THE LEGEND OF ZELDA - ORACLE OF SEASONS - PIECE OF HEART LOCATIONS
=====================================================================
 Created by AstroBlue (tetsuwan_blue(at)yahoo.com.au) v1.3 13/06/01
=====================================================================

Welcome to my guide to finding all the Pieces of Heart in The Legend
of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. This guide is a great complement to
myself and ShdwRlm3's Oracle of Seasons FAQ, also available at
GameFAQs (shameless self-promotion over).

The Heart Container system is rather complex, depending on whether or
not you're playing a "Password" game. In a normal, "non-Password"
game, you can get

3 Heart Containers- Link begins the game with these.
8 Heart Containers- 1 Heart Container is present in each dungeon.
Collect them after you defeat the Boss.
3 Heart Containers (12 Pieces of Heart)- These are present all
throughout the world of Labrynna. Search through caves, play
mini-games, and do other special things to collect all 12 Pieces
     of Heart.
1 Heart Container- Use the Graveyard Secret from an Oracle of Ages
"linked" game to receive another Heart Container.

Okay, so 3+8+3+1=15, right? But there are only enough spaces for 14!
Well, once you collect a Heart Container exceeding the 14th, your
Status Bar will change to allow up to 16 Hearts! BUT, it's currently
unknown if you can get 16 Hearts in a non-Password game. I'll find
out soon!

NOTE! It IS possible to get 16 Hearts in a non-Password game!
However, this is only possible if you're using a Hero's Secret to
start a new game. You receive the Hero's Secret after beating a
password "Linked Game." Using a Hero's Secret allows you to start a
non-Password game with 4 Hearts instead of the usual 3.

In a "Password" game, the system gets even more complicated.

4 Heart Containers- Link begins the game with 4 Heart Containers
     instead of 3.
8 Heart Containers- 1 Heart Container is present in each dungeon.
Collect them after you defeat the Boss.
3 Heart Containers (12 Pieces of Heart)- These are present all
throughout the world of Labrynna. Search through caves, play
mini-games, and do other special things to collect all 12 Pieces
     of Heart.
1 Heart Container- After using the Fairy Secret in an Oracle of Ages
"non-linked" game, give the Secret given to you by the Fairy to
Farore inside the Maku Tree. Open the Chest for another Heart
     Container.

Okay, so 4+8+3+1=16, no? Yep. Again, there are only spaces for 14,
but once you get your 15th, the Heart Meter will change to accomodate
for the extra hearts, so you can get up to 16 Hearts!

The basic layout of this guide is as follows:

1. Location of Piece of Heart - Item(s) needed to reach Heart Piece.
Brief walkthrough to get to the Piece of Heart.

The walkthroughs will often use the dungeons or Mystical Seed Trees
as points of reference.

1. Maple - N/A
Maple will randomly drop a Piece of Heart, once you have collected
one off her she will never drop another.

2. Gasha Tree - N/A
If you plant a Gasha Seed in soft soil, the Gasha Nut that grows
from the tree may have a Heart Piece in it.
(The location of the Heart Piece is totally RANDOM! Just keep
planting those Gasha Seeds, especially in hard-to-reach soft
   soil locations).

3. Horon Village - Seed Satchel with Ember Seeds
It is found in the center of Horon Village. To collect it, use an
Ember Seed on the sapling blocking the way to burn it out of the
   way.

4. Eastern Suburbs - Rod of Four Seasons with Winter
Change the season to Winter using the Stump in the far south-east.
Now go up, head up the stairs and over the snow build-up, down,
left and enter the cave. Now head up to collect the Piece of
   Heart.

5. Woods of Winter - Power Bracelet or Zora's Flippers
In the far south-east corner of the Woods of Winter, move the rock
out of the way with the Power Bracelet or swim across the water to
get to the Piece of Heart.

6. Subrosia Village - N/A
You can buy a Piece of Heart from the Subrosia Market for 20 Ore
   Chunks & 10 Ember Seeds.

7. Spool Swamp - Rod of Four Seasons with Spring & Zora's Flippers
Using the tree stump below the entrance to Poison Moth's Lair
change the season to Spring. Head right, down then swim down,
down, right & head into the Rapids on your right. Follow the
Rapids and he will take you to the Piece of Heart, but you will
have to swim towards it to get it.

8. Mt. Cucco - N/A
Drop down from the entrance of the Dancing Dragon Dungeon to
   collect the Piece of Heart.

9. Moblin's Keep - Zora's Flippers & Power Bracelet
Swim to the entrance on the west side of the Fort from Natzu
Praire/River/Wasteland and then head up twice and enter his tower,
kill the Pig Warriors then head up the stairs to fight the Great
Moblin. To kill the Great Moblin, pick up the large Bombs (you
need to equip the Power Bracelet), wait a few seconds, then toss
them back at the Great Moblin. After you hit him a couple of times
he will go grey because of all the gunpowder. Then all you have
to do is make the bomb explode just when he is about to throw a
bomb. The bomb will land in his stockpile and the whole fort will
be in ruins. Now open the chest in the rubble of the tower to get
   a Piece of Heart.

10. Eyeglass Lake - Rod of Four Seasons with Summer & Power Bracelet
Using the Tree Stump in Eyeglass Lake change the season to
Summer. Then head right, down, down, down the steps then head up,
up, pick up the rock with the Power Bracelet and go down the
stairs. Avoid the Keese and Zols and head down the stairs to your
left. Avoid more Keese and Zols then head down the stairs to you
right. Now avoid the spears and open the chest to collect the
   Piece of Heart.

11. Graveyard - Rod of Four Seasons with Summer, Winged Cape &
                   the Power Bracelet
Using the Tree Stump in Western Seashore change the season to
Autumn (You have to go through an abandoned house to get to it).
Then head into the cave, right one screen from where the vine is
in Summer that takes you to the Graveyard. Jump over the gap, move
the right stone up, the middle stone left and then go up the
stairs. Now go up, left, pick up the Mushrooms & then collect the
   Piece of Heart.

12. Temple Remains - Bombs
After flooding the Temple Remains with lava from the underworld,
head up and Bomb the pile of rocks to open up an entrance to a
cave. Enter the cave and jump across the lava to get to the Piece
   of Heart.
