepping
  on switches.

Switch Hook:

This handy hook does exactly what its name states: switches. Use it on pots,
diamonds, enemies or anything else you can hook onto and you'l automatically
switch places with that item/enemy! This hook is found in fourth dungeon
and is a crucial tool in completing the game.

Wooden Shield:

Your standard shield that can be bought in item shops or from a Deku Scrub
for about 30-50 rupees. Use this to defend against normal enemies and their
attacks. Keep in mind, however, that this shield may not repel some attacks
from bosses or certain types of enemies, which is why it's so cheap in price.
Equip it to one of your buttons to use it.

Wooden Sword:

This is the first sword you'll get in the game. You can find it inside the
Hero's Cave (which is located on the beach in Horon Village) and equip it to
one of your action buttons (A or B.) This sword will kill basic enemies as
well as chop away shrubs, grass or any other small items. See the
walkthrough on how to get this sword.

                          IX. Heart Piece Locations

#1: After getting the shovel from the miner in the Black Tower, exit the tower
an look to your right. You'll see two dirt piles with the heart piece
behind them. Use your shovel to remove the dirt piles and collect heart
     piece number one.

#2: When you enter Maku Path (past), you'll find a room with this heart piece
behind some blocks. Maneuver the blocks so there's an open path then go
inside to get the heart piece.

#3: Once finished with level 1, go around to the south part of Yoll Graveyard
and use your newly acquired Power Bracelet to move the rock across the
bridge that's blocking the heart piece.

#4: When finished with the second level, go left two screens (hop over the
gap with your feather) then go south a screen and burn away the sapling
to reveal a hidden staircase -- take the stairs and go right to find this
     heart piece.

#5: From where you got the last heart, go north a bit until you reach two
holes -- jump over them and go north a screen then enter the cave. Jump
over the gaps (going in a counter-clockwise direction), move the pot on
the platform near the heart piece then jump over to the heart piece and
     collect it.

#6: After learning the Tune of Currents, go back through the underwater path
into the overworld. Go south a screen then left a screen and stay on the
lower half of dry land then play the Tune of Currents to warp forward in
time. Cross the bridge to the right and pick up the heart piece.

#7: When inside the Goron Cave (north of Nayru's house) in the present, you'll
come across a cracked wall in the room the leads out of the cave. Bomb
this cracked wall to reveal a hidden opening, then go through to find the
     heart piece.

#8: Once you have the Old Mermaid Key, use the time portal to the left of the
Goron Dancing game entrance to warp back to the past. Go left the north
and enter the cave. Go right a screen and use your Switch Hook on the
diamonds to get across the gap then take the stairs on the other side.
Exit the cave, go right a screen, chop up all the bushes then play the
Tune of Currents (while on the right side of the ledge) and you'll get
the heart piece in the present time.

#9: After getting a Gasha Seed (see following section for locations), when
you plant it in a soil patch and it grows into a Tree, you'll find the
heart piece inside the Gasha Nut the grows on the tree. The location of
the tree that contains this heart piece is random in each game, so I
cannot give you an exact location where you should plant the Seed.

#10: Once you access the secret shop in Lynna City (see the Secrets/Codes
section for information on accessing this shop) you can buy this heart
piece from the owner for 500 rupees.

===============================================================================

                              X. Gasha Locations

Gasha Seed #1: Lynna Village

After entering Lynna Village for the first time (in the past) you'll find an
isolated house with some dirt piles just outside. The owner of this house
hates Gasha Seeds, so if you talk to him, you'll get your first Gasha Seed
that can be planted in the soft dirt patch just south one screen.

Gasha Seed #2: Spirit's Grave

When in the first level (Spirit's Grave) you'll come across a room with
several blocks and a large, square moving platform to the left. Ride this
platform up and go around the blocks to find a switch -- step on it to make a
chest appear then open the chest to find the Gasha Seed.

Gasha Seed #3: Lynna Village

When in the past, go to Lynna Village and make your way southwest. You will
come to a screen with holes in the ground and two rocks blocking a set of
stairs -- move the rocks and take the set of stairs, then move the blocks on
the right side of the room, go around to the left side and push the first
block down, then go back to the right side and push the second block down and
finally push the center block to the left and open the chest for the seed.

Gasha Seed #4: Wing Dungeon

While going through level 2 (Wing Dungeon) you'll come across a room with two
enemies and a chest barricaded inside of a square of gaps. After getting
Roc's Feather, jump over the gap, kill them both and open the chest to get
the Gasha Seed. Save it and plant it in a soil patch when you come to one
  again.

Gasha Seed #5: Crescent Island

After getting your bombs back, go north along the path that leads to the
trading hut, and bomb the cave open (to the left on the screen just before
you reach the trading hut) then go inside. If you win the meat throwing
game once, you get a Scent Seedling. Continue playing until the prize is
the Gasha Seed. Win the game and the Gasha Seed is yours.

Gasha Seed #6: Moonlit Grotto

Once you get the Seed Shooter in level 3 and break the fourth (and final)
crystal, go south a screen to find a chest sitting in the middle of the room.
Open it up to find the first of two Gasha Seeds in the Moonlit Grotto. Save
  it for planting later.

Gasha Seed #7: Moonlit Grotto

See the level 3 walkthrough to get to the room south of the revolving door.
Once you have the Seed Shooter, push two blocks into the gap in the lower-
right of this room then shoot ember seeds at the two unlit torches to make
a chest appear with the Gasha Seed inside.

Gasha Seed #8: Rolling Ridge Summit

After playing the Goron Dance game and getting the Brother Emblem, show it
to the Goron blocking the summit entrance south a screen. Once in this
area, follow the steps until you reach the Bomb game -- take the stairs to
the right and jump off the cliff to the right. Open the chest to find this
  Gasha Seed.

Gasha Seed #9: Rolling Ridge

When you reach the Target Carts game, you will have the chance to win this
Gasha Seed. First, you must win the Rock Brisket then prizes will appear
at random and the Gasha Seed will be one of them. To win it, shoot all 12
targets before reaching the end and it'll be yours.

Gasha Seed #10: Rolling Ridge

After getting the Old Mermaid Key, use the time portal to the left of the
entrance of the Goron Dancing game to warp back in time. Go left then north
and enter the cave to find some cracked blocks. If you bomb them all and
open the chest that was behind them, you'll get the Gasha Seed.

Gasha Seed #11: Mermaid's Cave

When you first enter the sixth level (Mermaid's Cave) look to your right to
find a cracked wall. Use a bomb to destroy it then go through into the next
room and hide behind the blocks. When the mages appear, kill them with your
sword and a chest will appear with the seed inside once all are killed.

Gasha Seed #12: Yoll Graveyard

After entering Yoll Graveyard, if you go to the upper-right corner (after
opening the gate early on in the game) you'll find a shop. You'll need the
flippers to swim across the water leading to it, but once inside, you can
buy a Gasha Seed for 300 rupees. If you leave the shop and re-enter, you
can buy another for another 300 rupees. The supply is unlimited, so you
can buy as many as you like if you have the rupees.

Gasha Seed #13: Jabu-Jabu's Belly

This seed can be found on the third floor of the seventh Dungeon (Jabu-Jabu's
Belly) inside of a chest behind a locked door. For a walkthrough on how to
  get it, check section five.

Gasha Seed #14: Jabu-Jabu's Belly

Once you've collected the Long Switch and stepped on the second blue switch
in the water control room, go up to the third floor with one key and unlock
the first locked door you come to. In the next room, you'll find a chest
  with the Gasha Seed inside.

Gasha Seed #15: Ancient Tomb

After getting the Power Glove (upgraded version of the Power Bracelet) in
the eigth dungeon (Ancient Tomb) you'll eventually come to a room in the
first basement with a giant statue and a chest behind it. Move the statue
with your Power Glove and open the chest to get the Gasha Seed.

Gasha Seed #16: Ancient Tomb

When you come to the mine cart for the first time, ride it right into the
next room then deflect the projecting tiles with your sword until they're all
gone. To the north of the screen (behind where the tiles were) you'll find
a chest with the Gasha Seed inside.

Gasha Seed #17: Maku Tree

After beating the game (or level four) go north of Lynna Village and climb
up the ladder on the Maku Tree. Head north once inside to reach the top of
the Maku tree. The seed will be located either on the center screen, left
screen or right screen, in between the leaves/grass.

Gasha Seed #18: Maku Tree

After beating the game (or level six) go north of Lynna Village and climb
up the ladder on the Maku Tree. Head north once inside to reach the top of
the Maku tree. The seed will be located either on the center screen, left
screen or right screen, in between the leaves/grass.

Gasha Seed #19: Maku Tree

After beating the game (or level eight) go north of Lynna Village and climb
up the ladder on the Maku Tree. Head north once inside to reach the top of
the Maku tree. The seed will be located either on the center screen, left
screen or right screen, in between the leaves/grass.

Gasha Seed #20: Lynna City

Once you access the secret shop in Lynna City (see the Secrets/Codes section
for information on accessing this shop) you can buy this Gasha Seed from the
  owner for 300 rupees.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soil Patch #1: Crescent Island

Once you've retrieved all of your items, move both plants underneath the
cliffs, then travel forward in time and climb the first vine you come to.
Follow the path around, move the lower-left rock with your power bracelet
and you'll find this soil patch.

Soil Patch #2: Rolling Ridge

From the building that leads to the base of Rolling Ridge, go left a screen
(across the bridge) and use the warp portal to return to the past. If you
go right a screen and dig where one of the shrubs was, you'll unearth this
soil patch in front of the stone Goron face.

===============================================================================

                               XI. Enemy Listing

Armos Statues:

Some of the Armos Statues in the game are capable of coming to life if
something is done. When one comes to life, it will come after you, causing
lots of damage. As with all enemies, use your sword or whatever other
items you have to destroy it.

Armos Warriors:

Another type of Armos enemy is the warrior, which come in two types: archers
and swordsmen. Archers are easier to kill, as they have nothing to protect
them. Swordsmen, however, are more difficult to kill, as their sword acts
as a shield to protect them from Link's attacks. Both are dangerous, and
can be found all over the game.

Beamos (Lasers):

These enemies were also present in the N64 Zelda games, and can be very
dangerous. They are little metallic eyeballs that rotate on a rod and when
you enter their view, they'll fire a laser at you. The good thing is that
they can only fire one laser per rotation, but you cannot destroy these with
bombs as you could in the N64 Zelda games.

Biri:

Only found in the underwater areas, Biri are electric jellyfish-like enemies
that can be difficult to defeat. Some of them will electrocute you if you
attack while others may split into two mini-biri after using the Switch Hook
(or Long Switch) on them. My best advice is to just ignore and avoid them.

Centipedes:

You'll find these hiding in holes on the floor in the seventh dungeon. When
Link walks past the hole, the centipede enemy will pop out and use it's
antlers to chomp at Link. You can tell which holes have these enemies or
not because the ones that do have them will have a pair of eyes inside before
you get too close. Slash them with your sword after approaching.

Chained Knight:

These large, ball & chain bearing knights may seem impossible to kill at
first, but all you really need to do is give them a spinning slash from
your sword (or a normal slash from a powered up sword) to destroy them.
Beware of the ball and chain they carry, as they'll toss it at you, causing
  massive damage.

Cheep-Cheep (Fish):

Any player of the Super Mario games is familiar with these small little fish
You'll only find them while swimming underwater and they have no basic
attacks. The only way they can harm you is if you run into them or touch
them in any way. When swimming, just weave in and out beteween them and
  you should be fine.

Crabs:

Normally found on beaches, the crabs can be killed with a few sword slashes.
They have no attacks other than running into you, so keep your distance when
attacking if you don't want to lose any health.

Crows:

These large, black birds perch themselves onto trees in the overworld and
wait for Link to come near so they can attack. Unlike other enemies, these
will not attack you when you first enter the screen but rather when you
approach them. They aren't very common and can easily be killed with a few
  slashes from Link's sword.

Dark Link (Mimics):

You'll only encounter Dark Links one time in the game and that's during the
final boss fight. There will be a total of four and each contains one red
heart when you kill them. They act just like Mimics (in that they copy your
moves) but take more hits to kill and look exactly like Link (only darker
  in color.)

Deku Scrubs (Plants):

Yet another returning enemy from previous Zelda games. Some Deku Scrubs
are helpful and will sell you items, but most hide under rocks or shrubs
and charge at you rapidly when you walk by. To kill them, first slash away
the shrub they're under (or lift the rock with your Power Bracelet) to
take away their protection, then one slash in from the sword should finish
  them off.

Electric Blobs:

These enemies cannot be defeated with the sword, so don't try! When you
see one (they look like tall blobs with feet) just avoid it, because when you
slash one with your sword, it will electrocute you. If you're riding in
Ricky's pouch, a hurricane punch can take care of them. Otherwise, just
avoid them, as it's not worth the time nor resources to destroy them.

Fire Keese (Bats):

These are identical to normal Keese, only they are engulfed in flames.
You must be extra cautious of Fire Keese, because they can transfer the fire
onto Link, causing damage. If this is the case, once the fire is gone,
they become normal Keese. Two slashes from the sword will kill them.

Floormasters (Hands):

You'll encounter Floormasters (large, blue hands) a few times throughout the
game, and while they cannot do any damage to Link, they do cause a lot of
frustration. If caught by one, you'll automatically be taken back to the
entrance of the dungeon. Floormasters can only be found in dungeons and can
be killed with a few slashes from Link's sword.

Gels (Mini-Blobs):

There are two different types of Gels: red and green. The red version will
split into two smaller blobs which will then jump onto link, slowing him
down. The green version will die when slashed once. The green version often
pops up at random throughout the overworld and inside dungeons, while the red
version is usually always there (rarely comes up from the ground as the green
  do.)

Ghinis (Ghosts):

These ghosts aren't seen very often throughout the game, but you will
encounter them eventually. They float around and if you get touched by one,
you'll lose energy. To kill them, just slash them a few times with your
  sword and they'll be gone.

Gibdos (Mummies):

These enemies are always found inside dungeons or caves and look identical
to mummies. For players of the N64 Zelda games, these are the same enemies
that cause a shriek when you approach them. To kill them, slash them with
your sword multiple times until they die.

Iron Masks:

As with some of the other enemies, I don't know the official name of this
one, but I do know that it uses an iron mask to protect it from your attacks.
To defeat them, either hit one from behind when the mask is facing away from
you or use the Switch Hook to remove it's mask, then slash it with your
sword or any other weapon you have.

Keese (Bats):

Another returning enemy from prior Zelda games, Keese are found in every
single dungeon you play in. They are nothing more than small bats that
fly around the room, but they also have two different flight patterns: some
fly closer to the ground, making it easy for you to kill them, others will
fly up high (you can see their shadows if they're flying high) making you
jump to get them. One slash from the sword will kill them.

Leevers:

These enemies live underground and emerge randomly in the overworld. You'll
also find them in dungeons from time to time but not very often. Leevers
can be hard to avoid because they move so rapidly, but if you can get a few
slashes in before it returns to the underground, you'll be able to kill it.

Like Like (Blobs):

While these creatures may move rather slowly, they are very costly if you
happen to be caught by one. If one catches you and you don't get out in
time, it will most likely steal your shield and you won't be getting it
back. Slash them 2-3 times with the normal sword to kill them from a
  distance.

Mimics (Shy Guys):

Similar to the Cheep-Cheeps in the sense that neither has weapons to attack
with, Mimics are shy guys that imitate your every move. If you move right,
they move left. If you move down, they move up, etc. The only way they
can harm you is if you run into one. Encountering these enemies can be
kind of confusing, so be careful.

Octoroks (Octopi):

When on the ground, these enemies look like giant spiders, however, they
are called Octoroks. When you come near, they will spit little balls at
you, so watch out. Octoroks come in different colors as well, some stronger
than others. Use your sword or any other item capable of dealing damage
  to defeat them.

Pea Hat:

These are the enemies that start off on the ground then fly around the room
trying to hit you (their propellors look like flower petals in this game).
Your only chance to attack one of these is when it's on the ground because
they are immune to attacks when in flight. These are almost always found in
dungeons and can be killed with a few slashes from the sword (when not in
  flight.)

Rabbits:

Another rare enemy in this game, Rabbits can only be defeated with bombs and
are often penned up out of your reach. Toss a bomb at one of them at the
right moment so it'll explode before they jump away.

Ropes (Snakes):

Also appearing in previous Zelda titles, the Ropes are snake-like enemies
that roam around the game. They crawl around slowly but when they see you,
they'll begin charging at you. One slash from your sword should finish
them off. Note that Ropes travel in packs and you'll very rarely find one
  roaming around solo.

Sensory Spikes:

Sensory Spikes are not alive like most enemies, but are still capable of
hurting Link. These spikes are found in most dungeons and are triggered
when Link walks past them. The smaller version of these spikes come in
pairs of two and clang together, sandwiching Link in between them if caught.
The large version isn't sensory but instead moves around an immobile
object, destroying anything in its path. These spikes cannot be destroyed,
  only avoided.

Spiders:

For some reason, these don't show up much in the game, but maybe because they
are so easy to kill. Anyway, these will sometimes pop out of the ground if
you're digging up dirt, but not very often. A few slashes from Link's sword
  should take care of them.

Stalfos:

These enemies wear green robes, concealing their faces. Some are armed with
a sword, others just shoot arrows at you. The ones that have swords are more
difficult to kill, as their sword acts as a shield. The ones who shoot
arrows can easily be killed, but make sure an arrow doesn't hit you.

Wickies (Candles):

These enemies make their first appearance in the sixth dungeon, and (as
with all enemies) if you get touched by them, you'll lose energy. To kill
them, equip your Seed Shooter or Seed Satched and shoot/toss an Ember Seed
onto their wick. This will cause them to run around the room and eventually
melt/explode. You'll often find them in groups of two or three.

Wizrobes (Mages):

I refer to these enemies as mages in the walkthough, because they look like
mages to me. They have tall, pointed hats and have white bodies. When
they appear, you'll first see the tip of their hat then they'll move around
the room transparently. You can only attack them once they're in solid
form. However, beware of their throwing attack when in solid form, as it
can easily kill if you're standing directly in front of them. A few slashes
from the sword should take care of them.

Worms:

Actually, these are more like a bunch of spheres chained together but since
I don't know the official name, I'll just call them worms (so not to get
them confused with Ropes.) Anyway, you can kill these things with about
3-4 slashes from the normal sword. They're almost always found in dungeons
and very rarely (if ever) in the overworld.

Zoras:

These enemies only live in water and pop up from screen to screen to shoot
energy balls at you. Don't bother trying to kill them, as they're out in
the sea and you won't be able to reach them. Just avoid them as best as
possible and beware when entering new screens in the overworld.

                       XII. Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are those numbers that show up on my save file before I load my game?

A. These three digits show you how many times you've died in the game. Deaths
only count if you save your game after dying. If you shut the game off
after dying without saving, the death(s) won't count. The lower the
    number you have, the better.

Q. Which game should I get: Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons?

A. If you're into puzzles, Ages would be a good choice; if you're more into
action, Seasons would be better. Ages is more OoT/MM oriented while
Seasons is more old-school. I suggest you purchase both, but if that's
not an option, choose whichever one sounds more appealing to you based
    on the above.

Q. I need to warp back/forward in time but the portals aren't working! Help!

A. You first must play the Harp of Ages on the same screen the portal is in
to activate it. The Harp of Ages is sort of like the Ocarina in Zelda:
Ocarina of Time. However, once you learn new songs, you'll be able to
warp forward and backward in time without having to use the time portals.

Q. What's the difference between 'Lynna City' and 'Lynna Village'?

A. Lynna City is the name of Lynna when you're playing in the present time.
If you go back in time using the time portal, the name changes to Lynna
Village. In other words, it starts out as a village in the past and turns
    into a city over time.

Q. What exactly does the 'Tune of Currents' do?

A. When played, the Tune of Currents will automatically warp you back into
the future if you're current in the past. You don't need to use any time
warp portals, just play the tune and you'll warp forward in time. This
song only allows you to warp forward in time, not backwards. If you're
in the future and you play the song again, it will have no effect.

Q. Okay, how about the 'Tune of Ages'?

A. The third and final song you can learn on your Harp of Ages is called the
Tune of Ages and allows you to warp forward and backward in time whenever
you want, without having to use warp prortals. So technically it's an
enhanced version of the Tune of Currents only it works both ways.

Q. When is this game going to be released in ?

A. Both Oracle games are scheduled for release in Europe on June 29, 2001.
I do not know when the games are being released in Canada, etc. so please
    don't ask.

Q. I'm stuck in the Goron Dancing game! Can you help?

A. The Goron Dancing game can be very frustrating, especially for first time
players. The only strategy I have for you is to just memorize each and
every rhythm and continue trying until you get it. The sounds are the
key thing in this game -- not the visuals. After about five or so tries,
you'll get the hang of it; just keep trying. Tip: try using headphones
to better hear the sounds (thanks to Michael LeDang for this tip.)

Q. The old man in the Eyeglass Isle Library won't give me the book of seals.
    Why not?

A. You must first visit the Queen Fairy (Octorok) to the left of the library
in the present. If you don't talk to her to activate the event, the old
man will not give you the Book of Seals.

                            XIII. Secrets / Codes

Secret Lynna Shop:

To access to the hidden shop in Lynna City, first go to Lynna Village in the
past (north one screen of the Ember Seed tree) and stand above the tree on
left then play the Harp of Ages to warp back to the present. If done
correctly, you should appear on the time portal behind the fence to the left
of the Lynna City shop. Go inside and enter the cave then take the stairs
down to where you can buy some new, fancy items.

Postman House Glitch

If you go to the Postman's house in the past (one screen left of the target
game) and lift away the shelves in the back of his house with your Power
Bracelet, you'll find staircases that lead you back into the same room.
However, if you stand on the stairs after lifting the shelf (without moving
off) and lift the other half of the shelf, you'll find a pushed in button -
step on it and you'll be taken to the lower-right corner of the raft house
where you'll be stuck. Nothing special, but an interesting glitch - restart
  to escape.
