FAQ ****************************************** None yet. ****************************************** III. Walkthrough ****************************************** ---Note--- Depending on which game you play first Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons, parts of the game will change. By how much and to what extent I am unsure of, for now. For now this walkthrough will explain the game as if you started it first. ---End Note--- +-----------+ Prologue +-----------+ A NEW CHAPTER Link awoke one day to find himself deep in a strange forest. As he started to walk through the woods, he heard cries for help coming from just up ahead of him. Link hurried toward the voice, only to find a group of monsters surrounding the woman who was screaming. When the monsters saw Link, they immediately fled. The woman who was being attacked was none other than Impa, nurse to Hyrule's Princess Zelda. Impa said she had come to the forest to search for a singer named Nayru. "Can't you help me look?" Impa asked. Despite the strange look she gave him, Link could not refuse her request. Together they found a large stone with a rune on it. Naturally, Link moved the stone, but Impa wouldn't so much as lay a hand on it. As they traveled even deeper into the forest, they found a young woman singing. Invited to sit by the group of animals that listened to the girl's song, Link joined in the circle and let the beautiful song fill his ears and penetrate his heart. This was surely Nayru, the singer Impa was searching for. Just then, Impa erupted in a cackling laugh. "Ah ha ha ha ha ha!" A darkness surrounded Impa, and a frightening shadow lifted from her body. "Nayru! Oracle of Ages! I, Veran, Sorceress of Shadows, shall make you my own!" The shadow that called itself Veran began swooping about the forest before flying straight into the body of the frightened singer. A blinding light shone forth from Nayru's body. When Link's eyes had grown used to the light, he realized that Nayru looked very strange. Her face seemed veiled in shadow, and her bright smile had vanished. A piercing, evil gaze had replaced it. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" "Now the power of the Oracle of Ages is mine! I can travel through time at will! Now a new age shall begin-an age of shadows!" And with that, Veran and Nayru vanished. Nayru was actually the Oracle of Ages who controlled time in this land of Labrynna. When the oracle was kidnapped, the flow of time in Labrynna was distorted, and strange things began to happen. Before vanishing, Veran said, "When the past changes, so does the present." Her plan was to travel to the past and gather power from the sorrows of the people of Labrynna so that she could create her age of shadows. Will Link be able to free Nayru from Veran's evil clutches? Such is the quest that Link must now undertake. +-------------+ Beginnings +-------------+ As the intro shows you, Link has arrived to the altar of the Triforce, and the Triforce sends Link to Labrynna. Once you are in control of Link head forward and you will confront Impa, Princess Zelda's nanny. She is being attacked by those little octopus, but as soon as you arrive the creatures flee in terror, or not... Impa will now tell you of how she was to meet Naryu, and asks for you to help. You will soon come upon a rock with the symbol of the Triforce upon it. Impa will ask you to move the rock, and reluctantly avoids the rock. When you've moved the rock out of the way continue forward. You will soon begin to hear a melody, continue forward and you will find Naryu. Once you are there talk to each member of the crowd once and then to the bear to make him move out of the way. After the little cut scene the Sorceress of Shadows, Veran, will appear and abducts Naryu, and uses her power as the Oracle of Ages to travel back in time. Soon a series of strange events will begin to occur, and it will be up to you to stop it. After speaking to Impa, she will give you the Wooden Sword and instructs you to visit the Maku Tree in Lynna City. There isn't much to do in Lynna, you should visit Vasu the Jewler. He will give you a L-1 Ring Box and the Friendship Ring. The other thing of note is Bipin and Blossom's child. You can name the child, but what the effect is of yet unknown to me. After you've finished your business in the City head to the Maku Tree. When you reach her you will be informed of what Verna may be planning, but the tree soon disappears. Head to the right and join Ralph by jumping into the time portal. +----------+ The Past +----------+ As you come out of the warp you will find yourself in the past. Again there isn't much to do, but be sure to search the town. You will receive a Gasha Seed from one of the townspeople. If you head down one screen, you will find a spot to plant the Gasha Seed. Plant it and come back at a later date. Once you've done that head South from the town and towards the tower. Head inside and speak to one of the "foreman" of the place. He will give you a Shovel. When you've received the Shovel head back outside and use the Shovel to dig the dirt out of the way a retrieve the Heart Piece. After you retrieve the Heart Piece head back to Maku Path and use the Shovel to dig the dirt out of the way. The Path itself is not very difficult and should pose little problems. Once you've found the way out you will find the Maku Sapling being attacked by Moblins. Defeat them and the Maku Sapling will reward you at a later date. A path will then be cleared, so you no longer have to use the Path to visit the tree. Head back down and you will find a warp back to the Present. Return back to the Present and speak to the Maku Tree once more. The Tree will remember you, probably not how you want, but she will reward you with a Seed Satchel and some Ember Seeds to go along with them. You will now have to retrieve the eight Essences of Time, your first stop will be at Yoll Graveyard. +--------------------------+ Level 1 Spirit's Grave +--------------------------+ You passed Yoll Graveyard when you first started the game, so head back in that direction. Use the Ember Seeds to burn those tiny trees. You will also find the entrance to the dungeon blocked and will need the Graveyard Key to pass. Search the southern part of Yoll Graveyard and burn those tiny tress once again, one will reveal a hidden staircase. Head down the staircase and use the Ember Seeds to light up the torches. When you light both you will receive the Key. Head back to the gate and into the first Dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- When you enter the dungeon head to the right. Push the block out of the way and head up. Push the colored block into the hole and head up the stairs to grab the Dungeon Map. Circle back around and head to the northern door. Grab the compass, and use an Ember Seed on the weird decoration on the wall, you will find a ring there. Circle back once more and head into the door that opens with the colored cube. From there head North and kill the ghost there to grab a key. In the next room push the center block out of the way and head up. Push the block near the bottom out of the way and grab the key in the chest. Work your way left and push the block at the bottom to the left, and the one that was above it, move that one up. If you head all the way to the right you will find one more room where you can earn another key. To obtain it push the center block up one, and the two that were next to it to the left and right one. Now push each block up once to have access to the switches and the key. Head back and into the room you have yet to explore. Board the moving green elevator and head towards the block blocking the path. Push it out of the way and press the switch. You will earn one more ring this way. Drop down on the green platform once more and into the next room. From there head down to battle the mini-boss. The ghost mini-boss will call out three little ghost and send them after you. If one of them grabs you, you will slow down and are unable to attack. Destroy them to avoid this. Once you've beaten the mini-boss a warp back to the entrance will appear. Continue on, by heading to the left. Defeat the moblins in this room and head south. Push the block on the left down and the block on the right down, then push the center block to the side. Head to the right, and you will find two torches. Light them with your Ember Seeds and a hidden staircase will appear. Head down to receive the Power Bracelet. Head back up and use it on the bottles blocking your path. Grab the ring in the chest while you're at it. Head down one room and then head right. Use the Power Bracelet on the bottles blocking the chest to get the Boss Key. Once you've gotten the key head to the right once more and you will find yourself back at the entrance. Use the warp to warp back to the mini-boss room and head up from there. Beware of the room before the boss, hands will fall from the ceiling and if they grab you, they will send you back to the entrance. -----Ghost Pumpkin Boss----- Well since I have no idea what the boss's name is I'll just call it that. Anyways this boss is a snap, equip your Wooden Sword and the Power Bracelet. Smack the boss until the Pumpkin Head falls down, now pick up the head and throw it at the little ghost and slice at it a few times with your sword. Repeat until it's defeated. ---------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level 2 Wing Dungeon +--------------------------+ After defeating the boss and grabbing the Eternal Spirit you will now have to find the second essence. When you exit the dungeon you will receive a message from the Maku tree telling you to head to the Western Woods. As you head up you will hear some strange music and see a shadow moving around. Its Maple the Witch, and she will then crash into you. You can then race her for the items strewn around the screen, some of which are hers and some of which are yours. **Note**- Your run ins with Maple may be different from mine. This will probably be the only time I actually mention it. Now, before you head to the Woods be sure to explore more of the Graveyard. You will find a ghost sitting next to a tombstone, its near the entrance of Spirit's Grave. If you help him you will receive the Poe Clock. Also, be sure to grab the Heart Piece you passed by earlier, the one near the spot you found the Graveyard Key. You will also find a spot to plant a Gasha Seed. Once you've retrieved those two items head back to Lynna City, and head to the Western part of the City. Use the Power Bracelet to move the rocks and continue forward. When you enter the woods you will find that you are unable to make any actual progress. The Fairies in the woods have mixed up the Forest and will put in back in order if you play hide-n-seek with them. The Fairies will show you briefly where they hid. The Forest will put you in random locations so you'll just have to keep searching until you find them. When you find them you will finally be able to move freely around. If you head towards the Dungeon it will then collapse. Your only choice is to travel back into the past, but you will need to find a way. Head back to Naryu's home. At Naryu's home, you will find Impa and she tells you of a draft in the house. Push the statue to the side and walk into the hidden passage. There you will find the Harp of Ages. Naryu will appear and teach you the Tune of Echoes. With this you will be able to travel back in time, but only in certain spots. If you head outside you will see a weird design on the ground. Use the Harp there and you will travel back in time. Work your way back to the Forest in the past. You will find the cave, but it will be sealed. Talking to one of the soldiers reveals that the Queen has some bombs. However the only way to see her is to give her something of value. Want she wants are some Mystery Seeds. Work your way around Deku Forest, and be sure to obtain the heart piece hidden beneath those little trees you can burn. You will also begin to meet Deku scrubs who offer to sell you a shield. If you hold out, one of the scrubs will eventually sell you one for 10 rupees. Buy one now if you already haven't. Once you've obtained the seeds make your way back. One of the soldiers will see that you have the seeds and take you to see the Queen. The Queen will then reward you with some bombs. Use these on the entrance of the dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- As you enter you will see an owl statue. Use Mystery Seeds on it to learn about the spike enemies in this dungeon. Head up one screen to meet these enemies. Use your Shield to block their attacks or just ram into them to flip them over and defeat them. Now head left into the next room. You will have to push the colored block so that the red color is facing up. To do this, push the block down twice, three times to the right, up once, to the left once, up once, and then push the block all the way into the hole. In the next room you should see a sort of crumbling wall. Bomb it to get the Dungeon Map. Now head down the stairs, up one screen, and to the left one screen, and head left one more screen. Defeat the enemies in that room to grab the key and head back to the room with the spiked enemies. Use the key on the door and head right. Search the southern wall and you should see another wall that looks like it will crumble, bomb it and head down the stairs. Navigate through the traps and into the next room to earn yourself one more key. Now head back. Push the block out of the way and retrieve the compass. Head up one screen and use the key on the locked door and head left. You will now see a mine cart, board it. As the mine cart takes you along its path keep swinging your sword to keep the enemies from attacking. Once the cart stops head up and into the mini-boss. The mini-boss, which looks strangely looks like a Pokemon, will fly above the area and come crashing down on you. Be wary of the holes he makes, if you fall you will have to start over. Once defeated a warp will open once again. Now head to the door in the top left and take the stairs down. Head down one room and one screen to the right. Head down the stairs to retrieve the Roc's Feather. Use the feather and jump over the tile on the floor till it matches the color of the block. Now head right. Board the mine cart, and hit the switch you see along the way. Now bomb the wall on the right to retrieve one more key. You will now see one more colored block. Push it to the right once, up three times, to the left once and down once. Board the mine cart once more into the next room. You will now see 4 colored tiles on the floor and 4 blocks to the left of it. Jump over BOTH tiles on the LEFT side until it matches the color of the blocks, and do the same on the RIGHT side jumping over BOTH blocks until it matches. Grab the key that falls and move on to the left. Head back up the stairs and use the key on the block. You will see a mine cart, but do not board it yet. Jump down to the other stairs, but do not head down it. Head down one screen instead. Work your way around the pitfalls and jump over the tile to remove the bar blocking your path. Now board the mine cart until it takes you to its end. Grab the Gasha seed in the chest and head up. Here you will have to push one of the jars onto the switch. Do that and head into the next room. Head down one screen and you will see yet another puzzle. This puzzle requires you push the colored statues and match them to the one on the left. Note that the colored block will determine what block you can push. Once you've gotten the key head back up and to the right. There you will find a room with all of the same colors. You may also see some eyes belonging to those slimes. In order to defeat them jump over the center block to change the color and quickly attack the slimes. Do this until you receive the Boss Key. Head up one room and from there into the boss room. -----Colored Thwomp Boss----- To defeat this boss you must throw bombs into the top of Thwomp's head, more specifically the red head. You can do this one of two ways. Ride the platforms circling its head and drop a bomb from there or, climb the ladders on either side and throw the bombs from there. Using the platform method it is much easier to throw the bombs, and actually hit the red head, but you put yourself in more danger. Using the throwing method, it is easier to avoid the bosses attacks, but tends to take a little longer. Also note that if you miss and hit one of the other heads it will attack you instead of being damaged. The green head will throw out flames from the top of its head, and occasionally bombs for you to use. This can be avoided by staying in the ladder. The purple head will smash down and rocks will fall down into the center. Again easily avoided by staying in the ladder. The blue head on the other hand will shoot out a circle of flames. At first it will only shoot them out in the center, but as it takes damage it will shoot them out twice and will hit you even in the ladder area. ---------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level 3 Moonlit Grotto +--------------------------+ Retrieve the Ancient Wood Essence and the next location will be revealed. The next Essence can be found somewhere in Crescent Islands. For now explore Talus Peaks, which is past the pits left of the town. If you explore you will find a Heart Piece, a location to plant a Gasha Seed. Now head back to town, and to the edge of town. You will find Cheval's House. Here he talks about inventing flippers and rope that doesn't break in water. When you exit the house you will bump into Ralph. He mentions Cheval's grave back in the present. Head back there. Take the warp in town and use the Harp to warp back to the present. Make your way back to Yoll Graveyard. There you will find Moosh. He is being scared by some ghosts, how I don't know, considering how big he is, you'd think the ghosts would be afraid of him... Anyways defeat the ghost and Moosh will offer to help. From where you saved Moosh head left one screen and then up one screen. Use Moosh's flight ability to navigate the pits. When you reach the final tombstone jump off Moosh and push the grave aside to reveal a hidden passage. Explore and you will eventually come across Zora's Flippers. With those equipped take a dip in the water and head North pass the coral. You will find Cheval Rope there. Head back out, and Moosh will part ways with you. Head back into the past and head south of the Black Tower. You will find Rafton's House. Speak to him and he will ask for the Cheval Rope, give it to him and he promises you can use his raft if you find a chart. When you head up one screen you will run into Ralph once again. He speaks of a "weird guy" that may have the chart. Head back into the present. You will find the "weird guy" in the Forest of Time, near the area where you first began. The weird guy is none other than Tingle, from the Majora's Mask. However there are quite a few obstacles blocking your path, and no way to clear them. Now head to the entrance of Yoll Graveyard, you will find Ricky the Kangaroo there. He has lost his gloves and asks you to find them. The gloves are found on the beach, directly below Lynna City. Use the Shovel near the tree and you will soon uncover Ricky's Gloves. Take them back to him and he will help you reach Tingle. Follow his instructions to reach Tingle. Once your reach the top jump up and pop the balloon. Say you'll be Tingle's friend and he will give you the chart. Head back to the past, and to Rafton's House. With the chart in hand he will let you use the raft. Sail down two screens, right one, and up two. You will then run into a storm that will wash you on the shores of Crescent Island. After you wake you'll find creatures called Tokay that took your stuff. Head down one screen and push the strange seed like thing next to the wall that's pushed in and continue to the right. Head down one screen and get your Shovel from that Tokay. Next head into the cave and get your Sword. Keep heading in the only direction you can go in until you reach a Toaky Hut. You'll find two more of your items there, however he won't just give them back. You will have to trade your shovel in order to get one of your items back. Trade for the Power Bracelet first. Head all the way down then up the stairs. Use the Power Bracelet on the rock blocking your path and head down the stairs. Grab the bombs, then the Gasha Seed in the chest. Now head back in the direction of the trader, but head up the stairs with the caved in wall. Bomb it and play the game inside. To win this game, pick up the meat and throw it to the Tokay as soon as they appear. The longer you wait the harder it will be. When you win you will receive a Scent Seedling. Head down two screens, left one, up two, left one, up one, and then keep heading right. Use the Bracelet to move the rocks and talk to that Toaky. He will plant the seedling for you. Now go back and trade for the Feather. If you head back to the place where you found your Sword you can use Feather to help you get another Gasha Seed. From that cave head back up the stairs and right. Now head down, right, and down two more screens. Jump over the pit and head left one screen then up. Bomb the caved in wall and you will find your Flippers here. Now go back to the trader and trade again for the Bracelet. Go back to the cave, and in the top- left corner of the cave you will see some water deeper than the others. Dive in, and you will soon find your Seed Satchel. Now head back to the trader once more and trade him 10 Mystery Seeds for your Feather. Now head back pass the pit and into that cave. Navigate your way through and you will find your Harp of Ages. With the Harp in hand head back to town and warp to the Present. Also if you haven't already done it push those strange seedlings near the pushed in walls. Now warp back to the Present. Back in the Present make your way back to where you planted the seedling. You will find Scent Seeds growing. Collect them and head back into the past. Also note that if you pushed the strange seedlings into the pushed wall you will find that they have grown into vines, one vine will lead you to a location to plant a Gasha Seed. Now head back into the past and get your shovel to reclaim all of your items, with the exception of your Shield. You will have to either purchase it from the Deku Scrub, or re-visit the trader to find your shield. Now that you have all your items return to the spot where you found the Harp. There you will find a time warp that will lead you to the next dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- First head left and grab the dungeon map, you will need to use your bombs to defeat the bunny head. Now head up and defeat the mini- version of the worm and head right. You will see a crystal in the middle of the room. Destroy it. Head up and through the revolving door, and head right. The next room will require you to destroy the cracked blocks. In order to destroy the cracked blocks within the others get behind the green line and toss the bombs at them. Once you've done that destroy the next crystal. Now push the statue into its correct position so that a key will fall. Now head back to the room with the worms. Fall down the pit and head down. Defeat the worm, and head down once more. In the next room defeat the bunny heads and head up one room. When you head up you will see the worm has returned, launch a bomb at it and destroy it, and take the other door that just opened. There you will see one of the Armos statues blocking your path. Time a bomb so that it will explode and hit the switch. Throw a bomb at Armos to destroy it. Head up the stairs, down one room, and then to the left. Push the blocks in the only direction they'll move in to retrieve another key. Now head back to where the worm was, and head up one screen from there and take the stairs. Now destroy the crystal. Push the block at the bottom out of your way and head right into the revolving door. If it brings you down, just head back around and it will bring you up. Head to the right, and step on the switch to activate the Armos statues. Defeat them to earn a key and go back and head up. There will be a few slimes and some floating tiles that will shoot at you. Either block them with your shield or slice them with your sword. Now head left. Circle around the long corridor and grab the chest. Now head up into the next room and then to the left. Defeat the monsters there to receive the Seed Shooter. Head back to the room with the Crystal you could not hit previously and use your Seed Shooter to hit it. You will have to angle your shot so the seed will actually hit the crystal. With the 4th crystal destroyed head back down to the revolving door room. Grab the Gasha Seed and fall back down the pit. From there head right and you will find the revolving door. Take the door down and defeat the enemies there. Push the blocks on the right side into the pit and use your Seed Shooter to hit the torches. You will receive a Gasha Seed. Now head left, up one, and then right back to the revolving door and let it take you up. Head up one more screen to reach the mini-boss, a drilling mole. In order to attack it you will have to use your Shovel to dig in front of the mole to get him out of hiding, then strike the mole. Repeat until its defeated. Head left then up and push the block that is out of place and grab they key that falls. Head back down to the revolving door room and head left, then up. Use the switch to turn the little platform at an angle so that when you shoot it with the Seed Shooter it strikes the switch. Use the key and open the door. In the next room use the Seed Shooter to cross the pits. Head back to the mini-boss room and let the revolving door take you to the right. Step on the switch until you can angle a shot that will hit the switch. Head up and grab the boss key. Now head for the boss room. ------Shadow Witch Boss------ For this boss you will need your Seed Shooter, Roc's Feather, and on occasion your Sword. The shadow will first split into 4 and track you across the room. Use the Feather to jump around and avoid the attack. Once you see the face appear the shadow will unleash some butterflies to attack you. This is pretty easy to avoid, and should not cause you any concern. The shadow will then return to its body form. Note that you cannot actually be face to face with the boss in this form, or it will return to being a puddle shadow. In order to actually attack it you will have to use your Seed Shooter and bounce the attack from the wall onto the shadow. Repeat until defeated. ---------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level 4 Skull Dungeon +--------------------------+ The next essence can be found somewhere near the peaks of Lynna City. You will however need some new transportation across the sea. Head up one screen to find some Tokay about to eat Dimitri. Trade them some Ember Seeds and they will leave Dimitri alone. Dimitri will now take you for a ride across the sea. If you head up one screen and then head right you will find another spot to plant a Gasha Seed. Now steer for the beach below Lynna City. Dimitri will soon part ways with you. Now if you want a certain Animal Helper you must do one of the following. Also note that you can only have ONE, so once you do one you will have that helper for the rest of the game. 1. To get Ricky the Kangaroo you must travel to the past and play the target practice game. One of the prizes will be the strange flute, which is used to call Ricky. 2. To get Dimitri the Dodongo, head to the Lynna City Shop and purchase the strange flute. This flute will be used to call Dimitri. 3. To get Moosh the Bear, do not get any of the flutes. Now head to the left side of Lynna City, and from there head up to Symmetry City. Use your Seed Shooter to burn the tree then hit the switch. Now keep heading forward until you see a man near a broken bridge. He tells of his co-workers who were suppose to fix the bridge but have not come back from break. You will have no way to reach them so star heading back. One of the fairies you played hide-n-seek with will inform you of one of your animal helpers, that got lost in the forest. Head back to the forest and follow the Fairy. From there you will have to navigate the mixed up forest and find whichever animal helper you decided to get. When you do find your Animal Helper, they will thank you and offer you their service. You will now be able to call Moosh, Ricky, or Dimitri whenever you need their help. The next part is totally dependent on which Animal Helper you have. If you have Dimitri you will find that the terrain is mainly water. If you have Ricky you will find that you wil need his hopping abilities to get around. For Moosh you will find pitfalls that you must fly over. Either way your mission is the same, to find each of the workers and have them complete the bridge to Symmetry Village. If you explore the area you will find a ring as well. When you've found all three workers the bridge will be completed and you will be able to head to Symmetry City. However upon exploration you will find the city in ruins. If you explore the center of town you will find two time warps as well as some Gale Seeds. Gather the seeds and head back in time. When you head back head into the first building you see. There you will learn about the town's trouble. Head to the top-right of the city and you will find the husband with the seed. He will tell you to visit his brother across town. As you head to the other side of town beware of the volcano. It will spit out fireballs and can harm you. Head to the other side and you will find the brother. He will give you the Cracked Tuni Nut which you will have to repair. Head South of the town and up the path. Follow the water path in the top-right and dive at the last water spot. After swimming through the underground cave you will find Tokkey. He is currently trying to finish his song but cannot quite finish it. Play the Harp and he will realize how to finish his song. You will then receive the Tune of Currents. With the Tune of Currents you will be able to travel from the Past to the Present without having to find the Warp Tiles. Head back out and down one screen. Head left and play the Tune of Currents in the bottom half of that area. You will find a Heart Piece back in the Present. Now head down to the Owl Statue in the Past. Stay near the bottom and use the Tune of Currents to warp back to the Present. Head down until you found a rock. Move it to find a Warp tile. Warp back to the Past. Head through the cave and up the stairs, now head to the right cave and exit. Use an Ember Seed of the weird looking item and the flow of the river will change. Head out of the cave, and head down one screen. Push the vine seedling to the other side and warp back to the Present. Climb up the vine and swim to the other side. Head up and around until you reach the warp and warp back to the Past. Head back around until you reach the Restoration Wall. Climb the wall and beware of the falling rocks. At the top you'll meet Patch, he will take you to his "ceremony" to fix the Tuni Nut. The ceremony consists of knocking enemies into the hole, however there is a mine cart circling the track and if you do not knock the enemies down in time the cart will hit the nut and you will have to start over, to counter this step on the switch to change the direction of the cart. Once that's accomplished take the Tuni Nut back to the house in the center of town and place the Tuni Nut back on the pedestal. Now warp back to the Present and where the Volcano used to be and you will find the next dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- From the entrance head up and then left by two screens. Jump over the lava pit and head into the next room. Head to the door on the other side and grab the Compass in the chest, and head down. You will find another colored cube to push. Push it down four times, to the right once, down once, left once, up once, and left twice. Grab the key and head back to where you started but head right this time. From there use the key and head up, and then right. Hit the switch and then head into the mine cart. Grab the dungeon map and head back. Hit the switch again and ride the cart into the other door. Be sure to hit the switch on the way. In the room you will have to use your Seed Shooter and ricochet a shot so that it hits the crystal. Grab they key and back into the mine cart. Head through the locked door and then head right. From there head up and pull the switch, and get ready to run to the other side before the lava comes back out. Head up and defeat the Stalfos and then head left, then up. Match the colors by jumping over them to open the door and head left. Here you will find yet another colored block. Avoid the traps that come after you if you walk in their path. You will have to push the block down twice, left twice, down twice, and then push it into the hole. Now board the mine cart. When it stops head right and use your Seed Shooter to hit the crystal. Grab they key from the chest and head to right two screens. Unlock the key block and jump over the tile to open the path. Go back to the room with the two Mine carts and board the one heading left. Equip your Seed Shooter and hit the Stalfos with it. This will open the door heading left. Head left and carefully jump onto each platform and then head down. Match the colors to the one above and grab the key. Use it on the key block above and head right. When the mine cart stops head to the left to face the mini-boss. This mini-boss is impervious to all of your attacks, with the exception of his own. As his sword swings around the room you will have to let it hit him. After three hits his shield will be broken and you will be able to slash at him with your sword. After he is defeated head down, right, and bomb the crack in the wall. The next puzzle requires you to step on every tile without stepping on the same tile twice or, jumping onto another one. From the start head left, and then head all the way up, right, down, right once, down twice, left once, down once, right twice, down once, then head all the way to the right, head up, then left once, up twice, then right. Head all the way up and then all the way to the left. Head down once, then head all the way to the right. Go down four tiles, left twice, up once, right once, up twice, left twice, and then finally down. You will then receive the Switch Hook. Head left and use the Switch Hook to reach the other side. Now head up and then left. Head up the stairs and you the Hook to reach the stairs on the other side. Head down and then right. Use the Hook to cross the lava pit. Step on the switch and use the Hook to switch places, and head up the stairs and through the door. Keep heading in the only direction you can go in until you reach a set of stairs. After you exit the stairs head up and use the Hook in the diamond shape block to switch places with it, and then use the Hook on the pot. Now keep head back to where the diamond block is now and use the Hook to keep switching places with it until you get it to rest on the switch. Head down, then left, and once again use the Hook to switch places with the pots. Head down and jump on the middle tile to change the floor colors and defeat the slimes. Now head left, and into another tile room. From the start head all the way down, and then all the way to the left. Head up three tiles, right once, down twice, right once, up once, right twice, down once, right three times, up once, right twice, down once, right, up twice, right, up twice, right, up, left, up, right, up, left twice, down, left once, up, and now head all the way to the left. Head down twice, right three times, up, right, down once, right twice, up, right twice, down once, right, down, right, down, left once and then down once. Head left twice, up, right, up, left twice, down once, left once, up once, and now keep heading left. Now head down, right once, down once, right once, up once, right, down, right, down, and finally right. Now grab the key and head up. Cross the lava pit and head up the stairs. Cross the pit and head left. After using your Hook to get across continue heading left and then down. Pull the switch and quickly get across the lava. Now head up and pull the next switch. Run to the first pot and toss it out of the way, and from there use the Hook to get from one spot to the next. Now head up into the next room. Climb the stairs and move both pots out of the way. Hook on to the pot across the room, and push that pot to the wall. Now hook onto the two pots sitting next to each other. Hook onto one and push the other onto the switch. Hook back onto the pot you pushed to the wall and grab the Boss Key. Now head for the boss. -------One Eyed Boss-------- This boss is extremely easy. Just be sure to come in with a full set of hearts. Now when the boss surrounds itself with mini-versions of itself, destroy these until you get the boss alone. Noe use the Hook on the main boss itself. This will stun the boss long enough for you to get in a couple of hits. Repeat until defeated. ---------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level 5 Crown Dungeon +--------------------------+ After retrieving the next essence the Make Tree tells of where the next Essence can be found, North of Naryu's House. However before going to Naryu's House explore Talus Peaks once again. Where the vines were you will find that the lake on the other side has dried up. Push the seedling in the past to the other wall and head back into the Present and climb up from there. Throw a bomb in there and answer the fairy honestly. In return she will upgrade the amount of bombs you can carry. If you use the Tune of Currents to pass the rocks on the other side you will find a Gasha Seed. Now head back to Lynna City. With the Tune of Currents you will be able to visit the Shop in the Present that was previously fenced off. Inside you will find that the shop sells a L-2 Ring Box, a Gasha Seed, and a Heart Piece. Now head to where Naryu's House is, but in the past. Use the Hook to get across the pit and head into the cave. Here you will find the home of the Gorons. They are in trouble and need the aid of a Bomb Flower to free their Elder. Warp to the Present and head into the Goron Cave. Head through the cave till you reach the top. Here you will find Moblins all over the place. You can try and enter their fort, but you won't get very far. You will however find a ring. If you head to the right you will find a warp. Use it to warp back to the Present. Head to the upper-left of Rolling Ridge and you will find some Pegasus Seeds. Warp back to the past and use these on yourself after entering the Moblin Fort, this way you will no longer fall down the pit. Head up the stairs to face the Moblin King. To defeat the King you must throw the big bombs he throws at you back at him. However do not throw them to early or he will throw them back at you. When defeated the Gorons will reward you with a Bomb Flower. Take this Bomb Flower to the past and use it to free the Elder. The Elder will reward you with the Crown Key. Warp back to the Present and head to where the Moblin Fort once was. Enter the cave and use the Pegasus Seeds along with the Feather to cross the chasm and into the next Dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- From the start of the Dungeon head up two screens and the left two screens. Head up and defeat the Moblins to reveal a set of stair. Take the stairs down and jump across the pit. Grab the diamond with the hook so that the switch and the diamond are parallel to each other. Now step on the switch and use the hook to keep the switch down. Head down and then up the stairs. Now head down two screens and hit the crystal to make it change color. Now head back down the stairs and grab the key in the chest. Head back to the room with the crystal switch and head right into the three statues room. Use your Seed Shooter and bounce a hit off the first statue onto the second and finally the third to retrieve a key. Go back to the room that is two screens above the entrance and head to the top-right entrance. Head down the stairs and then left. Defeat the enemies there and head down the stairs. In this pitch black room you will have to make your way to the treasure chest and the key. Follow the path the Moblins are on, and if you are in doubt as to where the ground actually is throw out some seeds and see if they fall or not. Grab the key and head back. Once you are back up the stairs with the red blocks surrounding it head left and hit the switch. Now head down into the lower-right corner, and head right then down into the room with the locked door and proceed through there. Head down the stairs and use the Seed Shooter to light the torches then head left. Step on the switch and memorize the location of each color. The pattern goes like this: Y B Y R R B First push the Blue statue on the left side to the right once and then down twice. Push the Red statue on the left up, and push the Blue statue that you were moving underneath it. Now push the Blue statue on the right to the right once and then push the Yellow statue on the right side up once, and then left once. Push the Blue statue on the right side up once, and then left once. Now push the Red statue on the right side up. Now push the Blue statue on the left to the right once. After piecing together the colored statues you will receive the Cane of Somaria. Now head back up the stairs and push the statues onto a switch and use the Cane of Somaria to create a block on the final switch Grab the key and head right two screens. Here you will the Dungeon map. Now head back left one screen and then head up one screen and then up the stairs, jump off to the right and head down the stairs. Head down the stairs and use the Cane to create a block over the walls you cannot jump onto. When you exit the mini-dungeon hit the switch with your Seed Shooter to proceed. In this room the statues will move together in whichever way they are pushed. Use the Cane to block the path of one statue so that it will not move when pushing the others. Grab the key and head back. Head out of the stairs and head up one screen, and then head right. Use the Pegasus Seed and the Feather to jump over the gap and head through the locked door, and into the mini-boss. The mini-boss is quite simple. Dodge the big black ball he throws at you and pick it up and throw it back at him. When he is defeated head up. Use the Cane on the switch and cross the bridge, and grab the Compass in the chest, now head down the stairs. Exit from the stairs and head left, be sure that the switch is red. Head down and up the stairs and head back to the room you just came from. Hit the switch with the Seed Shooter and head back. Use the key on the key block and head up and then left. Hit the switch and use the key on the other key block and head down and up the stairs. Jump on the red blocks and head up and then down the stairs. Hit the switch until you can get through and then head up the stairs and through the locked door. Head down the stairs and into the next puzzle room. In this room you must push the statues next to the Owl one. I do not believe they have to be in any order, mine sure weren't. You will have to use the Cane to stop any of the Statues from moving or falling down. Once you've completed that head back up and to the boss. --------Cloud Boss--------- This boss can be an extreme pain. What it does is split up into smaller clouds and hovers around these blocks. What you must do is make the clouds join each other. The first phase is easy, use the Cane and place a block in the middle until the two clouds join. Then attack as quickly as possible, but do not touch the boss or it will drain some serious life from you. The second phase is a lot tougher. There are three clouds and you must join all three together. Try to get a cloud on one side to join the one in the middle. Then use the Cane and try to get the other cloud to join the bigger one. This is much easier said than done. The third phase is a bit simpler. Push the blocks in the middle and create another block with your Cane. This will make one of the clouds head for the block in the middle. Create another block between the two clouds and strike again. The fourth and final phase is a dozy. Head to the upper right and use the cane to make the cloud on the right side join the one in the middle. Then head to the lower left and use the Cane to make the cloud join the bigger one in the middle. Note that the switch in the corner is to reset the clouds, in case you mess up. --------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level 6 Mermaid's Cave +--------------------------+ After you receive the Essence the Maku tree tells you that yet another Essence can be found around Rolling Ridges. When you exit the dungeon a Goron will inform you of some new tunnels. Head right and you will see a new cave. Enter the cave and work your way through it. From the exit head right, up, and then left to the bridge. Lift the middle rock to find a warp. Warp back to the Present. Here you will find a Goron who is willing to share his treasure with you, but first he will ask for some Bombs and Ember seeds. You must have the Bomb and Seed Upgrade or he won't ask. Check out the Secrets and Misc. Section for more information on that. A little note about the Goron, he has two treasures and offers one of them to you. I have tested this and picked the one on the left and appraised it and resetted the game and got the one on the right and appraised it. I got the exact same ring, so I'm guessing it doesn't matter which chest you choose. Also if you explore left you will find another spot to plant a Gasha Seed. Now warp back using the Tune of Currents and head through the cave you passed by earlier. This will bring you to the bottom of Rolling Ridges. Work your way around and avoid the little tree that you can burn. If you do burn it and go down the guy living down there will take some rupees away from you. Head up and you will find the Goron Dance, and extremely annoying and difficult mini-game. Play the mini-game until you win the Brother Emblem. This may take a few tries, but practice makes perfect. If you head left from the Goron Dance Cave you will find the entrance to the next Dungeon. However with no key you will not be able to proceed. If you check the bush right below the entrance you will find a time warp. Use it to travel back to the past. If you head to the right you will find the Goron Dance game, and if you head down one screen from there you will find the old man once again. Except this time he gives you rupees instead of taking them away, so its worth the visit this time. Now head all the way to the left and then up and enter the cave. Work your way through until you reach the top of Rolling Ridges. Head right and bomb the caved in wall to find a Gasha Seed. Also, if you cut the bushes and use the Tune of Currents to travel into the Present you will find another Heart Piece. Now head left and jump down the cliff. Head down one screen and use your Hook to move the vine seedling next to the pushed in wall. Use the Tune of Currents to travel back into the Present. When you warp to the Present lift the rocks that are nearby. You will find another spot to plant a Gasha Seed. Now climb up the vine and head to the right. Inside you will find the Target Cart game. Play it until you win the Rock Brisket. You can win other prizes too, such as the Boomerang, Gasha Seeds, and rupees. Once you're done head back outside and lift the rocks near the entrance of the Target Cart game. You will find another Time Warp, use it and warp back to the Past. In the Past you will find the Shooting Gallery. It plays similar to the one in Lynna City so it should be familiar to you. Play the Shooting Gallery until you win the Lave Juice. Also like the Target Cart Games you can win various other prizes. Once you've won the Lave Juice and the Rock Brisket head back into the Present and to the Goron Dacne Cave. If you have the Brother Emblem talk to the Goron guarding the stairs. He will move out of the way and will ask for the Rock Brisket. Give it to him to receive the Goron Vase. Now travel back to the Past and head back to the Goron Dance Cave. Talk to the other Goron blocking the stairs. Give him the Vase to receive the Goronade. Now head up the stairs and cross over the pits. Head up the next set of stairs and then exit the cave. Use the Tune of Currents and warp back to the Present. Now head back into the cave, and head for the stairs leading up. Head up and speak to the Goron there. Give him the Goronade and play his game to win the Old Mermaid Key. Head outside the cave and use your warp to warp back to the Past. Talk to the Goron in the cave and he will give you the Letter of Introduction for some Lave Juice. Now head back to the Goron Dance cave. Talk to the Goron there and give him the letter. Play the dance game once more to receive the Mermaid Key. With both Mermaid Keys in hand you will be able to complete Mermaid's Cave. ----Dungeon Strategy---- There are two versions to this Dungeon, a Present version and a Past Version. To begin, start in the Past and head into the waterfall. You will find the entrance to the Dungeon. From the entrance head up one screen and then head left. Kill the slimes here by jumping over the middle tile to change colors and grab the compass. Now head right, and up two screens. In this room kill all of the enemies, and to kill the candle looking enemies use an Ember Seed to destroy them. When the enemies are defeated head right and defeat the enemies there to grab a key. Now head back to the entrance. If you search the right side you will find a crack in the wall, bomb it and proceed to the right. Defeat the wizards there to retrieve a Gasha Seed, now head right. Defeat the candles with your Seed Shooter and Ember seeds then head up. Jump into the water and head left. You will find the Map there. Now head to the right side until you reach the torches. They must be lit in order so, light the top left one first, then the top middle, followed by the bottom middle and finally the top right torch. Once done a section of the wall will move. With the wall out of the way you will now have to head to the Present. Head out and use the Tune of Currents to warp to the Present version of Mermaid's Dungeon. Head into the cave and use the Old Mermaid key to gain entrance. Once inside head up two screens and then head left. Use the hook to get across and grab the Map for this dungeon. Now head right and then up. Use your Seed Shooter to hit the crystal and then head to the top right corner. Hit it again to gain access to the room on the right. Use a Scent Seed to make the snakes fall into the pit and grab the key in the chest. Now head back left and hit the switch. Walk to the bottom left side, and hit the switch once more to gain access to the left side. In this room bomb the wall surrounded by blocks and head down. Use the Hook to get across and bomb the lower wall, to gain access to the bottom room. Here you will find the colored block once again. All you have to do is push the block onto its corresponding color and you will receive a key. Note that the blue color is the last one that the blocked should be pushed onto. Now head up two screens and look for a spot to bomb a wall, and the head into the rotating wheel room. First head up and into the first rotating wheel and then into the second rotating wheel. Head up and around and back into the wheel to change its direction. Head up and around once more to make the wheel bring you down. Head left and then up to find a key. Now jump down and head into the wheel. Let it take you up and then head up the stairs, now move the pots and jump down from there. Head down into the wheel and back into the second wheel. Go up and move the pots and jump down again and head back into the wheel. If done correctly it should take you to the stairs, head up and around, and into the locked door, and to the mini-boss. The mini-boss is some type of gargoyle name Vire, and flies around the room throwing red and black fireballs at you. Just keep attacking it while avoiding the attacks. After a few hits he will begin to dodge your sword attacks as you get closer. You will have to get as close as you can and quickly attack. Its final attack is two little bats, wait for them to dive down then attack. Head right and throw a bomb onto the cracked blocks. Use the Hook to get across and grab the Mermaid's Suit. Now head back to the mini- boss room and use the warp to warp back to the entrance. Head right and destroy the candles with your Seed Shooter and Ember Seeds. Head right once more and avoid the large spikes moving across the room. Head into the locked door and use your Hook to get across. Grab the Compass and jump down and head into the stairs. Work your way through the Tunnel and head up the ladder. Head up and through the Key block and grab the Boss Key. If you head around to the other side you will find some rupees. Now exit the Dungeon, but before you leave head to the deep water near the Owl Statue and dive down. You will find a ring down there. Now warp back to the past and head back into Mermaid's Cave. Head back to the spot where the water was deep and dive down. Head left and head down and around and down the stairs. Head through the stairs on the other side, and work your way through to find another key. Once you've gotten the key head back up and out of the water. Head back to the entrance and from there head up two screens and then head left. Here you will have to use the Cane to create a block for the switch on the left, and then push a pot on the right switch. Once done head up, and use a bomb to destroy the cracked blocks. Use your sword to find a weak spot on the wall near the top and then bomb the wall. Head up into the rotating wheel, and head back into the wheel from the other side until you get the wheel to take you to the other side. Now dive into the water, and head to the right passageway, the left side will only give you rupees. When you reach the end you will find a room with those diamond shaped block. Use your Hook to get the diamonds onto the tiles to receive a key. Head back up and then head left. Use the key on the block and pull out your Cane and use it on the switch until you have the right angle. Shoot a seed at it and cross the bridge and to the boss. -------Octopus Boss-------- The Octopus boss is quite simple. Its face is its weakness, and can be hit with any weapon, however I recommend using the Seed Shooter. It puts you out of harms way, and makes it much easier to hit when the boss is underwater. Above water the boss will circle around the platforms and shoot rocks at you. When his face is facing you quickly launch an attack and move out of the way. When it submerges head down with it and use your Seed Shooter to hit it once again. Beware of the bubble it spits out underwater. --------------------------- +--------------------------+ Level: Rescuing Naryu +--------------------------+ After receiving the next Essence you will receive a message from the Maku Tree. The Queen has left her palace and now is the time to rescue Naryu. Head to the Palace and you will meet up with Ralph once more. He will tell you that the Castle is heavily guarded and the only way in is by a secret passage. In order to gain access to the secret passage you must press four switches. The four switches are scattered around the Castle, all of which must be stepped on in order to gain access to the Castle. The castle soldiers are guarding all of the switches and you must sneak around and press the switch without getting spotted or they will throw you out. Once you've pressed all four switches head to the secret passage. Once you've done that and managed to enter the castle search the right side of the castle to find a Ring. Now head to the left and up the stairs, and into the room where Naryu awaits. Here you will find that Naryu is still being possessed by Veran and you cannot harm her while in Naryu's body. Use your Seed Shooter along with Mystery Seeds, refill outside if you don't have any, to force Veran's Spirit out of Naryu's body. Now use your Hook to pull Veran away from Naryu and slash at the spirit. After three attacks Veran will leave Naryu once and for all. After the events that occur you will find yourself in front of the Maku Tree. Naryu will teach you the Tune of Time, allowing you to travel between the Past and Present at will. The Maku Tree will then tell you where the next essence lies, in the belly of a fish? +----------------------------+ Level 7 Jabu Jabu's Belly +----------------------------+ Your next stop will be at Zora Seas. Zora seas is practically one big maze, and as such will require a lot of traveling between the Past and Present. Once you've reach Zora Village explore and talk to the locals. If you search above Zora Village in the Past you will find another spot to plant a Gasha Seed, you will also find a Gasha Seed in the Present. Go back to the past if you aren't already there and go see the Zora King. If you have the Magic Potion give it to him to cure him. If you don't have the potion go back to Yoll Graveyard and purchase a Potion. Give the Potion to the king and he will thank you. Warp to the Present and speak to the King once again. He will give you the Library Key. Exit the Palace and head right. You will find the Library there. Warp to the Past and unlock the Library Door. Speak to the people there to learn of something called the Book of Seals. Warp to the Present and head into the Library. Head into the back and get the Book of Seals from the old man. Warp back to the Past and place the book on the Pedestal. It will then give you instructions on where to walk. To make this easier use the Cane to determine where you need to walk to next. Once you've reached the old man you will receive the Fairy Powder. Exit the Library and head left. Use your Hook to get across and to the Fairy Queen. Use the Powder on her and she will cleanse the sea. You will now be able to travel freely across, and retrieve two rings you were unable to get. Now speak to the king to get permission to enter Jabu Jabu. Head left of the Palace to find Jabu Jabu. ----Dungeon Strategy---- From the entrance head left, you will a room with some statues and those diamond blocks. Use your Hook to get a diamond in front of each statue. Once done you will get a key, now head up. Go towards the yellow tile and dive up. From there head left and get the map, now head up three screens. Beware of the small puddles, some worm type creature is in there ready to attack. Push the blocks out of the way and head to the right, then up the stairs. Head down and around, until you see a switch surrounded by red tiles. Step on the switch to lower the water and head back down the stairs. Once you've gone down the stairs head down one room and jump into the pit below. Use your Hook to get to the middle platform and then to the treasure chest on the other side, it contains a ring. Now head down one room and grab the key in the chest. Head down one more screen and then right. Defeat the enemies there to receive the Compass. Now head up, and use the Cane to keep the switch down, and head right. Head up one set of stairs, and then head up the other stairs. Now head up and then head to the right side, and up once again. Use your Hook to get across and head left. Use the Hook to get across the spikes and head up the stairs. Head up and then left, and step on the switch. Now had back down the stairs, and work your way back to the other stairs. You will now see a pool of water right below the stairs, swim in the water and head right. Defeat the worms in there to grab a small key. Now head left, up, and then left again. Dive down the water, and grab the Gasha Seed in the chest, and head down the stairs. The mini-boss of this dungeon awaits, and is a push over. Use your Seed Shooter to knock the wind out of the fish, and hit the little antenna on its head, repeat until defeated. Head up the stairs and unlock the key block to receive the Long Hook. Use the Hook to reach the other platform, and head down the stairs. Head left and use the Hook to move the Diamond out of the way. Now head up and down the stairs. When you re-surface, defeat the enemies present to receive a Key. Head down and dive up, and now head up two screens and then right. Head back up the stairs and press the Red Switch again. Now head back down to the First Floor and to the room with the last treasure on that floor. Use the Hook to move the diamond onto the switch and use the Cane to keep the other switch down. Grab the key, and head back to the third floor. Step on the blue switch to make the water rise once again, and use your Hook to get across the water. Head up, then right and then head down. You will find another blue switch, step on it and head back to the stairs. Now head south of the stairs and you will find another key. Now head back up and use all of your keys to obtain the boss key. Now head to the spot in the map where the mini-boss warps appears. If you dive up from the blue tiles you will find the path to the boss. -------Jellyfish Boss------- For this boss, you will find that none of your weapons will harm it. The only way to harm the boss is to let the energy balls it fires hit him. To accomplish this, wait for the boss to fire an energy ball and use your Hook to switch places with it. After repeated hits it will soon die. Beware of its other attack, it will electrocute itself causing you harm if you try to hook it. --------------------------- +----------------------------+ Level 8 Ancient Dungeon +----------------------------+ With that 7th essence in hand, only one more remains. You will however discover that Veran has completed the Black Tower and the Maku Tree gives you no clue as to where the last essence can be. The last dungeon lies in the past, and at the same location where Yoll Graveyard sits. Course with that part of the map heavily unknown to you, you probably could have figured that out. As you leave Jabu Jabu, a Zora will give you a Zora Scale to show their appreciation. With the Scale in hand Warp to the Past and head to the Sea of Storms, which is at the very bottom of the map and at the center. Find a Zora around there and when he sees the Zora Scale he will let you past. When you enter the Sea of Storms head underwater, there you will find a ring. Now look for the Pirate Ship. Talk to the Captain to receive the Tokay Eyeball, now head back to Crescent Island. Go to the Statue in the middle of the Island and use the Eyeball on it. A door will open to a cave of Trials. Here you will have to test your Power, Wisdom, and Courage. The first room consists of defeating mummies, the second consists of a room blocked off by rocks, and the final room consists of invisible platforms, which you must jump from one to the other. Use your Cane to help you figure out where to go. Once you've completed the cave you will find yourself outside and underwater. Dive back up and push the Armos statue to align with the other two, when you've done that the way to the final dungeon will be revealed. Work your way through the maze to reach the dungeon. ----Dungeon Strategy---- As you enter the dungeon head up, and light the torches with an Ember seed. Head to the top left of that room and push the statue out of the way. Plant a bomb where the statue used to be to find a passage, now head left. Grab the key in the chest and then head down. Now use the Hook to get the diamond cube onto one of the switches. Use your Cane to keep another switch down. Now head to the right side of the room and step on the switch. Use your Seed Shooter to light the torch and head down. Now head up and through the rotating wheel. Head left, and push the block to reveal a set of stairs. You will find the Map down the stairs. Now head back up the stairs and then head up and grab the key. Now head back to the wheel and head down then right. Use the key to unlock the key block and continue to the right and to the next rotating wheel. Head down and then left, and up the stairs. Head up to find a crystal switch, hit it once and head back down to retrieve the compass. Now hit the switch again and continue to the left. You should now see a crack near the bottom wall, bomb it and retrieve the key in there. Now head back to the crystal and hit it once again. Use your Hook to reach the Diamond cube on the other side and head right, then up. Head left and use your Hook to get across. Head down the stairs and then up and then right. Defeat the skeletons in this room to retrieve a key then head down. Head up the stairs and step on the switch to make a set of stairs appear. Now head back down the stairs you came up from, and head down into the wheel. Head back up the stairs that you just created, and head back down into the wheel. Head right and then down into the next wheel, until you can head to the right. Use your key to unlock the door in the bottom wall and you will find another one of those tile puzzles. To unlock the puzzle, from the start head right one square, down two, left one, down one, right three, up two, left one, up one, and then head all the way to the corner. Head down two squares, left one, down one, right one, down one, left three, down one, right twice, down once, right one, and then down one. Head left three, up one, left one, up one, left one, up one, left one, then up four. Now head left one and then down six. Head right two, down one, and then head all the way to the left. From there head up one, right two, up one, left one, up one, left one, up one, right one, up one, right one, up one, left two, and finally up one. You will now receive the Power Glove. With the glove in hand head back through the wheel and then up, and unlock the door to continue on. Head right then down and hit the crystal switch. Be sure that when you hit the switch that you are standing on the red blocks. With the red blocks up, follow the path and then jump to reach the next room. Head all the way to the left and head down the stairs. Now head to the right to face the mini-boss. To defeat this boss you will have to reflect the energy balls it throws at you, and make it hit him. This part is a bit difficult to explain, and you would probably be confused if you read through my explanation. Anyways, what you must do in the part is to find a slate to place in the center of map. There are four slates total, and one can be found in each corner of this level. There are no real difficult puzzles or traps to really stop you on this floor. Just be sure to explore and you will find all four slates, and hopefully you will also run into the Boss Key and two Gasha Seed. -------Ramrock Boss------- This boss has multiple forms, and each requires a different technique to defeat. The first form will throw his hands at you. Knock the hands back at the head to harm it. The second phase requires you to throw your bombs into the center of its hands and it will crush the bomb harming itself. The third form can only be harmed in the back of its head. Use the Seed Shooter and reflect the seeds off the wall into the back of its head. The fourth and final form will have chain balls for hands. To defeat this form let him throw one of the balls at you, and quickly begin pulling on the other hand. When you've pulled as far as you can release and you will harm the monster. Repeat until its finally defeated. -------------------------- +----------------------------+ Final Battle: Veran +----------------------------+ With all 8 essences in hands the Maku Tree will summon you. First use the Power Glove to lift the statues in front of the 8th dungeon until you find a treasure chest with a ring in it. Now head back to the Maku Tree in the Present to receive the Maku Seed. With the Seed in hand, prepare yourself, with any thing you might need, or haven't upgraded. Once you've done that head back to the past and to the Black Tower. Work your way up the tower until you reach the point the Maku Seed takes effect. You will find yourself in a room with a bunch of stairs. Navigate through the stairs until you can reach the middle. When you head up the center stairs you will end up in a room with a ton of stairs and four flames. One of the flames will lead you to the correct stairs. The correct stairs can be found at the very bottom row, second stairs to the right. Head up the stairs and you should find yourself in the center of the room. Head up and work your way through the top floor until you reach Veran. -----------Veran---------- The fight with Veran consists of three parts. The first fight is the same as the fight with the possessed Naryu. Use the Seed Shooter along with Mystery Seeds to force Veran's spirit out of the queen and attack with your sword. She will attack by summoning an energy ball and releasing a circle of smaller balls to attack you, along with summoning some spiders to keep you distracted. The second form consists of a fairy Veran. She will also have four shadows of you, which mimic your movements. She will also fire energy balls at you. After you defeat this form you will be lead to believe Veran has been defeated. As you are about to exit the tower Veran captures you for one final battle. In this battle Veran has three forms, a turtle, bee, and spider form. In her turtle form she will try to flatten you by stomping on you. As she is about to land use the feather to quickly jump away, and attack when he face pops out. In her spider form she will be impervious to any attacks. Throw a bomb at her to stun her, and while stunned attack. In hr bee form, she will not have any strong defense to protect her so just keep attacking at her, while avoiding her attacks. When defeated you will have completed Oracle of Ages. -------------------------- With Veran defeated you will be treated to the ending, allowing with a sample of things to come. You will be given a password, which is unique to your game, which is used in Oracle of Season. ****************************************** IV. Link System ****************************************** The Link system is a clever way of having two games communicate with each other, as well as making us buy two Zelda games. The first thing you will receive to link the two games is when you first complete the game. A password will be given which can be used in the other game. This password tells the other game that you have completed one game, and this game will change a few details accordingly. Note that this password is unique to your game, and will not be the same for everybody, so don't ask for it. ****************************************** V. Cut around the tall grass and you should find a soil spot. 2. Crescent Island You will have to push a vine seedling in the past, so that in the Present you can access an inaccessible area of the island. You will find another spot there. 3. Crescent Island When you have Dimitri circle around Crescent Island and you will find a small patch of land. Cut the bushes and you will find another spot. 4. Talus Peaks Explore the very top-left of Talus Peaks and use your Shovel to uncover another soil patch. 5. Rolling Ridges Near the vine you will see a stack or rocks near each other. The one in the middle holds another spot to plant a seed. 6. Talus Peaks At the very left side of Talus Peaks and about halfway you will find a spot unreachable, unless you have Ricky. Otherwise you will need the Tune of Ages to reach it. 7. Fairies Wood In the very bottom-left of Fairies Forest you will find a lone grass blocked by some trees. Head to that spot in the past and use the Tune of Ages to reach another spot. 8. Sea of Storms At the very bottom middle of the map you will see a piece of land that is covered by whirlpools. I'm not sure how to access this area, but I've been told you get there through a pass worded game. Past: 1. Lynna Village Right above the house with the hand in the toilet. Use the Shovel to uncover the spot. 2. Talus Peaks From Lynna Village jump across a pit that blocks the path up, and you will find another spot being blocked by rocks. 3. You will have to jump over a pit and use your shovel to uncover the spot. 5. Rolling Ridges After you complete Crown Dungeon a new cave will open up. Head in the Cave, and then when you exit, look for a warp hidden under some rocks. Warp back to the Pat and use your shovel to find another spot. 6. Talus Peaks At the very top-left corner of Talus Peaks you will find a lone rock on a cliff. Warp to their from the Present and you will find another spot. 7. Crescent Island At the point where the big statue surrounded by water lies is a hidden spot for another Gasha Seed. Head one screen down from the Statue and use your Shovel to find it. 8. Zora Seas In the very bottom-left corner you will find a small island. Cut down the bushes to find another spot. ****************************************** VIII. Secrets and Misc. ****************************************** +--------------------+ The Trade Sequence +--------------------+ The trade sequence will begin when you've gotten the Poe Clock from the Ghost near Spirit's Graveyard. Once you've gotten the Poe Clock, give it to the mailman in Lynna Town in the Past. In return for the Clock you will receive a Stationery. From the mailman's house head left until you reach a small little house, head inside and towards the hole. The hand in the hole wants some paper, for some disgusting reasons probably. Give him the stationary and he will hand you the Stink Bag. Give the Stink Bag to a Toaky in Crescent Islands in the Present to get the Tasty Meat. Give the Tasty Meat to the Happy Mask Guy in the Present, who is to the left of Lynna City. In return you will receive a Doggie Mask. Give the Doggie Mask to Mamamu Yan in the Present, who is right above the Black Tower to receive the Dumbbell. Warp back to the Past and head to Symmetry Village. Head to the Middle House and head downstairs. Give the skinny guy the Dumbbell to receive the Cheesy Mustache. Warp back to the Present and head back to Lynna City. Fine the comedian and give him the Cheesy Mustache. He will give you a Funny Joke in exchange. Warp to the past and head to the exact spot you got the Funny Joke. Head in the house and tell the depressed boy the joke, you will get the Touching Book in return. The Touching Book must be given to Maple. However finding her is easier said then done, especially since she appears randomly in the Past and Present. Just keep wandering around and you should eventually find her. In return she will give you the Magic Oar. The boy who made you the Raft in the Past has been looking for an Oar, and what better Oar then a magic one. Give him the Oar to receive the Sea Ukulele. Now head to Lynna Village and head to the right, jump over the pits and either use your Hook to get across the large pit or swim. Head to the cave below and you will find an Old Zora. Give him the Ukulele and he will give you the Broken Sword. Take this sword to Restoration Wall and repair it to get the Noble Sword. +---------------+ Bomb Upgrade +---------------+ I have a feeling most people won't catch this in the normal walkthrough, or just don't want to look for it so here is the strategy to get the Bomb upgrade. The bomb upgrade can be found near Symmetry Village, in Talus Peaks. When you find a vine seedling in Talus Peaks in the past, push it to the left side. Head into the cave and push that strange red thing to the other side. This will change the flow of the water. Now warp back to the Present and climb up the vine. If done properly you will see that most of the water has been drained, and you should see a sign. If you throw a bomb into the pond a fairy will appear. Answer her truthfully and you will receive the bomb upgrade. You will now be able to carry more bombs than usual. +---------------+ Seed Upgrade +---------------+ Unlike the bomb upgrade I totally discovered this upgrade a little late, and did not want to place in somewhere in the walkthrough so I placed it here. To get the Seed upgrade you will need the Seed Shooter. First head off to the spot where Tingle floats around. Head into the cave and use your Seed Shooter to hit the switch. Head up the stairs and use your Sword to bring Tingle down. He will then upgrade how many Seeds you can carry. +----------------+ Shield Upgrade +----------------+ Near Crescent Island, in the Past, you will find a Cave surrounded by Rocks. If you have the Mermaid Suit head to that spot in the Past, and dive under. Head in the cave to retrieve the Iron Shield. ****************************************** IX.
